This boots is the best you can get for a level 19 twink. The item level of this boots is 40. That means that you can put enchants that require level 35 item on it.

Feet of the Lynx + the maximum of 7 Stamina = 8 Agility and 7 Stamina.

Nat Pagle's Extreme Anglin' Boots + the new maximum of 12 Agility (Or Stamina?) = 24 Stamina / 12 Stamina and 12 Agility.

I recommend that you use these ;P

these are awesome put these on my 19 rogue with +12 agility, had to have a 70 pally and lock help me while i fished ( and costed me 15g) but it was worth it

there is a bug with the fish loot when the "looting this item will bind it to you" comes up dont shift click the bobber or it will cancel the looting box. in meaning you cant catch any of the 3 rare fish because of it or it cancels and will go away make sure you dont hold shift for the quick loot system!

Got these boots on my twinks, got them on my third run, guild run fishing in STV

Watch out for the mobs since you agro verry easily in Stranglethorn, Been fishing since then (7 months ago) and still no sign for that hat (Which i wanted all along :O...And the Naga seem to hate me since i get chased by them anytime i fish *cry*)

Its just luck really, friend got 6 hats and 4 sets of boots within 2 months..

As a few other people have said... You can get Burning Crusade enchants (12 agility, 12 stamina, Boar's Speed, Cat's Swiftness etc)

The trick is with twinks fishing in Stranglethorn..If you go down the coast to near the Cold Eye Basilisks...There is an island that has 2 spots on it and there are no mobs (Whoever can give me the co-ords for that island that has no mobs on it thats near Grom'Gol deserves a cookie :P)

This item is part of the Stranglethorn Vale Fishing Competition. Which takes place every Sunday between 14:00 and 16:00 Server time.

These are the items that can be won if you are the first person to hand in 40 Speckled Tastyfish to Riggle Bassbait in Bootybay.
Arcanite Fishing Pole and Hook of the Master Angler.

Once someone has won the fishing competition, you can still hand in your remaining Speckled Tastyfish to Jang in Bootybay. (repeatable quest)

This is an excellent twink item. Although it is a quest item and BOP. Note: to complete the quest, you have to be able to travel to Stranglethorn Vale, and you have to have AT LEAST, 130 fishing to cast your fishing pole in Stranglethorn Vale.You also have to participate in some contest in STV on every sunday. In the contest, the winner is the one that catches 40 fish first. YOU DO NOT have to win the contest to complete the quest, you just have to get the rare fish you need for completion of the quest. And, to twinks beware of getting attacked by the giant beasts in STV. IF you get attacked by one and you attack it back (tagging it), and then another player kills it for you, you get EXPERIENCE, i found that out the hard way :(. Let's just say, I am level twenty now. Anyway, GOOD LUCK! See you in Warsong! ^ ^

If you are making a rogue twink i suggest you should try gettin' these ones.
They can get TBC enchants and are a 100 g cheaper than Feet of the Lynx. (8 Agility 3 Strength)
Alot of twinks still chooses Feet of the Lynx unfortunately.

i came to stv looking for the leet headpiece and got both the feet item and the fishing item. i threw cats swiftness on the feet and have been trying for the head for a very long time. i guess its just bad luck i got the other 2 first but the feet with cats swiftness on them is amazing. 6 agil 12 stam and minor speed :P

I've got the fishing hat and the fishing line as "secondary price" and for me it seems like you get this rewards if you turn your fish in within 2 hour (I think you have a little more time than that, but I'm not completly sure.). You don't seem to be first to get this "secondary rewards. I wasn't, that's for sure.

And about Ashbringer (88 DPS), if it exists. I've have following threads about it. And at least two sources say you have to have a minimun of 427 fishing skill to fish it (preferably +435).

Yes, I'm a warrior.

I love to fish. I've got the Arcanite Rod, The lucky Fishing Hat, Nat Pagle's Shoes, the +2 Fishing Enchant, I even have an alt whose sole purpose is to make me Aquadynamic Fishing Lures. The only thing I lack is the High Test Eternium Fishing Line for my Arcanite Rod.

Ever since I got into fishing I've wanted to collect every little bit of gear that has anything to do with Fishing. The Terminator is on the list. I got Nat Pagle's Broken Reel last week with my guild as no casters wanted it! So really all I have left to collect is the fishing line and the Fish Terminator. I cannot wait until my collection is complete!

Ok, I did these stats AGAIN, please upvote this post so it doesn't get deleted another time. Since people didn't seem to understand how I got these numbers before, I will explain them.

When thottbot tracks data, it does not (and probably cannot) record conditions such as if a fishing bobber was inside a tastyfish spawn. Therefore, it isn't possible to get a "droprate" for the fish. So, the only way to get a feel for how often the rare fish drop is to compare its data to that of tastyfish, since tastyfish are the only other item caught exclusively under the exact same conditions as the rare fish. Fortunately, we know the number of tastyfish that have been caught, as well as how many rare fish.

This logic would be flawed if, for example, tastyfish could be caught in the competition long before rare fish were added, therefore making the tastyfish seem more common. Since, to my knowledge, the rare fish always have been there since the competition started, we can simply divide the number of rare fish caught by the number of tastyfish. Note that this does not take into account the other items that can be fished from tastyfish spawns (stranglekelp, oily blackmouths, ect), so a more accurate description would be for any number of tastyfish caught, an average of x% will be rare, where x is the following:

Keefer's Angelfish: 0.25% (1 in every 400 tastyfish)

Dezien Queenfish: 0.22% (1 in every 450 tastyfish)

Brownell's Blue Striped Racer : 0.18% (1 in every 550 tastyfish)

ANY rare fish: 0.65% (1 in every 150 tastyfish)

So if you were to catch 100 tastyfish every Sunday (which is about how many I usually get), you would have a 16.5% chance to get the Brownell's Blue Striped Racer, or a 48% chance to get any rare fish. Personally, I've probably caught around 750-1000 tastyfish, and have found 3 x Dezien Queenfish. My chance of finding an angelfish with that many caught is somewhere around 90%. I shall keep on trying...

I don't see why Blizzard would make the droprates different for each individual fish, so we can probably assume that they share the same rate (The average is 0.22%). With this in mind, there is obviously a rather large margain of error for these rates. This is because there is very little data on thottbot for the fishing competition (only a total of 233 rare fish are recorded at this time). If you wish to help, run thottbot while you farm and upload your data.

You can only catch these fish in the schools of Tasty Fish that appear all along the cost of STV between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on sundays.

I got these together with Lucky Fishing Hat on my lv 19 rogue twink. pure pwnage!

The nerf never took place. You can still get the rare fish at lvl 19, and you can still turn them in. So take it easy.

And while you prepare for fishing this sunday, here is a tip.

TIP: Have a sammy friend run around STV with you. He can buff water walking each 10 min which will help you ALOT. And remember to make loads of Aquadynamic Fish Attractor's. The duration of these are now 10 minutes instead of 5 minutes (even though blizz havn't changed it in the item text yet).

To fish at this tourny u must have at least 150 fishing skill and some kind of bobber thing...all u have to do is fish in the pools of tasty fish and hope u get 1 of the fish that little robot thing list in booty bay. If anything keep all the tasy fish u find even if u dont get a rare fish becuase u can turn them in for 23 silver for every 5 tasty fish.

If you read above, it says that you DO NOT get xp for doing these quests but you do have to take into account the running around a new area so if you are close to 20, you better sit it out.

there is a difference between 5% stam and 5% HP you cant get 5% of 100 HP which would be 105 HP but 5% 10 stam doesnt = 10.5 stam blizzard doesnt give any decimal amount of stats.

I have 1 question to all of u.
Lets say u find a pond and u start fishing, if u find no rare drop, can u cancel the loot and start again?
Or the pond will go away (after a few throws) even if u dont take the tasty fish?
Else it would be nice if u can cancel the tasty fish loot and keep on trying on the same pond, so to avoid searching time for new ponds.
