Full credit for finding the way to do it goes to Chronic

Have to be on the daily quest "Aid from Nordrassil" obtained from 米露恩.
Click on the small mushrooms at the bottom of the trees, when they become mushroom people use the quest item on them.
They then become stationary and will keep you in combat.
Do this 2 more times, before the first one despawns.
The fourth mushroom you click will be the rare, which will drop the paint vial.

Since the information isn't on this page, I will confirm here that this item CAN drop from the Crazed Trogg, and he does NOT need to be asking for orange for that to happen.

I have killed the Crazed Trogg every single day since Mechagon came out, and the Fungarian Furor every day that the quest was up and he was able to be summoned. I have yet to see this color and it's the only one I need for the achievement.

疯狂的穴居人 located in a cave at coords 81.94, 21.67 and is not attackable when he spawns. He stands around shouting "kill green" or "kill blue". You have to head over to Bondo's Yard (63.51, 42.13), where you'll find paint on the ground (blue, green, orange). Stand in the paint color that Crazed Trogg hates and you will get a 3 minute buff. Head back to the rare and you can aggro him with the color paint he hates.

It is possible to get two Fungarian Furors up at the same time. However, even if you tag both of them, you can only loot the first one that's killed.

You can't keep the quest 来自诺达希尔的援助 in your quest log to be able to farm 真菌人狂热者 when the daily isn't up. It will be automatically delete the next day.

Rarity string for 颜料瓶：过载橘黄. Droprate is set to 1/5 but doesn't feel like that though. Can confirm today, 5/25/2020, that I got Overload Orange from Crazed Trogg ( /way 81.94, 21.67 ).

I finally got the achievement today for collecting all the Paint Vials. Now I just need one...more...Vinyl to complete my Mecha-Done achievement. Can you guys guess which one it is? Lol.

still farming out overload orange, Been killing Fungarian Furor and Crazed Trogg every day/chance I can get.

Last thing I need for the meta achievements rng gods please.

12/14/20 : the pain vial finally dropped and I have claimed mecha-done it's finally over.

Here is the little 蘑菇 you are looking for, and the link includes the loot table for 真菌人狂热者. There are others too, but if you're using an addon that shows NPC ID#s, this (135497) is the kind you want.
It also drops 柔雪啃食者.

I came here because I wanted to offer a great tip that I got from this page but it seems to be gone now. It is a way to get two chances at the drop per time that the quest is up.

You can kill Fungarian Furor on the day the quest is up, and again if you go back the following day and SUMMON him a few minutes before daily reset then kill him again AT reset for another chance at the drop. This is how I got my overload orange and subsequently finished Mecha-Done today.

Note: He will despawn if you don't attack within 20ish seconds, so try to summon him as close to reset as possible/keep him aggro'd until the clock switches over. You'll know you can loot him again when the silver dragon icon reappears on his name plate.

I hope this makes sense.

I've killed the crazed trog over 70 times now from active farming - not to mention several kills from when 8.2 was active. and today was the 13th kill on mushroom (got the pet two times). RNGsus likes to play with me.

Update 10.08.21: 85 crazed trogg, 14 mushroom - 3rd pet, no vial

The easiest way to get this item:

Wait for daily quest 来自诺达希尔的援助 to be up.

Spawn Fungarian Furor by clicking on mushrooms in the quest area. Tip mentioned in previous comments: if you have addon that shows NPC ID in tooltip, you can easily see beforehand if Furor will spawn (ID 135497).

If you don't manage to get the drop on your main, you can try again with your alt EVEN if he doesn't have quests unlocked.

Trigger the Fungarian Furor with your main by clicking on proper mushroom and quickly relog onto your alt to finish him off. When I switched characters, Fungarian Furor was still hitting my main.

Because 八原色 is account wide , it will count towards completion if you get the color on your alt.

It was the last item I needed for Mechadone.

Today after 4 years, the rare mushroom finally gave me color. I decided to go to Mecalopolis with an alter, after doing his introductory missions, I went to kill the mushroom rare and he gave me the color. 4 years for me to drop color. Seriously, the RNG is very ridiculous in these achievements.
