Completed by killing 50 other persons where both is using one of following:

Using the item grants you an extra button with abilities that you can use on another player using one of the 5 items. The ability your button will cast is randomized with each use:
直拳 - the weakest ability dealing 10% max hp.
大力横扫 - the medium ability dealing 20% max hp in a 4-yard cone.
跳跃攻击 - the strongest ability dealing 30% max hp, jumps 7 yards forward, and dealing damage on impact.

The items can be aquired from 查普曼 for 100g.
Check the different maps on his page, to find his exact location (he can be found in more than one graveyard).

Note 1: Places which are sanctuary like Dalaran, making it impossible to damage people. And therefore you cannot complete the requirement there.
Note 2: To avoid ress time, you can do it inside an instance. I did it in Siege of Ogrimar. And we got a kill every 5-10 seconds. When I died I lost the extra ability, so we had 1 person completing the achievement followed by the other.

Several things to keep in mind if you want to earn this achievement:
- You just need to buy the costume during Day of the Dead, the achievements can be earned all year round.
- If you have the costume on, you cannot be healed and you are silenced. This means that there is no way to regenerate health (except for passive regeneration)
- If you die you keep the costume buff, but you cannot use the costume attacks until you use the costume again.
- You can just chain kill one of your friends with the costume for the achievement. It doesn't matter if you kill someone with ressurrection sickness, you will still get credit.
- If multiple people are hitting a player, only the player who gets the killing blow receives credit.
- Level is irrelevant for this achievement, as all attacks deal percentage based damage. This means that you can kill a level one character and receive credit. However, level 1 characters have a lot of passive health regen, so they are impossible to kill. Consequently, if you want to do this achievement without dying a lot, you should do it on a level 1 character.

Here's the quick way to "farm" this achievement with your friends:

do two sets in your Equipment Manager: for full gear and for no gear; put these sets on your action bar to quickly change gear
put on your Contender's Costumes and locate yourselves near the graveyard
take off your gear and put it on again - your life should be about 15%
let your friends defeat you - it should be easy now because Contender's Costume skills take % of your life
take turns to manage the long waiting time for resurrection
profit!

Another easy way perfect for 2 players:

leave all your durability gear in bank, so that you won't pay repair bill
locate yourselves at graveyard
put on your Contender's Costumes
let your partner defeat you x times and resurrect at Spirit Healer (this will leave you with 50% life)
switch roles
profit!

The resurrection timer's brutal, could do with an aoe spirit healer like in battlegrounds or the timeless isle. I suppose it's thematically appropriate to spend most of the holiday dead.

Tip of the year:

This achievement is actually piss easy once I figured out how to trade efficiently :)

Gather a friend or two, and enter a new raid instance, like Siege of Orgrimmar. When you die and release, you will spawn immediately and without a corpse run. That means: No ress timer, no ghost run.

Stand at the point of ressurection and let your friend kill you. If you are more than 2 people, you can get double/triple etc killing blows instead. Just spam the Release button and you will spawn at the very same point again, making it easy for the person who's gathering, since you can start "loading" a jump or sweep directly after they die.

With 3 persons in the party, this will be done in a couple of minutes without a problem. It's better to let one person complete the achievement first, so you don't havce to wait for the item's cooldown to finish.

Was furious when I saw this achievement, but with this trick, I just wished there was more in the series :)

The fastet way to do this seemed to be as follows:

- group with a friend
- buy one costume each
- fly to a graveyard where you can work on teh achivement undisturbed
- remove all your gear
- place yourself near the spirit healer, at best with your back to a wall so the jumping ability does not require re-positioning
- kill each other with the abilities in turn
- after you die take resurrection sickness from the spirit healer for faster resurrection

it took about a 45 minutes or so to do the achivement including figuring out a good spot

When someone hits you with Jump Attack or Strong Sweep you get stunned and it's annoying, but since the stuns are buffs you can just right click to remove them instantly. And with a little macro you don't even have to click to remove them.

And to click the button to use the attacks you can use this macro.

Did it with six guys in my guild. Took our armor off, went to Siege of Orgrimmar. Six of us stood against the wall next to the entrance portal (so that nobody had to line up the leap ability, wall stops you going too far) and one person at a time did their 50 kills, which goes really fast with six naked targets to AoE, then we swapped. Insta-rez after each death, no cooldown and no run back.

1. Make a group with a friend.
2. Go to SoO and stay at the entrance.
3. Do a profile of Equip Management without gear and set it to the button 1.
4. Do other profile with full gear and set it to the button 2.
5. Add this macro and set it to the button 3.

The best way to do it is to take as many friends as possible and go inside Siege of Orgrimmar raid, right in front of the instance "door".
The reason to go to SoO is because when your friends die, then they click the resurrection button and they ress immediately without waiting for some timer or anything.

Have your friends use the special item and stack, then you just have to kill them using the special attacks that you are given to the special extra button.

I took 2 of my friends and i was killing them over and over again and i got all 50 kills in less than 10 mins.

When doing this with a friend, we tried many ways but found one of the fastest methods in my opinion.

The method

Make sure that both people involved (or more) puts gear into bank so you do not have to pay loads of gold to fix gear at the end.
Fly to the graveyard in Elwynn Forest (near the gates of Stormwind) and stand in this location: screenshot. Make sure you stand on top of the friend who is about to die (facing the post), and then spam the button to attack him. Your friend will need to use the following macro to resurrect instantly (will give you resurrection sickness).
/run RepopMe()AcceptResurrect()AcceptXPLoss()
Repeat until you and your friend have the 50 kills achievement.

Notes

When using the jump attack you will hit the post making your character not move and you will be standing in the same spot.
This method is very handy if you are not level 90 (for the Siege of Orgrimmar method).

Protip: these kills net Halaa battle tokens. Get a raid group together, get naked, and punch each other silly in the graveyard. I racked up all 170 tokens in half an hour.

Note for hunters: Your Spirit Bond still will heal your character. Also you can still use Deterrence and Disengage (nice preparing for the jump strike).

Just heads up for anyone trying to do this using 2 accounts with a low level character on one of them. Its gonna be hard. Lvl 1-10 regens hp so fast out of combat that you wont have enough dmg to kill him. Only way I managed to get a kill is to land somewhere where low lvl will aggro something that will get him into combat but out of reach of enemy so he wont die (say a log in the forest). After the kill you need to either res a low by yourself (and wait 1 min to reapply the costume by doing so) or to carry dead guy again using 2 seat fly mount from the grave yard to the same spot.

Something I found out after doing this achievement was that the icons on the action button change.

The icons are Jab, Rising Sun Kick, and Heroic Leap.

The icons do correspond to the abilities. Heroic Leap is the jumping attack.

As a destro lock, I am able to use Ember Tap, Dark Regeneration and Healthstone while in costume. Not sure if that's intended, but I'm not complaining! ;-)

FASTEST WAY TO EARN ACHIEVEMENT OF THE CALAVERA AND OTHERS.

First don't do the same mistake as I did, don't get all exited and buy all the costumes.. you just need one =P

A excellent way to do this is by getting in a group of 5 and if you cant get 5 people, just get at least one more other than you haha.

Go to Shadowfang Keep (you spawn pretty much at the door when you die)
As you spawn in, to your left you'll see a wall and some barrels.
Have your party stand on top of each other and on top of the barrels and you will be facing them below the barrels.
Make sure all of them are wearing the costumes; including you. (any color would do).

Proceed to attack them against the wall. The reason you are doing this against the wall, is because when you get the jump ability you wont have to back up to jump, you'll simply just press it and you'll land on them and they will take damage. As they release and walk back in the dungeon, during the time you'll keep pressing your ability till you get jump again and luckily when they are all position and ready you would have the jump attack.

If you do it this way, they will have low HP when they walk in, and in two attacks you can finish them off. So if you do a Jump and a sweep attack, instant kill. But some times it may take 3 ability hits if you get a jab haha.

Doing this will speed up the process even if you were only two people doing this. Kill your friend, he releases, quickly try to get jump attack ready to go so when he goes up against the wall it will take about two hits to kill him, he release again, comes back with low HP, rinse and repeat. Once that person gets the achievement switch. You'll be done fairly quickly trust me. Hope this helps, Sorry for horrible grammar and spelling.

The kills as a contender count for Halaa Battle Token and I just raked in 200 of them just for being in the raid with everyone else.

Simple and fast way to do this:
1) Find a friend who wants this too, both of you dump all gear that has durability in your bank.
2) Make a macro:

/tar Spirit Healer
/run RepopMe()AcceptResurrect()AcceptXPLoss()

3) The person who dies should use that macro whenever they have died, and simply step a couple yards towards the spirit healer so it works.
4) Go to 47.11, 40.41 in Stormwind and have the dying guy stand there, while the killer can line up between the two columns there to ensure the jump action always hits.
5) Once the killer has had his 50 kills, swap roles and get the killed guy's achievement too!

Super fast way to get this with one or more others.

Get your costumes on and group up.
Port / Hearth to Vale of Eternal sorrows and enter SoO.
Remove all your gear.
Take turns at getting all the way to Calavera like so:

"victims" stack on top of each other.
First attacked whacks them repeatedly. When victims die, release spirit immediately. You'll end up right at the entrance again. (Ideally you'll be standing there to begin with, you'll figure out the spot really quickly.)
Multikill!
Once you've got the achievement, swap places and next killer goes for it.

Just make sure that you keep your costume updated (10 min cooldown)

Extremely simple achieve when done right.

1. Put a group together of preferably 5 or more people.
2. Head to SoO (setting it to normal is fine) and put a marker down in the nearest corner of the starter room and stack.

Make sure everyone has the buff from the item and have 1 person spam their abilities to kill the stacked group. It would be best to simply let one person get their 50 and rotate so they can continually spam without having to res. Being snug in a corner makes the abilities like charge more effective. Keep in mind that the punch is extremely short range, less than normal melee range so you basically want to be stacked directly on everyone else when its your turn to attack the group.

Hi, I just finished my Calavera achievement and I am so happy. I was even able to get it in the heart of the festivities in Durotar. For those of you who want to be able to complete the achievement and be around all the other celebrators here are some tips.
1. Stash all your items with durability in the bank.
2. Be ready to be defeated.
3. Use the angel to res yourself after you are defeated for instant respawn.
4. Rez sickness lowers you hp and makes food heal you quicker.
5. All the moves do percentage based health damage so your hp pool doesn't matter.
6. Now go fight to the death with all the others contenders.
7. Let yourself be defeated so that all the other people are able to get the credit that they deserve. :)

Might be a daft question, but do these achievements require Day of the Dead?
The achievement states doing it whilst "wearing a contender's outfit purchased during Day of the Dead", and the item itself doesn't say anything to the effect of "Requires Day of the Dead".

How I did this
1. Get at least 1 friend
2. Get a Day of the Dead costume
3. Put all gear with durability in bank (even if it is in your bags)
4. Go to Redridge
5. Go to the graveyard across the river of Lakeshire
6. Activate costume (remember to renew this at times, and it is not disabled on death)
7. Have a person kill them self, and take rez sickness
8. That person flies up, and lands so their health is low (the tree can be used as guidance, this helped me a lot)
9. Have the person getting the achievement kill them (if the person had a good fall, this takes 1-2 hits)
10. The person accepts rez sickness, and repeats the process

This achievement is the best way to make 哈兰作战勋章. Gather a lot of people that will beating themself, and few healers that will non stop ressing dead people. Few minutes and all players had tokens for both mounts.

Just got this achievement with a great group via the group finder, I had tried with a Halaa battle group but I didn't get any kills and was almost giving up but suddenly a little group popped up and I joined.

This is just to let you all know that there are still great people out there playing the game who help others when they can.

Equip all your raid gear, save to an equipment set, say Armor.
Unequip everything with stats, save to an equipment set, say Naked.

Put the following macros as your 1 and 2 keys:
/equipset Naked
/equipset Armor

(The names here have to match the ones in your equipment manager, and I believe it's case sensitive.)

Every time you respawn, press 1, then 2. Now you're at like 10% health, much faster to kill you. Then just hover your mouse over the release button while just inside SoO and this just takes a couple minutes.

Additionally, you can set a raid marker up near the respawn point as a guide so you never miss the Jump Attack.

For Alliance players I would like to suggest to do this in the Stockades.
Your ghost will show up right outside the instance so it takes two seconds to run to the portal, but Stormwind is also THE capital for Alliance and it is easy and fast for low level characters to get there aswell.

You can exploit this event to farm 170 Halaa Battle Tokens within minutes to buy the two War Talbuks.(as well as getting your achievements). This is because killing your own faction players with the costumes on will grant you tokens.

- Gather as much people as you can, with a good number of healers.
- Go to Halaa in Nagrand.
- Healers don't put their costumes on.
- Everyone stack on the same spot, against a wall
- Have one guy use his DPS abilities (Being against a wall will allow him to not move during the jump attack and just spam his abilities).
- Every time he kills someone, everyone in the group gets a token, even the player who died.
- Healers just spam rez on anyone dead (assign groups to avoid rezing the same people)
- Once the player doing the DPS gets his 50/50 achievement, swap for someone else.

Basically, if you have 20 players in your raid, the person doing the DPS will get 20 kills towards his achievement every 10 seconds, and everyone will get 20 tokens.
The more people you have the better. Try having about 1/3 of your raid as rezzers. The faster the rez the faster the kills.

For anyone info: After 6.2 they made this a toy and apparently broke it.

After the first kill it seems to break and leaves you at 1 health. But it also wont give you a single tick for the achievement sadly.

Atleast thats the issue me and my boyfriend are currently having. I hope they fix it soon.

The old method of going in instances still isnt working. In fact, we cant get it to work unless were dueling.

If your both DKs, get the Talent Purgatory and you can actually get 2 kills per duel instead of 1.

A couple of basic pointers:

1.) You need to initiate the fight by requesting a duel - right click your opponent's portrait and select 'Duel'. If you don't the game treats the fight as a practice match-up and you won't get any kill credits.

2.) You both need to be wearing a contender's costume in order to get the kill credit.

Dueling seems to be the only option to make this work now (2015). Being in raid or just any PvE area makes it impossible to "kill" the other person and get credit.
However, you don't kill your opponent anymore (becasue you are in duel stance), so you can do the achievement everywhere you want.

But of course there is another downside, there is now a shared cooldown of 1 minute by all the costumes, and your opponent will loose the costume. So after every "kill" you have to wait until cd is ready and your opponent can wear the costume again.

Best solution is to get a group together, kill people one by one, so by the time you done the others, cooldown on first should be ready again.

Achievement does NOT NEED EVENT to be up to get credits.

* Apparently holy priests do die on each defeat, so make sure not to do this in holy spec.
* DK's with Purgatory talent and Mages with Cauterize are not killable and won't give credit, unlearn these talents.

You no longer die when losing to someone for this, so it doesn't matter where you are while working on it. First, find a partner to help out. Both of you equip the costume, then duel. Once the previous loser has their costume on again, duel and let them win. Keep taking turns until you both have the achievement. Don't bother healing between duels, as this will only make the achievement take longer. It takes about an hour, and I'm sure there could be more efficient methods with more people involved. This is pretty simple though, and only needs 2 people.

Achievement seems to be changed.
You need to duel a player and defeat it with the costumes to get the credit. Simply smashing others will lower their health but not give credit.

Because there's a 1 minute cooldown on the costume and it is removed when you lose, it's quickest to trade wins.

More notes:
- Make a naked gear set and switch between that and your normal gear to lower your health faster.
- Warlocks are ideal for this, seeing they can burning rush or lifetap to set themselves really low to make it even quicker.
- Don't do it in Draenor. With the gladiator sanctum regen and proc and the followers, it's a lot slower to do it there.

All in all, with the 1 min cooldown on the costume, expect to spend an hour to get this. More people speed up the individual process.

This goal can now be accomplished in your garrison at the graveyard.

There is also now a 30 second delay between dying and being able to don the costume again. The cooldown doesn't seem to be visible until after you die.

Additionally, you don't need Repop() etc at your garrison graveyard.

You must also 'duel' the person and both parties must wear the costume else the 'kills' do not count, and you will be unable to 'kill' the other person.

Achievement says "Defeat X contenders while wearing a contender's outfit purchased during Day of the Dead.". So I may presume it doesn't require the achieve to be gotten DURING the Event, just the toys to be bought DURING it.

Easiest way to do this is via dueling.

1. Grab a friend, guildie, stranger or raid group that has a contender costume(s).
2. Meet up anywhere you can duel.
3. Both put on costume
4. Start the duel
5. Have one person stand there and the other do all the punching.
6. Once the duel is won start a new duel immediate
7. The person who lost the duel should start punching the person who won (this prevents health regen)
8. Once the cooldown for the costume is up the loser should stop punching
9. Once out of combat don the costume and let the other person start attacking you again.
10. Rinse and repeat.

Special Note if a warlock is involved and they have life tap have them use it right before putting on their costume for you to start punching them.

As of right now (start of the event) Legion food 斗士大餐 works while transformed into a costume making you basically invulnerable in 1-on-1 fights. Easy way to annoy everybody doing the achievement fighting fairly but hey, gets you an achievement faster.

If you intend to do this "the right way", here is how you can prepare:

Use a healing spec (or class with self-healing capabilities) if you have one, as after every attempt you will have to recover your health. Otherwise, just buy some food. Downtime in between duels will be the main problem.
If you can (passively) heal your group, with abilities such as 仁慈光环, this is very beneficial. People will recover faster and use their toy instead of standing around waiting. No one wants to duel with an empty health bar, after all.
Turn on "Show All Name Plates" (Key Bindings > Targeting) and bind "Extra Action Button 1" (Key Bindings > Action Bar) to something easily accessible. I used 'F', but it doesn't matter as long as you can comfortably use it while moving.
Join a group. You should find some if you search for "Day of the Dead" / "Calavera", or make your own (ideally during peak hours). In them, people will be duelling each other, which means you have plenty of targets to choose from.

Use one of the toys sold by 查普曼, and join the fray. Your goal is to survive for at least the one minute required to not have any wait time, heal yourself if you lose the buff, and otherwise steal as many "kills" (no one will actually die) as you can.

Tips for the dueling itself:

Target players on low health (hence the nameplates). Watch everyone's cast bars religiously. If you see them cast any of the spells mentioned here, they are a target as well as a potential threat. You will accomplish nothing if you try to attack anyone not under the effect of 绽放玫瑰, 夜魔, 魅紫幻影, 桑托之阳, or 白色猫头鹰, so don't waste any time with them.
Never run into 大力横扫 if you can avoid it, while having them run into yours (should they insist on chasing you, which frequently happens when you're on low health yourself). It's often best to use yours while not hitting anyone (on the sidelines) until you get one of the other 2 abilities, as they are far more likely to actually hit somebody and net you kill credits.
Do not stand where everyone else is brawling (usually in the center) or you will get stunned and killed right away by someone else's 跳跃攻击. You should try to hit those large clusters of people with yours if you can, but then immediately escape before you get hit
Contrary to how lacklustre it feels, 直拳 is actually your strongest asset: Not only can you use it while moving, but it also doesn't "give away" the fact that you're a target (as opposed to recovering/waiting on the CD) as easily if people don't pay close attention to the visuals

You essentially want to stand a bit off, sneak in from behind and punch those already low to rack up the kills fast. The entire achievement took me approximately 30 minutes this way.

For 2016:

Duels are no longer required. I just got this done pretty quickly and I'd suggest finding a farming group for it in your premade group finder and then meeting up at the local graveyard (Stormwind for Alliance, in my case).

As everyone in the group bashes their heads against each other, I found that simply focusing on using the Leap ability to damage/stun multiple people at once is best. I quickly would discard the other two abilities by leaving the mosh pit and using them against thin air and then going back into the thick of it when I had another Leap available. I'd also highly recommend binding your Extra Action Button so that you can be as mobile as possible dodging in and out of the crowd.

Finally, while damage is HP based, if you aren't a healing class I'd recommend taking your gear off so that you can heal right back to full with a few ticks of food in between battles.

literally stagged this achievement while multiboxing on 2 accounts

In patch 7.3.2 there is a bug/feature that prevents some players to defeat others if the player has his/her pvp turned on and the others have their pvp turned off.

Finding it hard to find another player with the costume? Have player debuff when they almost lost the duel? Not an issue at all. Go to your WoW account and create a test-account and create a character in the same server as your main. Since both accounts share the toys, they both have access to the costume. Now you can easily solo this by starting WoW 2 times and alt-tab to have both your characters duel with eachother. No interference from other players, success guaranteeed!

(guildy tipped me about this, it worked out great, just finished it today 8 March 2019).

Can confirm as of 11/2/22 that you can still use starter accounts and alt tab between them. I just made orcs and stacked them together in the valley of trials starter area and put the costume as 1 on my action bar, then alt tabbed to apply it, went back to my main screen and applied costume and could aoe them down very quickly.

Ok after a lot of trial and error, me and a friend figured out the fastest way to do this.

Setup
1. create a lfg group in custom. invite your friend, then invite 4 of your friend's alts. pass lead, have your friend invite four of your alts. you should have a raid of 10 total.
2. try to make sure the characters you invite dont have the weird durotar phasing from shadowlands or bfa stuff.
2. bring all the characters in this group to the front gates of org. park your alts on the line that separates durotar and org (the dirt/the metal).
3. have one person stay put on one character while the other hops alts.
4. the toy cd is NOT shared between characters.

Farming the achievemnt
1. the person getting funneled wins sits on their character and uses the extra action button attacks to quickly reduce the alt hopper to low hp to trigger a win (youll know this occurs when their costume is removed, and your counter goes up if you are tracking the achievement). you DO NOT NEED TO BE HOSTILE to this person, as long as you hit them with the aoe of the skills you will reduce their hp. there is no need to start a duel or anything like that.
2. alt hopper - you log in, step into durotar (the dirt), pop your costume toy, get hit, and your costume should disappear and you should kneel for a few seconds.
3. run back into org (the metal on the floor), and log out - this will make your logout instant instead of 20 seconds.
4. hop onto a different toon.
5. repeat.

this streamlines a few things - you dont need to wait for toy cd for anyone - the alts will have their toys up when you log into them. it also means the person attacking keeps their costume and never loses it, so you are only limited by your ability to get through loadscreens on alts. the instant-logout minimizes waiting. also, because your are getting reduced to low hp and hopping, your alts will stay low hp. this means that it usually will only take one hit from the attacker to 'trigger' a win. theres no need to mess with buggy duels either. it went EXTREMELY quickly this way.

one thing to keep in mind - the abilities the attacker gets rotate when you use them, and they all have slightly different effective ranges - for the punch and the sweep, its fine to be hugging the other person, but for the leap you want to step back 5-10 yards so your aoe hits em.

I did this back in 2018 and its much easier now to complete.

Literally.

A guildie and me stood on the bridge between Val and Thaldraszus.

-Not in a party. We did not /duel. Just stand together and both put the contenders toy on then you can fight, one person won then the other did etc etc.

The toy when both people use it makes it so that you can "fight" if you /duel, it removes that. Hope this helps!

Even if you do this with another player, who will willingly let you beat them up, this achievement is really tedius, and sometimes it won't work in 3 wins.

Something to look for though:
-Flare means one of you won. It will make piff! sound
-It seems that it has a higher chance for either of you to win, if both engage in combat
-Sometimes it felt like exiting the costume and healing up worked, but probably not need to be 100% full hp
-If the counter was stuck, I just went out of the costume, healed up and tried again after half a minute or so
-Even though the opponent is at 1 HP, do one more hit for the killing blow!

Doing 1-20 took probably almost 30 minutes.

Edit: Actually. This is pretty fun, if you're inviting more people. We were able to get 2 wins in a row, by hitting eachother, in a group of 3. Use LFG tool and get minimum 3 people! Also feels less buggy when you're more than 2.

Edit 2: Eventually made a raid, and people had really much fun! Go for it. The more the merrier!
