Blizzard must have overlooked this when converting stat changes in patch 3.0.

This appears to be the only item currently in game which uses the old spell power item wording, "increases damage done by magical spells and effects by up to xx", before spell damage and healing were merged into one stat, what we currently know as spell power.

i thought the old wording was "increases damage and healing done by magical spells and effects by up to XX"
not just "damage". so maybe this is intended wording and itemization to just increase spell damage and not spell healing. still kinda weird though. i just got it in strat and immediately thought, "wow that's a blast to the past."

Only item in the game that didn't lose its description based on spell power, As of patch 4.0.1 On top of the 20 Intellect it still says

Increases magical damage and effects by 25

I don't know what it is about this item, but they ALWAYS miss it when doing stat conversions. They didn't change "damage and healing" to "spell power" during the 3.0 conversions, and they didn't change "spell power" to intellect in the 4.0 conversions.

For some strange reason, if you wear this on a Worgen, it retains it's normal green color if you display it while in human form. However, if you switch to Worgen form, it turns orange. I added a couple of screenshots to demonstrate.

Edit: For some even stranger reason, this color change from the normal green to orange only happens with female Worgens, if the model viewer is to be trusted.

Oddly, even though in the Cataclysm most items with spellpower on them had their spellpower converted to intellect, this is the only item I've seen that still gives raw spellpower.

Still grants Spell Power in Legion, even with the complete removal of Spell Power on other items (weapons specifically; excludes some trinket procs) with Patch 7.0. This makes it a really solid helm for its level, since you gain a total of +35 Spell Power from it (including Intellect). You otherwise won't see that much Intellect on a helm until MoP.

This dropped off a Firelord in Molten Core after 3 runs. Your best bet is to hunt chests in the Outlands but you also do the weekly farm of Ragnaros and Nefarian for two blue drops. Good luck!
