Great guide guys, keep up with the amazing work.
Did somebody say jet packs?
Ugh. Only 2 large plots? :/ I thought we had 3. v_v Now I have no idea what to choose. :/ I wanted Barracks, Mage Tower, and Stables. >_<
I've already got my Garrison planned out. All level 2 buildings, since level 3s have to be obtained through quests and what not. I'll have everything planned out, since I'm not going to be in the game until a while after launch. ;.; Bye bye Core Hound mount and Hogs. I wish they'd be scaled to 90 and not 100.
Very nice little guide! Obviously a work in progress since the game is still is beta but got a few questions:1. The Level 3 blueprints for Mage tower and the engineering works are listed. Do we know what achievements unlock the level 3 plans for the other buildings?2. the 8 'Trained' mounts, they're just regular mounts, right? Earn 'em and keep 'em forever? Or do we have to have the Stables to -use- them too?2a. You can complicate the training quests. Is there some kind of benefit to doing that?3. Mage tower - You can deactivate way points? Why? Is the number you can have active based on the level of your mage tower? Also it says the Mage tower portal is one way, can you not go back to the tower via the waygate?Think that's all :) Great info guys, thank you!
Achievements for Level 3 blueprints are still a work in progress, but http://wod.wowhead.com/achievements=1.15237.15238#0+5+2+3 is a link to all Garrison Building achievements, which get updated every beta build. It looks like an additional one is Master of Mounts. The 8 trained mounts are regular mounts, you can keep them forever. I think Cory Stockton tweeted confirmation on this recently as well. Currently the item IDs for these mounts aren't implemented, so I can't actually learn/use them and test for myself though. As for the Mage Tower, there are six waypoints but you can only have 1 at level 1, 2 at level 2, and 3 at level 3. When I tested them on the beta, I could not get back to my Garrison via the waygate. However, there is a special Garrison hearthstone which is separate from your regular Hearthstone.
Great guide :) however I'd like to make a slight correction:
Thanks--things are in so much flux, when I first did those zones it must have worked differently.
Why you hate da horde mon ! No seriously great article but you should put the horde names of those buildings too
Garrison data is constantly changing and closer to launch, we'll look into tweaking our tooltips further to display both names. Faction-specific building names were added a few months after we set our buildings section up.
You're welcome :)Also a suggestion is to include the perks for the outpost buildings like you did on the medium building guide. On Talador, building the Mage Tower on the outpost yields an arcane construct that will follow you for 30 seconds damaging enemies, and a one-way portal to the garrison, while the Armory lets you call in an artillery strike. On Nagrand, the workshop lets you summon a siege vehicle every 10 minutes that lets you kill mobs really fast, or summon a special mount that can be used in combat. As in, it can be summoned in combat, you can fight and loot mobs while riding it, and you don't get dismounted if dazed while riding it. It has no cooldown either.
That plate set is awesome, i hope they do some more belts like that. i like the cloth also.
If you click through to look at the actual building pages, they display both names exactly how Rankkor typed them. The Garrison Calculator was also updated recently to update faction names based on the map you have selected. Example: War Mill vs Dwarven Bunker.I'm going to devote a separate guide just for the outposts, I think the medium one was getting too lengthy and could overwhelm users who just want to learn more about their basic buildings.I could have sworn that "More Plots" specifically mentioned blueprints as a reward in a past build, but I can't find it anymore.
This I loveKinda one of the reasons why I still play this game after so many years!Always get intrigued with something new!
Good to know, thank you!
Hey Perculia one question, can you at some point get all the building on one character? like have the stable and dwarven bunker in your garrison, and then the mage tower and gnomish gearworks in two different outpost? if you can, can you then upgrade them and get the nice benefits?
You can collect all the vanity items associated with a building, and then tear it down and build something else--for example, you can collect all of the transmog gear, then rip it down, build the stables, learn 8 mounts, rip it down, and build the Mage Tower for good. The outposts do not let you learn more buildings (at this point in beta). They offer zone-specific perks which are themed after several Garrison buildings, but are not tied to them. For example, right now you can build a level 1 mage tower at 92, and then when you quest in Talador at 96, build an outpost that either resembles a mage tower with an arcane buff, or a building that resembles a weapons depot. The Talador outpost should still appear if you haven't built the Mage Tower as well. What outposts and their quest help you with is upgrading some buildings to level 2. There is a quest series for most zones that requires you to pick an outpost, complete 10 or so quests, and get a special Garrison manual which can be turned in at your Ashran faction hub for a blueprint.
