Got my robe with relative ease... Think 3 or 4 runs. But the mantle seems impossible... :( 12 runs wasn't enough so far. :)

cmon, every priest knows that devout never seems to drop, and what priest doesnt want the set? so just because this may be someones first peice of devout, or 2nd or something, doesnt mean that just cuz u have more peices and some other priest outrolled you on it doesnt mean that priest is a noob. preists want devout, devout drops, ALL priests have equal right to roll on it, u lost, get over it and stop whining

So many priests go for devout. I personally enojoy this fact since ive gone for mana regen and healing equipment ever since i hit 60. Most devout priests always pass on items such as Shadowy Laced Handwraps in Strat and Padre Trousers in Dire Maul. So to all you Devout Priests out there...i thank you...=D

Alright I am a level 60 Night Elf Priest. I have been holy since the very beginning and this is my first character ever. I have read up on thottbot and see that while devout isn't the best tier one stuff in the game it is pretty damn good and those raids are easy to get pugs for. So after about 2-3 weeks of being sixty I have managed to acquire 5 devout peices, robes, sandals, crown, belt, skirt. All that stands in the way of my full devout is an ubrs run and then farming living strath. SO im an ubrs pug that i put together (i also payed the keyholder to open door) and we go over loot rules, 1blue 1set ya ya. But the group objects to ml, and in a democratic fashion i say thats fine, afterall im the only priest that needs the devout shoulders and neither of the mage nor the lock could be stupid enough to roll right? they know how to play their classes right? RIGHT? Solakars drops is..... DEVOUT MANTLE! BABY! SCORE! .... and the mage is like WOW I NEED THIS! ... ... I roll a three... I know many of you will find this to be pointless, we've all been ninjaed, i just need a place to @#$%^.

This is a gernal post to the person who posted two above me johnny dude never in your life allow any class roll need on a set peice that you are entitled to. it just makes no sense ask them if they need the + shadow dmg on there mage. or better yet just let them know that if it were a mage set item how would they feel if rolled need on it .. it makes no sense for a person to even allow a mage to roll on devout.. if there is no priest sure. well i guess i gotta thank my lucky stars that all my runs are guild runs and i dont have to deal with the bull&*!@ from pugs. thank god for WAndering alliance on Etrig.

What are peoples opinion of Devout Mantle vs Burial Shaw (for healing priest).

I wear the Burial Shaw when fighting trash mobs then put devout on when fighting a boss, but I think it may be better to wear the Shaw all the itme.

Now killed this beastie a total of 38 times on Arathor & has yet to give up the prized mantle :(
80% of the time drops crystalised girdle.
Other set pieces all dropped within about a dozen kills of their respective boss.

I'd also like to say that the devout mantle has been tough for me to get. I was lucky enough to get most of my devout peices in less than 2 or 3 tries, and I have 7 of the 8. This is just my luck catching up to me i guess. I've also gotten through the upgrade quests to the point where i need the mantle to turn in so i can get three vitrious peices. Ive run father flame at least 15 times and ive seen it once, but there were 3 priests and another one won it... go figure. So thats my sob story.

On the plus side, I like to think I have almost singlehandely convinced the ubrs running community to do FF on my server. Its a pretty new server and when i started no one wanted to do this event in a pick up group. But now I make sure we do it every time I go. For anyone who wants to do FF but isnt sure about it and is worried about convincing 9 other people to go along on what could potentially become a wipe here is some advice:

Clear out the mobs in the room first, dont touch the eggs. Have a hunter or other long range shooter grab the furthest mob. Have a rouge stealth down to start the event by touching the red crystal. If eggs do pop but don't aggro they will despawn in about 3 min. Fight just inside the doorway to the egg room. dont go upstairs or back out into that boss room, the hatchers will get away and you will die. Hatchers hatch the eggs, which release dragons and cause problems, so kill them first. Two aoe'ers can handle the dragons no problem, but its better to avoid that if you can. Freeze the hatchers in place or use slowing effects if you are having trouble. After about 5 pairs of mobs come out you will get the boss. He is easy, just make sure you deal with any lingering monsters before you focus on him.

The biggest problem groups have with this event is the first part. If a bunch of dragons get lose people freak out and it can go bad fast. As the priest going for the drop it is your job here to make sure people know what they are doing and to keep everyone up, particularly your aoe. If you cant keep them up you are not going to convice them to do the event in the future.

im going slowly crazy trying to get this item! aftre around 50 runs which have taken me from lvl 58 to 60 it stil hasnt dropped once. i know there are better heal shoulders out there but its not about that anymore. this shouldnt be so impossible to get.

Ok everyone, if u are having trouble getting ur group to do father flame, force em into it. If its a pug when u message the leader just tell him u have to do Father Flame or u are not healing for them. And he will say sure we will do it. If its a guild run u most likely have good guild members so ask em if u can do Father Flame and they will say sure. Its as easy as that.

I have tried for ever to get the devout mantle it has never dropped for me (60 Dwarf priest) idk but its starting to make me mad

I must be really lucky...I've run UBRS 4 times as a level 58 priest. The first time after we killed Drak, the robe dropped. Three times later I asked if we could kill FF for the mantle...it drops.

I only had to kill each boss once for these to drop...I'm just hoping I'll have the same luck from now on hehehe

Still trying to get the devout mantle after what seems like eternity.

Make sure you insist on your group doing this event. I would suggest that you do not attempt UBRS without a mage.

Personally I find UBRS up till the beast goes smoothest with at least:
2 Mages
2 Tanks (Druids or Warriors)
1 Priest

If you want to do Drakk bring:
Hunter (Kiting Drakk)
Warlock (Chain Fear an add)

I have attempted Father Flame 7 times now and failed 4 times. 3 of those times, we were faced with resetting the dungeon so of course everyone quits. 3 times Solakkar has gone down 2 times some dumb belt and 1 time a leather chest-piece.

FF is not that hard people... kill the hatchers first. Stun them whenever you get the chance and AoE when the whelps do come out, but if your good enough this won't happen. LEARN TO PlAY! LEARN TO FOLLOW DIRECTIONS! UGH! Why, oh why does Blizzard force us Priests to go through this agony every UBRS run until we finally see a Devout Mantle FINALLY drop? Oh and don't get me started on the boots...

Well after 20 runs and 20 kills of Mr Flamewreath I have yet to see the mantle drop. Something needs to be done. Hell I'll be in MC fore too long and won't need em anymore. At this point Id be happy to see it drop nevermind winning them

Just been on the wow web just to compare the Magisters armor to Devout. They are basically the same. Can someone please tell me why people keep saying Devout's are not meant for Mages? Purely because I got 2 before anyone even told me they were for a priest. wtf? why?

Dreadmist is a dungeon set, not a tier set(you warlocks are posting in the tier one armor set forums). DEVOUT is the priest dungeon set. Get your facts straight instead of sitting on your lazy bums and complaining.

ALL TIER ONE/TWO/THREE ARMOR SETS are indeed CLASS SPECIFIC.
Any guild will screw you up for that. DONT ROLL ON TIER ARMOR SETS.
Allakhazam may be a nice site, but not everything is correct. This is why they update every couple days. Thus the reason why some tier one/two/three sets do not show up in class specific.

DUNGEON SETS ARE NOT CLASS SPECIFIC!
dont be idiots and roll agaisnt a warlock=dreadmist who needs the set. SAME for mages=magister and priests=devout. You wont get the upgrade that the actual class would get (dungeon set two). And, you give THEM the right to roll agianst you, so dont complain about warlocks/mages/priests rolling against you for your own armor sets when you are doing the same thing to them.

I AM A PRIEST and HATE to hurt others by rolling agianst other classes, so dont attempt to twist this. Some of you are sitting on your lazy bums and believe every single thing that Allakhazam says. Not a good move.

Blizzard created those sets for those classes (SET BONUSES CONFIRM IT), they are intended for that class BUT they are not class specific. My point: Warlocks get the priority on Dreadmist, Mages get the priority on Magister, Priests get the priority on Devout. BUT if there is the rare case that no warlock/mage, warlock/priest, mage/priest are not in the group, then by all means roll. But you are idiots if you roll on something that gives set bonuses you dont need, especially if there IS a player that needs it. (does not apply to shadow priests but still warlock priority)

Camon are you kidding me? if I was a lock or a mage I'd had the entire set by now, but these shoulders are so damn hard to get, first because nobody wants to do this boss, second because it's almost impossible to get a group that doesn't screw up, 3rd its almost impossible to get a group to do it anyway, I mean I had every piece of magister, dreadmist, beaststalker even shadowcraft and they're also hard to get shoulders but no way I will ever get my hands on these devout shoulders, probably I'll get the army's armor first, not fair just not fair please blizzard put the shoulders with ras or jandice or something.

most annoying thing? after month of trying to get this boss killed you'll probably lose the roll to the other priest IF THEY DROP At ALL!

goddamn it I have 7/8 t0 for half a year now and those pesky magister shoulders wich aren't so bad but look terrible with the rest of the set, I might go for a priest full magister, it will be easier...

I agree with Realzarim; please change the mob or nerf FF.
Still, if you do a simple guildrun with people you know and who know you and the instance, it shouldn't be a problem. In a PuG you allways have one or two players who do UBRS for their first time and will screw up.

It's all a matter about knowing what to do and who to do it with.

My (usually) succesfull strategy is:

- Kill the big dragons
- All go back to the room where the last boss was, all ranged get on the tableau, the rest for the 'door'.
- one rogue stealthes in and loots FF
-First serie of mobs spawn, It's very important that you make sure the Hatchers are in the room where the raid group is, and that you kill them asap. don't forget to snare and root them to prevent them from running back and opening more eggs. This is where the key lays.
- AoE eventual whelps to death
-repeat this till flamewrath spawns. Let the tank get 2 or 3 sunders and kill it.

Now i've done quite a few runs, and i've seen everything drop in UBRS, from Blunt Mace to Felstriker, but still no Devout Mantle.

Btw, i saw a warlock with devout mantle recently, i thought i fainted >_<

It can be difficult for priests to get thier raid groups to do Father Flame. Usually you need to make sure they are going to run it before agreeing to go on an UBRS run.

we never menaged to stop them but you might as well try...
everybody but AoE-ers attack the Elite ones...
and STAY PUT... dont even breath toward other eggs, stay close to the door...
after, think 3-4 waves boss comes solo... easy to kill...

drops only one thing.... problem is that he drops 5 thigs and Devout shoulders are lowest drop rate :(

done it 6 time by now, and still no shoulders.... and yea groups dont like doing this, and yes people usally dont know how to do it so 2-3 wipes can happen :(

P.S. dont try to clear the room, couse eggs repond to fast...
