Wowhead's Guide to Patch 5.4.8

live on TuesdayThe patch is now live, and we have discovered a couple of issues:

Bigger Bag becoming account-wide is causing progress to be reset. Reward Systems Designer Russ Petersen tweeted that it's being looked into.
The two achievements for the Dread Raven and Dread Hatchling are not appearing for some players, but are for others.

Wowhead's database is updated to reflect these additional item upgrades.

Simply visit an item's page and click on the additional upgrade options, or look at the "Upgrades" column in search results and mouseover the icons to see stat gains.

You can also show Upgrade level 3 and 4 in external tooltips.

The Item Comparison Tool and Profiler have been updated for item upgrades as well.

Not all Mists of Pandaria items are affected by these Valor upgrades. Only 5.4 items (Timeless Isle, Siege of Orgrimmar) can be upgraded four times--gear from Throne of Thunder and other MoP raids can only be upgraded twice.

Garrosh HeirloomsValor PointsDeeds of Valor

Players can turn their excess Timeless Coin into Valor Points with Deeds of Valor.

Deeds of Valor is sold for 0 Timeless Coin by Mistweaver Ai at the Celestial Court on the Timeless Isle.

Deeds of Valor only last for a day, so they can't be stockpiled for later use.

You cannot go over the weekly cap of 1000 Valor Points. In addition, if using Deeds of Valor would put you over the cap, you can't use it. For example, if you are at 920 VP, you can't use Deeds of Valor for the remaining 80 VP.

This requires no Shaohao reputation to purchase.

Item Upgrades

As stated above, additional item upgrades are being added to some gear in 5.4.8. Upgrades will still cost Valor Points.

Upgrading an item fully now from 0/4 to 4/4 will cost 0 Valor Points, with 0 Valor Points for each boost.

Timeless Isle

Going To Need A Bigger Bag is now account-wide, so your alts can loot vanity items on the Timeless Isle without feeling guilty now. If you're new to the Timeless Isle, check out our guide!

Resolved an issue where Cat Form's movement speed bonus was stacking incorrectly with Warrior's Stampeding Shout.

Rogue

Burst of Speed can now be activated to remove movement-slowing effects even if another movement speed bonus such as Sprint is already present (the speed bonuses will still not stack).

Siege of Orgrimmar

General Nazgrim

General Nazgrim no longer calls in an additional wave of forces at 10% health on Raid Finder difficulty.

Garrosh Hellscream

Increased berserk timer for Garrosh Hellscream to 25 minutes (up from 18 minutes) on Raid Finder difficulty.

Items

All upgradable epic quality items introduced in Patch 5.4 (items found in Siege of Orgrimmar and Timeless Isle) are now eligible to be upgraded an additional 2 times for a total increase of 16 item levels.
Heirloom weapons awarded by Garrosh Hellscream have been increased by 8 item levels to keep them competitive with the additional 2 upgrade levels given to other items.
Mistweaver Ai on the Timeless Isle next to the Celestial Court now sells a token called Deeds of Valor for 3000 Timeless Coins. When used, Deeds of Valor grants 100 Valor Points to the character, up to the 1000 Valor Point maximum per week.

UI Add-Ons are no longer able to update a number of CVars while the player is in combat. A complete listing of CVars affected by this change can be found in the forum thread titled: 5.4.8 Changes to CVars While In-Combat.

Achievements

Going To Need A Bigger Bag is now an account-wide achievement and items obtained by all characters on the account now contribute credit towards completion. This means the achievement can be completed by obtaining all the required items across multiple characters instead of having a single character obtain all the items needed.

Additional Datamined ContentRygarius stated

Heart of the Valorous is a datamined buff to acquiring Valor. Earlier on the 5.4.8 PTR, it was enabled for all characters, but has since been removed.

Finally, Gaze of the Black Prince is a datamined buff for players working on the legendary questline. Reputation with The Black Prince is easier and the droprates on Secrets of the Empire, Sigil of Wisdom, Sigil of Power, and Titan Runestone have been buffed. Warforged Nightmare is a fiery mechanical mount that comes with Nightmarish Hitching Post, which allows additional players to temporarily transform their mounts. A similar mount, but with a blue model, was previewed by Blizzard in 2013 as an upcoming Blizzard Shop item.

Grinning Reaver was recently teased by Blizzard as a "savage" mount, so we may see this closer to Warlords.

I've seen no mention of either encounters scaling up nor how people will be solo'ing Immers. :} Seriously, this(if its true) adding 8 more itm lv's to each piece of Heroic gear/weapons..will be , um. amazing. New records will be set .. and u should see a ton of more H Soo runs.
