Improved Charge aswell as Improved Intercept are both in the Arms tree, so why the hell isn't intercept usable in Battle Stance? Noone knows, noone ever knew, yet still this idiotic fact seems to remain in WotLK.

The talent Improved Intercept (Rank 1/Rank 2) reduces the cooldown of this ability by 5/10 seconds.

You can use this while in the air on an NPC (critter or mob, doesn't matter) to avoid fall damage.
I.e., you jump off your flying mount in the air, and when you get in range of the mob, use Intercept; no fall damage. Same goes with Charge.

Can this crit? i've never seen it crit while leveling my warrior but the felguard version can crit. so it would suprise me if the felguard had a better intercept than the warriors oO

Edit: This spell can infact crit though since lvl 30 i've seen it crit once, and that was at 61 ><

As of 3.3.3 this can be used on friendly players.

EDIT: why the downrate? This, while likely a glitch, is true (I have personally experienced this)

Intercept is great for the warrior who relies on using charge. It's kind of like charge, but with less damage, a rage cost, and more stun. The big factor is that it can be used in combat, which means you can chase down fleeing enemies who haven't been hit with something like Hamstring, and lose enemies who're chasing you while you attack a more important enemy.
Twice the cooldown of Charge, though.

I'm not sure but I suppose this ability would be usefull to chase down mobs that break aggro and head straight for the healer. The three second stun might give you the opportunity to splash a few sunder armors and regain it's attention.

With at least two points in tactical mastery it might be a usefull alternative for taunt.

As a warrior I haven't really been in a position to use it yet. I haven't even seen any of the mid-range instances yet, but I figure that it would be nice to be able and swap to intercept besides taunt to save the priest! The swapping shouldn't pose any big troubles I'd figure.

Perhaps that any accomplished warrior could comment on this tactic and tell em whether it's actually used in end-game play. I've never seen a warrior use it before and I've seen my share of end game dungeons as a rogue.

I think this ability is best used in PvP. poor enemy tries to run away from you, and all s/he got is a stunning blow, followed by several damaging ones (you are in berserker stance :-). If s/he cant free him/herself from the stun, s/he will probably die fast...

Man, chasing down running enemies is just a bonus with intercept. A warrior with improved intercept will DESTROY a mage. The stun breaks the casting! In a duel you can stop every second or third spell cast with imp intercept.

Real pvp, well, at that point, the mage is dead in 1 or two hits anyways, so it doesn't matter all that much.

is the easiest way to get berserker stance for the warrior quest at 30, to go to booty bay, then take the boat to ratchet, then walk to the island from there? im 30 and i think it is cuase on my hunter, it seems to be the closest and best way possible, so can i have an opinion?

You get this quest at lvl 30, for horde talk to the warrior trainer in the room where the WSG battle master is. He'll have a "!" over his head, asks you to go to that little island off the coast of Ratchet.

Intercet is a MUST have talent for all warriors. You get the quest from a battlemaster if I remember correctly @ level 30 and go to "Fray Island" to do combat. After vanquishing 5 level 27 warriors in a row, you kill "Big Bill" and can get your training. There is a 10 minute limit to fulfill this quest. Also - be careful how you swim to fray as fatigue sets in. Hearth home.

I just did the quest at fray island to get beserker stance (start near Wsg guy Orgrimmar, horde)and once u have done that u get the stance AND intercept at the same time ( at least thats what happened to me)... the trainer wont have it. so do the quest and check ur fury part in ur spellbook.

I don't think that's true. I never used my trinket before to just remove slowing effects, and the only classes that ever kept me out of melee range were mages and the occasional good lock, and it was never because of slowing effects. Just keep them hamstrung and it should be alright. I think this change to intercept with the additional change to pvp trinkets will really improve our group pvp game.

wen im pvping. i often lay a frost trap(aoe slowing ability) then i send my pet in and run in circles with the melee class in the middle of the trap, shooting instant shots at them. but that all changes wen im fighting a good warrior. thanks to this damn skill, so (i dont know y im telling u this) alwaysuse intercept on hunter or u will die.

This move is perfect for a gnome warrior when they get rooted to the ground. Gnomes could just use escape arist then intercept...Thats y i chose a 49 twink warior thats a gnome and he really pwns.

a few times a mage win against me without using iceblock is the only... else i have hp to last em out and they have to less hp to last my crits

The Intercept ability is an Anti-Kiting ability.

Essential in PVP, not great in PVE.

The only problem is that to really make it effective you have to be a Fury Spec warrior due to the abilities incredibly long 30 sec cooldown.

How many PVP fights actually last over 30 secs?

You can't really charge a Mage/Warlock at range since their spells have a longer range than your Charge ability.

Start the fight in Berserk:
Bloodlust - (for the rage)
Bloodfury - (for the rage and to prevent fear)
Intercept - (closing in, breaking their spell, and stunning)
Rend - for the cheap instant DOT
Pummel - Get it ready for when they start to cast

Wait for them to use a heal potion and heal all the damage you just did (or even worse use drain life)

Then just stand their so it is less painfull when they somehow kill you instantly since it is practically impossible to win in a PVP with these bastards.

Then wait for them to giggle at your corpse while they feel so special even though they whine constantly in dungeons because they just go whooped by an elite 2 lvls lower than them because they over aggro'ed it with their spells and you didn't run over fast enough to save their wimpy butt.

...no I'm not ticked I lost to a stupid Warlock ~8 times today...

Intercept allows you to catch those annoying classes that kite you to death.

Start the battle with charge, hamstring, if they blink, pop intercept. Now their blink is on cooldown, so they cant blink right out, only chance is to frost nova you. you can easily use your PVP trinket to get out of frost nova. Then just let the mage feel your wrath.

same thing works with hunters, their abilities are limited when your in melee range, and intercept helps keep that range.

That, with all due respect, is sophistry.

It's ridiculous to have the Improved version of a Berserker-only ability in the Arms tree (and this goes for all classes/abilities). Period.

It is also incorrect, in my view, to say that Arms is a pvp build (it's actually the best warrior all-around build). If anything, Berserker is the pvp build, with anti-fear/incapacitate abilities and quick-kill abilities.

But you certainly have the right to your opinion.
