Meatball is acquired as a follower via a simple quest (肉弹) in the Brawler’s Guild area, after defeating 肉弹 with a level 100 character. (During beta, you instead had to purchase the, now unavailable, 合约：肉弹.)

肉弹 was a rank 7 boss in the Pandaria Brawler’s Guild, but boss order was rearranged for Warlords of Draenor, so you can now face Meatball at rank 5.

(Announced in Brawler’s Guild: Season Two post from Blizzard.)

Update/Question: It is unclear what will become of Meatball with the removal of the Brawler’s Guild in the Legion expansion (and pre-patch, 7.0). I’m guessing players will no longer be able to acquire him. Has anyone seen confirmation?

I got this today on live server.

I played as Feral Druid with an item level of 623, and went through the brawler's guild rank 1-4 in about 2 hours. (I do have alot of raid experiance, so might not be as easy for everyone.)

Once I reached rank 5, Meatball appeared next to the entrance to the arena with a quest which awarded me with Meatball as an epic follower. This means that you do not have to spend any gold to get him.

This fight is complete bull%^&* now. I cannot for the life of me do this on my warlock. Since I lost my cast while moving I literally struggle with most of the bosses here. He 2-3 shots my voidlord and no matter how many orbs I grab he kills me.

These are the bosses that you must defeat before Meatball is available (in order): Goredome, Sanoriak, Smash Hoofstomp, Akama, Dippy, Kirrawk, King Kukala, Fran & Riddoh, Blat, Vian, Ixx, Mazhareen, Tyson Sanders, Nibbleh, Dominika, and Meatball.

This isn't really posted anywhere else, and is useful for researching the fights beforehand.

Just run through the purple stuff on the ground that drops during the night. Each one gives you a damage buff and I got up to 46 by the time I beat meatball so it stacks pretty high. Now you don't need to look for a stupid video to find out how to beat this boss. Running through stuff on ground is good on this fight.

Apparently he has a sword and axe as weapons, but they seem to be glitched, I just saw him walking around with the weapons in my Garrison, I went to get a closer look and then they disappeared, his weapon Ilvl is 651, I will try to get a screenshot if they pop up again.

Edit: Took him to the Garrison training dummies and his weapons popped up, posting a screenshot of his weapons at 651 Ilvl.

It appears that the Timed Battle trait is locked; so if you reroll the traits and stuff, which I just did, that one will remain.

As a frost mage I couldn't work out how I was going to get past him with the standard play style of freezing / CoC / Ice Nova, kiting, as he hit so damn hard. I found this post on another forum and it made it soooo easy.

Meh...I eventually won.

My problem was too much movement....as long as you use your barrier/Ice Wards and ele snares and run in a circle around him, it makes the fight exponentially easier than me running around with my head cut off trying to kite with cone + flows/frostbolt.

Oh and Thermal Void was useful since it has 100% uptime with Ice Lance Spam.

I had no tomes on me to switch out to Ice Barrier and Ice Ward, so I simply strafed around him till he started hitting a bit harder, then popped Mirror Images, Time Warp, etc.

FYI: The fight is over when he is around 30% remaining health

Meatball (to my surprise) is actually a female. After having one with the Inscription trait (from a reroll) she was a "начертательница" which means "Female scribe" instead of "начертатель" which is male scribe.

I noticed 2 things when I sent Meatball to train on a tank dummy;

When she died, I was able to pull her corpse by using leap of faith. This was actually quite schocking.

The other thing is that when I healed her a bit and sent her to fight the DPS dummy, the buff "Bloodthirst", which is supposed to heal her, doesn't heal at all!

Poor gnoll.

I'm willing to bet that it would take a Dev just a few minutes to make this work again. I mean, what possible reason would Blizz have to not allow players to do the Brawlers content, other than pure maintenance laziness?
