It's a poison, but cloak of shadows does not remove it. :(

However, if you want to avoid getting the debuff at all, before eating another piece, remove the 4% speed buff. If you eat another piece of candy while that buff is active, you won't be able to eat another for 15 minutes. This could be easily abused in battlegrounds :)

Every time you eat one you add 30 seconds to the buff. The more time left on the buff, the more stacks you get. For every 30 seconds you get 1 stack, so if it has 3 minutes left, you get 6 stacks (which is +24% run speed.) There is also a random chance to get an upset tummy when you eat one when you already have the buff causing you to stop moving and giving you a 15 minute cleansible poison debuff preventing you from gaining any benefit from eating any more. It also makes you puke.

If youre a dwarf, you can remove your upset tummy by using Stoneform. Just tested it out.

These currently count down only when logged into the game. With the upcoming patch (2.3.2), these will begin counting down in *real* time.

This weekend, (Dec 28-31, 2007) will be a WSG weekend.

If you have any of these left over, I suggest that you either use them for flag running in WSG, or try selling them in trade (non BOP items!).

I plan on selling all mine before they dissappear. :)

These can be 'prolonged' by mailing them to an alt and just leaving them in the mail.
I have about 50, and its currently 2nd of August 2008, got them at halloween 2007.

Its a shame they're not more useful or I could sell them for heaps :D

I sent these to an alt when my bag space was filling up - only to discover that the time they spend in the mail doesn't count towards their expiry time. So presumably if you leave them in the mail, you can still have a snack on one in a few weeks time...

I sent these to my bank alt, and now when I try to get them from the mail, I get disconnected and I also get some kind of rollback (getting DC'd right before mailbox, and when I log back in, im at AH bridge in ironforge)

Just a warning, these things are likely to scar your stat page forever as 'Most food type consumed'. If you were like myself and ate a ton of these to throw up in disgust that the horseman didn't drop your mount.

There doesn't seem to be any limit of how many of the stacks of "Sugar Rush" you can have on you at once.

Tested by a paladin that used divine shield, thus making him immune to the effect but able to keep stacking, he got it up to 12 (48% speed).

Best way to get these is by visiting all the candy buckets. But there are more candy buckets then those listed for the achievements. So far I've found one at every innkeeper friendly to my faction.

If you have collected all the Candy Buckets before and got achievements for it(from last year or before that), you can still do them this time to get more Tricky Treats. I was a bit worried since I was stuck on 130 after doing Northrend and Cataclysm, but I visited the In in Sentinel Hill and there was a bucket I could take.

Surely I'm not the only person who finds it annoying when getting transformed while farming those buckets ... especially when the transformation prevents one from mounting up. Anyway, here's a simple Macro to cancel any of the possible enchants:

You can get the max Speed buff as a Death Knight with ease.

Eat 1 Treat

Cast Antimagic Shell "It Prevents the Upset stomach Debuff from going on you so you dont Lose your stacks of speed"

Eat 2-3 more treats before AMS wears off and you have the max speed

These stack up to a maximum of 5 times. When you initially eat one you get a second buff that actually increases speed automatically by 20%. If you eat another one while this second buff is applied you will get the "Upset Tummy" poison. Also eating one while you have the x5 speed buff will cause it. And yes you get 30 of the item every time you down the horseman.

I had 30 of these in my bag just after killing the Headless Horseman. They seem to rain down on you and go into your bags after he's dead.

When I ate one, my speed increased by 4% for 30 seconds, the second one boosted that to +8% and extended the time by 30 seconds, and the third one boosted it to +12%, but did not extend the time further.
The fourth one gave me an "upset tummy" and said, "The mere thought of eating any more tricky treats makes you ill."

The 15-minute debuff said it was poison, so I got a druid to cast cure poison on me, which worked perfectly so I could eat more immediately. lol

Update:
I tried again and got a 4th one to take me to +16% speed, so it's probably safe to assume that if you can get down five of them you'll go +20%.
Also, the speed buff stacks with minor speed on boots, so it might also stack with the +24% from the Blade's Edge daily.

Update:
These have a duration of 24 hours, so Blizz wants us to use them fast. However, mailing to an alt appears to pause the duration as long as you leave them in the mailbox (not 100% sure on this yet). The mailbox will also negate the "Unique (100)" attribute, as that only applies to how many you can possess outside the mailbox. If one can actually pause the duration cooldown, these might be great to save in the mailbox for battlegrounds! :-D

Not sure what's going on, but after eating over 360 of these in a single day, I STILL haven't gotten ill a single time, even while everyone around me was barfing their brains all over the cobblestones. I even hotkeyed 'em and spam-munched a full 100 in a matter of a couple minutes, didn't do a damn thing. Guess I'm going to ticket.

You get about 30 of these from killing the Headless Horseman in Scarlet Monestary Graveyard. You can use many of these, and has no real cooldown. It gives you a "sugar rush" that increases your speed the more it stacks. The speed boost lasts for 20 seconds or so. If you eat too many of these, you get sick, throw up, and can't use them for a few minutes. I think you can debuff it, but they will probably fix that.

Its clearly marked as poison, why would it be removed if this was so obviously intended (although blizzard do make crazy decisions). its not like any balance is affected by removing it, its only 8% increase until you get sick

to get stack it 5 times i ate 2 then waited around 50 seconds, then was able to eat 3 more without being sick, if u time it well u could keep the buff on for a a few hours straight if u had 100 in your inventory

im da champ. i got 12 in a stack. my trick is(pally only) to get up to 5 stacks(use purify to remove upset tummy if u cant get 2 it first try) then divine shield and keep eating them as fast as u can. you CAN NOT throw up with divine shield or divine protection(BoP dosnt count) up =D so it keeps stacking
i got 48% faster =D thats almost as fast as a rank 1 sprint, 2% away

These drop from The headless horseman himself. You have to be close to his body, when he dies to get these. They do not drop from the inkeeper or anywhere else.
This is for WOTLK classic.

Still comes from Headless Horseman, but they are much rarer this year.

You need to stick around for about 20 secs after killing the boss, nearby him, and they might appear in your bags.

Took me 9 runs before I got any. You can keep requeuing until you get them (5x per hour).

Also tradeable but can't be put on the AH.
