this achievement is done by jumping as the casts finishes, that way you dont get rooted in place.
Kinda like that trash mobs in stonecore, be in the air as the casts finishes, and you dont get rooted.

Throughout the fight, Asaad will randomly cast Static Cling. Just before the cast time is finished, jump off the ground and you will avoid the root. Then simply move into the 'safe zones' to avoid the storms and repeat the process.

Note: This is an INDIVIDUAL achievement. If one person fails the rest of the group can still get it!

Levitate trivializes this achievement. While it's easy to do it without Levitate, a dedicated priest can easily help any non-tank with latency issues or slow reaction times get this achivevement. Simply buff it before the fight and any time someone gets hit by the Chain Lightning.

actually doing this achieve makes this fight alot easier. Before I read this and didn't know I could jump to avoid the hardest part of the fight. Next time we killed the boss.

You can gimp this achievement like the old sarth one by having the person that needs it die before the fight.

This achievement is very simple once you understand how it all works. You are looking for a cast called 'Static Cling' - it is about a 1 second cast.

The first static cling will be cast a few seconds into the fight. To ensure that no one messes it up, simply have everyone stand still and wait for the cast. As soon as you see the cast, jump. From then on, he will always cast the cling after a chain lightning. Simply wait for the chain lightning to finish casting, and then as soon as you see the cling, jump.

You are most likely jumping too late, not early.

I did this achievement today and had a difficult time trying to avoid the static cling as I'm an oceanic player and play with a normal latency of about 400ms. I found that just spamming jump the whole time as a melee worked perfectly fine. I don't believe you need to watch for the cast as I litterally just spammed space bar and succeeded.

I'm positive this is a full proof method for anyone with my latency having difficulty reacting to the cast in time. If you're a caster just watch for the chain lightning and spam jump as fast as you can when you see it cast as the static cling will follow either immediately after or a few seconds after.

He nearly always casts static cling 1-2 seconds after chain lightning. bubble didn't work, wish i checked this sooner!

I got the achievement simply by spamming the hell out of my space bar. I didn't even wait for the boss to start casting Static Cling, I just jumped thoughout the fight. Either I was incredibly lucky or the game doesn't have the time to notice that you have landed before you jump again.

This achievement was a pain because for some reason I could never get it perfectly, and I tried literally everything you can think of. So what I came up with was this.

1. Using Hand of Freedom will not get you the achievement.

I had 2 pallies keep Freedom on me and I technically never got the debuff, but I also didn't get the achievement (ironically the pallies did because of jumping.

2. Spamming Space bar works, but it's not 100% and you're going to be pissed when you're not in that percentage that it works for.

3. Dodging the first Static and then dying to the thunderstorm DOES work.

This is how I ended up doing it, I was the tank, but it was a guild run and the hunter pet tanked, he doesn't do a whole lot of melee damage and is easily healed through on even leather. So if you REALLY can't get it, dodge the first one, then die to thunderstorm and wait it out, you get the achievement.

I just did this achievement, here is how i did it:

1) Use DBM or Bigwing(or a addon that tells you when he casts Static Cling)

2) When he casts it, you must jump, jump when the cast is at 50%

*Edit: YOU HAVE TO STRAIF JUMP

DK's AMS also does not work. When I tried it, I used AMS for the first one, jumped the next, AMS the next, and followed this pattern the entire fight and still no achievement.

Q: How do you avoid static cling in real life?

A: Bounce

The answer to this Achievement is not timing or anything like that. All you do is spam your jump button during and after the cast. In other words "Bounce" to avoid Static Cling. I realized the answer to this achievement while doing my laundry. So far I have successfully avoided static cling 5 times in a row using this method.

Quick Tip: Don't run around and jump, just jump in place. The game registers your feet in the place you started to jump until you actually land.

For priests, I recommend putting Levitate (with glyph) on several of your keybinds, I put mine on 1-5. As soon as I'm hit by chain lightning, I just facerolled the numbers, made it easy to always stay in the air. Doing it like this, I think a fast priest with decent latency can keep at least 2 people levitating at all times.

I'm getting varied results with 42ms latency, even watched slow motion fraps of myself mid air as the cast ended and cling effect took place, I'm at the point that I'm just blaming the server not realising my clients location correctly, quick enough.

I spec'd marksman for this so I could dps the boss down a lot, get two master's calls in before he starts forming the triangle on the ground, and then died outside of the triangle.

Apparently, while master's call provides immunity from static cling the game still technically registers it as hitting you, by therefore you can not get the achievement this way. :(

I have managed to get this achievement by running away from Asaad when he casts 闪电链.
I do however know for a fact there is an incredible range on the 静电缠握. So I'm not sure if this was something possible in the beginning (I completed this within the first two weeks of Cata Release) and was fixed, or what?

Regardless of the past, it is NOW only possible to complete in the same way as 克莉斯塔萨 and 极度冰寒

For any dks out there looking to get this achievey, listen up! Using 反魔法护罩 will make you immune to 静电缠握 but it WILL NOT count as you completely avoiding the spell. You're better off just jumping. Unless you lost your spacebar in a horrible spacebar losing accident. Then good luck to you.

Srsly tho, AMS doesn't work for the achievey, but it will avoid the effect.

Very easy method:
1. Jump first static cling
2. Die when he does his aoe
3. Watch yourself get the achievement when your group kills him

This achievement is as of now bugged. I completed it 3 times the last 4 days, didn't get the debuff once and still haven't gotten the achievement.

After now what must be i would say roughly 60 attempts, including a 10 wipes with guild session, im almost certain this achievement depends completely on your frame rate and internet connection, almost everyone else has got this achievement and has no issues with avoiding the cling, for me however even if i use it still doesn't register, whether i jump at the start, middle or end of the cast makes no difference, often i get clinged even when in mid-air, ive tried spamming jump and it doesn't work, you have to be alive for the whole encounter for it to count since 4.0.6 and its now impossible to use the "levitate method" due to the adds.

Guess i'll just be stuck on 27/28 forever then :(

Just got this achievement on my hunter. If it helps the boss casts static cling right after he casts Chain Lightning.
Also i jumped when the cast bar was in the middle and completely avoided it. Hope this helps :)

While you do have to stay alive for the whole encounter to get this achievement now, it's incredibly to get. He casts static cling much less frequently now,, just earned this and my Glory of the Cataclysm Hero meta about 10 minutes ago. He only cast static cling three times in the encounter.

Don't bother trying to time your jumps for the static cling. Just after he uses his chain lightning, start spamming the jump button untill it's done casting. Repeat untill kill.

Just managed to get this achievement on my hunter.

When Asaad starts to cast Static Cling (your DBM will alert you), just jump and Disengage. Make sure you have enough space to stay in the air during the whole Disengage.

People, think Keristrasza. This is how you do this achievement. Exactly the same way. Jump. Of course if you're a caster it'll be more tricky since you're probably going to gimp your dps jumping around.

I've tried so many times to get this achieve legitimately by jumping. Guess it doesn't work! Luck should be on your side many many times.
I've already tried jumping the first one and ding in 4.0.6 but it doesn't work. Now I have another theory to Jump the first one, die and before finishing Asaad being battle rezzed (or using SoulStone). Can someone please try this and post here?

I've always tried to just mash the space bar and jump like crazy to get this achievement. Never got it. I've tried like a dozen times and still no luck, it seems I either miss one or come down at the wrong time. So tonight, I just focused on his cast bar, and when he started to cast, I waited like half a second, and then jumped, just once. My dps was a little low (no one noticed since I'm the tank), and I wasn't doing all kinds of flashy moves, just sundering and shield slam so I could focus on the cast bar and time my jumps; and low and behold, got the achievement tonight. So it seems that steady, calculated jumps worked for me, while constantly jumping never did.

In reading the spell effects for static cling....

Effect #1 Apply Aura: Periodically trigger spell
Interval: 500 milliseconds

I'm looking at the interval 500 milliseconds...I'm not a wowhead spell details expert, but I'm guessing this indicates that if you are not in the air while his cast bar passes 80% or at 1 second since it's a 1.25 second cast, then you will get hit. So this server latency hocus pocus for being in the air at the end of the cast is seemingly incorrect as I usually sit around 20-40ms latency and as the tank I need to hit the quake from the stonecore mobs (referenced above as a comparison) every time. This cast is a little faster so when I missed it the first time, I tried jumping "early"...only it was too early and I was on the ground when the cast bar completed, HOWEVER I DID NOT GET ROOTED.

For all priests out there, Levitate works, both here to avoid Static Cling in order to get the achievment and in Stonecore in order to avoid getting a lot of damage on the trash.

Just made it a few seconds ago in a group of 4, this is how I did it as a Death Knight:

Managed to use 2 Anti magic shell on the 2 static cling cast & kept jumping while having AMS for more reassurance :)

Hope this info helps other DKs, good luck with this lame achievement :P

Solo'd this achievement by nuking him down in just 30 seconds. He didn't even have enough time to cast static cling, or at least I wasn't afflicted by it at any point of the encounter. However, I wasn't awarded the achievement. Need to be in a group or give him enough time to cast it at least once?

Just soloed this as a 502 guardian druid, there is a pattern to the static cling casts, the first cast does not follow the pattern and happens around 12 secs into the encounter, the static clings after that always come after a chain lighting. Mash the spacebar when you are expecting one, I got the achievement using this method.

I've just completed this achievement solo as a level 90 affliction warlock (ilevel 495). I can confirm that the way it worked for me was to watch for Static Cling cast and jump during that time (the smashing-the-space-bar method bar didn't really appeal to me). More precisely, I jumped once Asaad was about 75% done casting the spell. That's a bit more than half a second so you've got to watch it pretty closely. I let him kill me if I got rooted not to be forced to do the entire instance again, but that goes without saying.

To minimize room for errors, I busted out all I had at my disposal (i.e., Grimoire of Sacrifice, Doomguard, Dark Soul: Misery, Potion of the Jade Serpent, and Flask of the Warm Sun). With good (but not perfect because I prioritized staring at the cast bar) rotation the fight took about 1-2 minutes. During that time I had to jump four or five times. HTH.

As of 5.3, if you have a full group of geared 90s this is trivial - just burn him before he can get off a cast. My group did 414.2K dps and he didn't cast a single static cling.

Just solo'ed this as a Frost DK, iLvL 509. Just pop everything at the start, jump once his Static Cling cast reaches about 50-75% completion, and he should start casting his Lightning Storm, then just finish him off. I got my kill in exactly 30 seconds.

Soloed as a 562 Enhancement shaman on level 90. Pop heroism, ascendance and nuke him in 8 seconds and got the achievement.

Doing this for 大地的裂变英雄的荣耀. I can confirm that as of 6.0 (and at lvl100) any form of tactics are redundant.

1. Jump in.
2. Nuke.
3. Profit.

An update for anyone like me who was late to the party: no strategy is needed anymore at level 100. You will likely defeat Asaad before he ever has a chance to cast the ability, and thus automatically get the achievement. Happy hunting!

6.2.3 you can burst the boss and achie will pop, it's not necesary to wait for the cast and dodge it. i just did it now. 21/06/2016 4:44 kazzak eu. Have fun and Good luck.

BFA , 8.3 , just nuke the boss and you get the achievement. Usually, now, any skill you use is one shot.
