Do not complete the quest until you have taken the legendary shot you are after. If the legendary character is not there on the first run, just try another go until they appaer. But do not finish the quest (so either do not take photos or be in a raid group).

If the rare doesn't spawn on a run, can I exit immediately and try again or do I have to go the whole length of the run?

Since the meta achievement became available, Nat Pagle has not been up yet, right? Sometimes I think I'm looking up so many things I forget lol.

Is it just me of has the World quest been in the same place in Ohn' ahran plains 3 resets in a row?

Here's a one line script you can paste in chat to check which ones are currently active based on which world quests are up right now:

It will only print out which photographs you can get during the current world quest rotation.

World quests reset biweekly (NA: Tuesday morning and Friday morning; EU: Wednesday morning and Saturday evening.)
If you are unlucky there may not be any Cataloging world quests active at all.

Each world quest will always spawn its specific legendary person in the same spot every time.
Make sure you don't complete the world quest until you have your photograph snapped. Then you can retry if you miss it!
You do not need to finish the world quest to get credit for the achievement.
You can make it easier for yourself by creating a targeting macro and spamming it during the ride
Here's a macro for Oculeth that you can spam during the ride that will make a sound and a raid warning when you are near him:
/cleartarget
/tar Chief Telemancer Oculeth
/stopmacro
/run PlaySound(8959)RaidNotice_AddMessage(RaidBossEmoteFrame,UnitName("target").." nearby, get your camera ready!",ChatTypeInfo)
Change the name after /tar in the second line of the macro to whichever NPC you are currently looking for. Exact names are listed in bold below.

Where to go for each photo:

Chen Stormstout – Waking Shores (east of Obsidian Bulwark)
Abu'Gar – Waking Shores (Life Vault Ruins)
Wrathion – Thaldrazsus (balloon ride, Algeth'era)
Time-Warped Mysterious Fisher – Thaldrazsus (raft, south of Valdrakken)
Nat Pagle – Ohn'ahran Plains (The Mallakh)
Elder Clearwater – Ohn'ahran Plains (Forkriver Crossing)
Chief Telemancer Oculeth – The Azure Span

Unfortunately it is entirely possible to have ZERO photography world quests active at a time, so this one can take several weeks to do. I wish they would have made it to where you only needed a few, and not all of them.

Edit: Still no Nat Pagle, seems to be that he's been out of rotation for four consecutive weeks now, kind of cruddy that this achievement entirely hinges on his WQ being up. Side note as well you don't have to finish the WQ to gain credit towards the achievement, once to snap the photo you can leave the balloon or raft.

How is it that blizzard still hasn't figured out that maybe things are better on a rotation than having them spawn randomly. I need 2 more and I've been waiting for 2 weeks for either to spawn. Oh well, had worse. At least we're all in this boat together. (:

After so long working on Across the Isles, this is the one achievement that's blocking my progress. Practically begging Blizzard to let me do a world quest.

Bad RNG - I only need 2 for the meta achievement. Only consolation is that they will be up for 3,5 days IF and when they are up - not like the storms (but I luckily finished those the other day)
So lets all hope we will have them next week.

I bet they went overboard with the 'world quests' this expansion so much that not only did they f* up the Storm ones (reducing to 1 from 2 always active, then recently back), the ones here also seemed to be bugged, since the ohnaran plains one, South east seems to be repeting for 3 weeks in a row now, and the Nat Pagle one, which seem to pop around the middle of the zone won't.

And there's also the 2nd in Thaldraszus I need, south of Valdrakken.

So many WQ cluttering the maps, include here the Racing WQs (IMO 'move' the gold rewards to other existing ones and keep the npcs in place, like the Achievements, which don't need the WQs to be active anyway and those are less than needed, since you would mostly run them for achievements anyway and some have bad lag problems too).

Central Ohn'aran and SW Thaldraszus I need, and this week the game 'decided' there wouldn't be ANY of Cataloging WQ AT ALL? I've ticket my WQ addon to show all, and can see there area a lot of them up, they really need to rethink about too much cluttering, some of them even have achievement attached. Too much of something and 'something' might break, which seems the case.

I managed to finish every single achievement for the puppy mount, and this achievement is the only thing holding me back, I'm fairly sure it's bugged at this point

Better put this in a macro, in a different but accessible keybind to spam when in the vehicle. The Time-warped Mysterious Fisher turns into YOU when you get close (after first fall, to the left shore). Delete the name you ticked off or the entire macro after completing it.

Confirming Abu'Gar was up on NA realm Arathor! 9:24pm realm time (I don't know if that matters). Oddly enough, I don't know if I just missed him first time around. I let the quest fail, rode the raft again and he was there!

Things i found out, to find Nat Pagle: u need to have trained Lucky Rock at the Expedition Supplies trainer thingy next to Pathfinder Jeb in Dragonscale Basecamp in The Waking shores. With Lucky Rock u can see Legendary's. You can check if u have trained it: it will be on your bar when u r on the cataloging ride.
The right ride for Nat Pagle u will find in Thunderspine Thicket, coords 52/57 in Ohn'aran Plains. He will be on the bridge near the end of the ride, so don't shoot all wildlife before u r there. U can restart the ride if u didn't completed it.

"A World Awoken" has some awful achievements, but this one is very annoying because of the big RNG. Hoping for the missing characters twice a week is stupid. In the worst case they will spawn in a few months. Be patient Taivan, you will be mine some day.

Nat Pagle is currently available in the EU, 27.07.24 until reset 31.07.24. Quest starts at 52, 57 in Ohn'ara Plains. Nat is on the left side on top of the bridge near the very end of the tour. I have submitted a screenshot, the coords for Nat is approximately 48, 47.

For some reason the Chen Stormstout one in the Waking Shores doesn't show on the main page notable world quest section on wowhead even though both of the Waking Shores cataloging world quests are up right now wowhead is only showing the Abu'Gar one.
