True, my hunter is geared and his multi shots do round 700 dmg give or take, and the improved serpent sting procs and then does around 900 dmg give or take. Not to mention that each target gets serpent sting on them, which with the talent noxious stings adds an additional 10% dmg that I deal to them, this includes the passive dot dmg from serpent sting and any other multi shot or improved serpent sting dmg I do, so that after the first multi shot, the next multi shot will do 10% more dmg. One thing I would like to know however is whether the mastery from the survival spec increases elemental dmg after dmg calculation or before dmg calculation.

will this actualy be usefull later on when cata comes hunters will have cobra shot witch extends duration so no reaply is needed.

I would like to note one use, especially for crowded servers. The damage caused by this talent does NOT obey projectile travel time. It hits the instant you cast that. Great for tagging mobs if you open with it. Use it in dense questing zones, or even just if there's someone else being a pain.
That it doesn't proc on Chimera is a bit disheartening, but at least I got some use out of it.

To specific, this talent works only if u "apply" serpent sting on a target. Therefore, no matter you shot a mob with serpent sting or apply to aoe target with serpent spread talent, it will all work. However, it dose not work with "refresh" effect such as chimera shot or cobra shot. It is a useful skill to solo or for aoe puepose. But it is pretty much useless in long fight, such as heroic/raid boss fight unless you forget to refresh your serpent sting. It acturally happens when the fight have lots of adds encountered such as Admiral Ripsnarl in deadmine. As long as we need 2 more points to reach tier 2 talent and hunter vs wild has nothing to do with dps, its still a good talent.
