As of patch 4.1.0 this item (i.e. the uncut gem Zephyrite) is now pretty much vendor trash. Sure, save a few for the daily quest, otherwise vendoring them is now really the only good use for them.

There is no jewelry (other than the green cuts, which no sane person buys) using these gems, and the cut gems got their vendor sell value literally decimated. They were 9g before the patch, now they sell for 90s per piece.

Really wish Blizzard would come up with some kind of use for these.

You see once we all cut and then vendor-trash MOUNTAINS of these gems... Bliz will announce that epic gems come from prospecting ONLY these uncut gems...

Also known as Vendorite.

Rather than selling these straight away, its best to first cut the gems. A stack of Zephyrite sells for 10g, while a stack of Rigid Zephyrite sells for 15g. This is a gain of 50% and will turn into a lot of gold when cutting many stacks of Zephyrite. The gain will be even high when perfect cuts occur (a stack of Perfect Rigid Zephyrite sells for 18).

Mass cutting for also introduce a new game called Stack The Gems. Since cut gems don't automatically stack, the player has to manually stack them to prevent his bags from filling up. It is a bit of a hassle (and a bit funny :p), but definitely beats selling which interrupts crafting.

Edit: the fact that the gems do not automatically stack, is a bug. Until it is fixed, you can do the above or get the addon called GemStacker (link to Curse).

a note to anyone looking for these- they are not drops from any mobs. it says zephyrite can be looted from dragonmaw skirmishers and dung beetles- don't waste your time. neither of these mobs are lootable.

Drop rate of these from elementium has definately been nerfed. I used to do all the jewelcrafting quests by prospecting elementium in the Twilight Highlands, but now I have to go to Hyjal to mine obsidium to get zephyrite. Drop rate from 100 obsidium ore = 4, so about the 24% rate listed.

on my server the price of these dropped to 80 silver each to a max of 1.5g(very short time) on daily solid zeph day so im going to vendor trash these not worth the trouble but if u do makesure to cut sell 75s uncut vendors 50s

Make sure to check your auction house before vendoring them. On my server, they sell for about 7 gold each.

So.. I guess I am not the only one thinking what to do with this little sucker?

I don't know if I should use it for transmuting 3x of each green gem for 2x shadowspirit diamonds or just vendor the zeph and use the others for crafting greens?

What would YOU suggest? The carnelian goes for about 50g each, where 1x shadowspirit goes for about 150-180g (cut in some version ofc)

Just after cut some numbers, all kind of 泽菲蓝晶石, and nearly 90x 致密泽菲蓝晶石, still 完美致密泽菲蓝晶石 is removed from the "Perfect" series and don't proc. So, if want to try AH with some perfect gems avoid to make 致密泽菲蓝晶石 / and other JC daily quest gems 永恒夜之石, 裂纹碧玉 /
