This herb can be found mostly around houses, there are some spawning points in Alterac Mountains near the Syndicate spies in Strahnbrad.

Good idea to mill these if your looking for Verdant Pigment, a 1 out of 2 chance you'll get 1 to 3 of 'em as you can see in the milling tab.

A great spot for these I've found while leveling is the Ruins of Zul'Kunda west of Nesingwary's expedition in Northern Stranglethorn Vale. Each trip over I find 2-5 nodes, and by the time my instance is over (queing as a healer, for reference) the nodes are respawned.

Edit: 2 nodes respawned while I was typing this, might be even better than I thought.

Wetlands is 'the' best place to farm. Found 20 in less than 30 mins.

Wetlands? Not on the Aerie Peak realm. I just checked and there isn't a single bruiseweed in the entire zone....and I saw nobody who might be farming it. Not one single soul.

I was fast lvling alc, I went to hillsbrad and the frozen herbs just dropped so many bruiseweed, i must of got about 30 in less than 5 minutes, its up in the mountains where the ogres are, in the built up area and around it.

edit: I carried on from there to the old dalaran site, and there was loads there too. While your there do your self a favour and kill all the dalaran summoners, they can drop a rare pet.

Ruins of Alterac in Hillsbrad Foothills is a great place. With the Frozen herbs, I also got some Mageroyal and Briarthorn. Also, assuming most herb farmers are alchs as well, there is an Alch vendor on one of the ruin walls (on the map, hes on the wall by the Tower and house icon towards the NE). Bro'kin, little goblin guy. Booty Bay affiliated. He sells Vials, and sometimes the Recipe: Frost Oil. Requires Alch 200. (it's uncommon, might have to check back a few times to see if there is (1).)

Found a lot of them here. At least 10 of them. Stealth and sapped my way through. Couldn't tell you how happy I was to have moved on to kingsblood.

On Eldre'Thalas. Thanks for mentioning that they were there. Guess the information was still current for my realm.

I did a complete circumnavigation of Ashenvale before entering Stonetalon. I got 14 bruiseweed in Ashenvale. I haven't left Windshear Crag in Stonetalon yet and have already doubled my yield. This is the best zone I've found so far. Give Stonetalon a try.

edit: THIS IS PRE CATACLYSM - One entire loop of the zone netted: 35 bruiseweed, 30 kingsblood, 32 wild steelbloom and several mageroyal and briarthorn. More bruiseweed in the south end of the zone and more wild steelbloom in the north. I started from the Talondeep Path, Did Windshear Crag and all the other off loops like Greatwood Vale, Charred Vale, etc... It took me 1 hr, 10 min on a level 40 druid in travel form. Good luck.

CATA UPDATE: No longer is Stonetalon the go to for Bruiseweed, now you need to go to a zone one level lower. I'm having good luck in Ashenvale.
