Anybody seeing this behaviour when caging this pet?
Got this pet today from a Time-Lost Wallet.
Learned it and then caged it.
What i got was a Time-Lost Wallet. And when i opened it i got 44 gold.
Not sure if the pet really got caged but it was in my bag again.
Dont want to risk loosing it trying it again. But if someone does dare to try it i would like to know the result.
Is this repeatable ? or was it a glitch?

My way to farm 8-12 时间之沙 in around 2-3 minutes:
( 时间之沙 can obtain 迷时钱包 for the two Pets 永生的青铜幼龙 and 青铜始祖龙宝宝 )

You have to enter the scenario and enter the very left portal "The War for Andorhal".
To obtain the portal you have to do:

Kill 翠绿羽毛 for 24 翠绿羽毛 and 翡翠鞭笞者 for 30 合股纤维
Combine these into 3 噩梦捕梦网 to enter the Emerald Nightmare, and defeat all 6 梦境折磨者 (2 per Ancient).
Defeat 萨拉斯·维索恩 by the skull/hand statue.
This boss drops 微光时光碎片 to start 微光时光碎片 and unlock the Andorhal portal back at Wyrmrest Temple.

Once you've entered the portal accept the Quest from Chromie 炮火蔽日 to get one more 时间之沙 .
Afterwards fly straight to kill (each marked with a star on the minimap) 萝比·电压 , 塔乐莎·韧皮 , 格罗索格 , 妖术师贾昆达 and 药剂师蒂林丝 .
They drop around 1-2 时间之沙 each. Be aware, sometimes there are Time Chest directly close to those NPCs. Which also obtain 1-3 时间之沙 .
Kill the canon to complete 炮火蔽日 and turn it in.
Do not forget to open your 时间之沙 , they will disappear if you leave the scenario.
Right click your portrait to quickly leave the scenario.
Speak to Chromie again and repeat the steps till you have your two pets. :)

I am either very unlucky or the drop chance was nerfed:

153 Sands of Time
35 Time-Lost Wallet (22.9%)
2 Ageless Bronze Drake (5.7%)
0 Bronze Proto-Whelp

I spent about 90 minutes farming for this today (October 22, Shadowlands Pre-Patch). After some trial and error, I found the most efficient way to farm Sands of Time.

1) Take the quest in the tower (6 Sands of Time)
2) go to all 4 dragonshrine areas and kill the main mob there (2x4 Sands of Time)
3) also kill the Rare mob that patrols around the outside (3x4 Sands of Time).

That should be 26 Sands of Time every 5-6 minutes. I would not bother going into any scenarios, instead I would just right-click my portrait and exit the instance, and then start over.

When opening Sands of Time, my priority for options was 1) Treasure (obviously, since here's where it drops from). 2) Damage (in pre-patch, you have to work a little bit to get the kills), 3) Speed (running faster helps a tiny bit). Do NOT take the Bronze Drake buff to clear a shrine, since you will then not be able to actually kill the boss there, and you will miss out on 2 Sands of Time.

All in all, after about 90 minutes of this, I had ended up with about 7 bronze drakes, and 1 bronze proto-drake. I suspect the current drop rate of the Ageless Bronze Drake is around 3%, and the Bronze Proto-Whelp is approximately 0.4%.

In the past you could farm these pets from Deaths of Chromie but now you can only get one wallet per day. I got 3 of the other pet before getting this one.

I'm late to the game, but I want to echo what several of the other posters have said: Time Lost Wallets only drop once per day. So don't bother farming for them after one drops.

If you are farming for the pets like I am, your best option is to run the scenario until a wallet drops (it shouldn't take too long). Once a wallet drops, abandon the scenario and don't bother returning to the scenario on that day with that toon. Switch to an alt and run the scenario again until a wallet drops. Rinse and repeat until you get your pets. Unless you are extremely lucky, this will likely take several days.
