I dont recommend trying to catch this fish to farm Aquamarine, you are highly unlikely to catch one in the areas shown on the map. Fishing in these areas will give you a mix of something like:
60% Raw Redgill
27% Oily Blackmouth
And other randoms like Raw Nightfin Snapper, and Raw Mithril Head Trout

I just got one in Moonglade, at 44.53 by the big lake.
I guess I got lucky, since I only fished for about 20minutes. I got the following fishes:

48x Raw Redgill
12x Raw Sunscale Salmon
10x Raw Mithril Head Trout
10x Oily Blackmouth
9x Raw Nightfin Snapper
1x Bloated Redgill

The Bloated Regill also contained a green neck called "Iridium Chain of the Eagle", with the stats +6 Intellect and +6 Stamina

Around 1800 casts in moonglade, no bloated redgill. I have caught like 15 of those -- Pound Redgills. Starting to get frustrated.

Moonglade, 60, 48 -- Make sure you're in Lake Elune'ara. It was very painful, and I had to set up my Sell-O-Matic to autosell all the garbage fish no one wants ... stacks and stacks of it.

Took 2,510 casts to fish her out.

Overall, Redgill drops at about a 42% rate, Sunscale Salmon at 17%, Nightfin Snapper at 7% (because I started fishing before 6pm -- it starts to drop after 6pm server time).

This is a very, very painful exercise, and I was able to pull it off only because I was literally waiting on some server data loads to run on another computer ... there's no way in hell I'd just sit there and waste my time on this on purpose :) Good luck, hope you're on of those lucky people who got the ZG tiger on their first run (I spent 2 years farming, and still don't have it). Well, I have all of the limnologist fish except the bloated ones, so i decided to try for this one.

I read on the achievement page's comments that the highest drop spot for this one was Felwood -I had some archaeology to do up there so i figured i'd try a few casts. Why not? I just finished spending about 3 hours fishing for a silly vendorfish.

Well, it took 14 casts in the Ruins of Constellas lake and I got it. :)

Maybe it does take thousands of casts, but just remember it could be your NEXT cast as well!

After a sunday full of fishing, where I managed to obtain 3 other bloated fishs, i got blood on the tooth and went for this one. Just as I was about to call it a night a little bastard bit on my hook :-D

After about 950 casts I had a wow error, but here is the rest of my loots:

I read the comments here several times before and during the task of catching this fish.

I had 2027 casts in Moonglade. I stayed in the "Lake Elune" area of the map as it was listed as best. I moved over to the Nighthaven area and caught it on my 3rd cast.

I know it's a random chance, but it can certainly happen there. 12:20am server time.

finally im done ! got it in ELP , cuz i kinda hate Moonglade . also (but im not 100% sure) i think this fish has bigger chance to catch at night . most of the posts here say 'xx Nightfin Snappers' and thats after 18 ST .
