This achievement and the Hearthstone adventure of the same name are certainly a reference to the song "One Night in Bangkok" from the musical "Chess."

Compare the Hearthstone: One Night in Karazhan trailer to Murry Head's original "One Night in Bangkok" from "Chess."

Part of me suspects the Chess minigame might've had an influence on the choice of this very niche reference.

You get this achievement after you summon Nightbane.

Upon opening the door after zoning into Karazhan, the following emote happens:"The strange chill of a dark presence winds through the air." This starts the timer.
You have a STRICT timing to make it to Opera, kill Opera and click the first 灵魂残片. You have 8 minutes from the moment you zone in, to click the first crystal.
From there on each 灵魂残片 you click add a bit of time to your timer. But its very very tight.
If you fail, you will get an emote "The air grows slightly warmer".
After the first crystal you will gain a buff, 麦迪文的回响, with a 6min duration. This is now your timer. As you click crystals, it will add a stacking buff and 5 minutes to the time you had left on your buff.
The Soul Fragments are located: 1 in the audience from Opera, 1 before Maiden (you don’t need to kill her), 1 after you kill Moroes, 1 in the Spider Room (then you click the portal to the stairway), 1 after you kill Curator.
If you click all the 灵魂残片 within the allotted time, after Curator, you run back to Nightbane's room and Medivh is there and he summons 夜之魇.
When you speak to Medivh you get the 卡拉赞之夜.
Once all crystals are clicked in the allotted time, your timer buff will change to 卡拉赞之夜 and you will have 5 minutes to go speak with Medivh and summon Nightbane. The original Roleplay upon summoning Nightbane will play.
Once you speak to Medivh and Nightbane is summoned, you are able to wipe without worry. He will still be there and shout at you as he continuously slays you.

As of November 8th, you can no longer reset the instance for another try if you fail the timer. Just tested in a guild run.

Easy Solo for Battle for Azeroth Level 120, and beyond...

1. Mythic Difficulty. Go as fast as you can, and you should have plenty of time.

2. Go to Opera, kill encounter, crystal is in the audience. Loot crystal. (1/5)

3. Go to towards Maiden, crystal is in the room just before Maiden. Loot crystal. (2/5)

4. Go to Moroes, kill encounter, crystal is behind the table. Loot crystal. (3/5)

5. Pick up the key that is on the ground that appears after Moroes dies.

6. Go to Spider Room, loot crystal. (4/5)

7. Before Curator, make sure you kill the Inhibitor mob carefully, this thing really sucks if it hits you, as you can't use any abilities.

8. Go to Curator, kill encounter, loot crystal. (5/5)

9. Run down to where Nightbane was spawned back in the Burning Crusade Days. Medivh will be there.

10. Talk to Medivh.

11. Achievement Completed.

The following bug seems to have been fixed! We start at the beginning of the instance again.

As of 8.3, I have had the issue of starting at the upper part of Return to Karazhan (after Curator).

Warning: Do not do the Soul Fragments out of order! I tested this (i.e. Curator > Opera > Maiden > Moroes > Spiders) and it did NOT work. The timer activation text never showed up in chat. No buffs, no Medivh, no Nightbane.

On another character, I stealthed past Curator and all the mobs back to the original start with Khadgar. It is then that the timer activated with the text: "The strange chill of a dark presence winds through the air..." I proceeded to activate the Soul Fragments in the usual order (Opera > Maiden > Moroes > Spiders > Curator). I got the buff 麦迪文的回响 after each one and was able to see Medivh to summon Nightbane. I got 卡拉赞之夜 and 燃烬巨龙.

Make sure you see: "The strange chill of a dark presence winds through the air..." before you start activating Soul Fragments!

Edit: I tried killing Curator and leaving the Soul Fragment up. This also did not work. When I made it to the usual start by Khadgar, the timer text never showed in chat. Thus, the Soul Fragment at Opera didn't give me 麦迪文的回响.

If you're like me and you didn't actually know where nightbane used to spawn and you frantically ran around looking for medivh and just barely got to him in time with 3s left on the buff...

The Image of Medivh spawns in the southernmost part of Master's Terrace, on the map its a green 3/4 circle.

Also make sure to hang out after the achievement pops until Nightbane spawns so you can get a mount from him.

Ran over a spider web, trapped me in combat.

Can't click the crystals in combat.

Achievement failed.

What an amazing thing.

I believe this is bugged - I did the usual route, getting the crystals at the Opera crowd, the Maiden, Moroes, the spiders, and the Menagerie. Then I ran back down to the outside semi-circle Master's Terrace beyond the entrance. Here I can see a translucent Medivh, but there's no way to interact.

When I did a /tar Medivh it targets Medivh as a green, friendly target about 20 feet away and up in the air, but there's nothing there when I looked. Now that the timer is expired, the /tar Medivh no longer targets anything.

There's no way to interact that I can tell with the translucent Madivh. Frustrating as hell, especially since the Westside Story fight is still bugged too.
