This ability is obviously an attempt to improve Hunters in arena. It looks to be pretty good, making having pets on you not the end of the DPS world. Remember that whatever you are fighting can still cancel your attack by moving into melee range, so be prepared for that.

"Pushback" is that little delay that makes your 2 second casts turn into 5 seconds (due to hits taken during combat).

Moving hit rating from Tier 4/5 in the Survival Tree to Tier 1 in any tree is a bonus, can stack different gems now instead of Hit.

For now, while still at 70, this talent lowers hit cap from 142 to 95 just as the surefooted talent did in survival tree pre 3.0.

I am sooooo mad that they put the +3% to hit in the marksman tree because now it messes up so many survival builds that I had for my hunter. That is 3 more points in MM that could be well spent in survival or a higher part in MM like Improved Stings.

No its actually great because all hunters can have access to it and if you consider that there are so few items with hit rating for us in TBC (maybe in WOTLK this will change) its a great bonus. All Hunters must spend 3 points to Focused Aim.

Something that I find a bit confusing (and I'm not sure if it's a bug or not) is that the added +hit is not shown in your total hit chance in your character info, it seems. Unlike for example extra RAP from other talents.

I just switched to an MM build last night and was a bit baffled when my +hit chance seemed unaffected by the talent, but I guess it's just a matter of lowering the needed amount by 3% (or however many points you put into it).

Regardless I love it's position in the trees, like was mentioned before. =)

If you intend to play BM 2dps or 3dps, get this talent. Nothing does more damage in arena than a BM Hunter who can spam steadys unhindered. You will easily kill anything that tries to outnuke you, for instance, keeping the other team on their heels from the start.

However if you want the intim+scatter build it's not worth compromising it for Careful Aim. Go with this.

This talent currently has no effect on a hunter pet's chance to hit.

I've been thinking of grabbing this talent for a while now, but I can't seem to figure it out. Would sacrificing the points needed to max this talent be worth the stats that could be used on your gears iLevel? I'm seeing alot of mail lacking +hit and focusing more on AP and crit, but I'd like to not completely gimp my hit rating by socketing everything with +hit gems

good talent if you missing some hit rating, but if you hit caped(which is fairly easy in WOTLK) skip it for more damage

With Focused aim You only need 5% hit rating which is about 150 hit (not sure about that) to get to 8%
But FA does not apply to your pet.

it IS applying to a pet.
I wonder if putting 3 talnets into this and taking gear with more AP is better/worse than taking gear with hit rating and putting these talents somewhere else. I predict that FA is better choice but...
Maybe some calculations?

Agreed. This talent is an actual increase in the hunter's dps, since we only have to reach the 163,90 hit rating to be hit capped, allowing us to use more hit-rating-less gear that boosts our damage more.

There's a bug with pet not getting expertise from this thus making the enemy able to dodge pet attacks. I confirmed this on test dummy having 212 hit and 2/3 FA one of my pet's attacks were dodged when I did a quick test. I hope this will be fixed as well.

If you wish to correct my information, fine. But you did not present the correct information nor did you cite any sources. The information that Zehitman was eluding to is found in the patch note's of 3.2.0 under the section "Classes: General"

All pets now receive 40% of their master's resilience and 100% of their master's spell penetration. In addition, if a player is at their appropriate spell hit chance or hit chance maximum, their pet will be at the maximum for spell hit chance, hit chance, and expertise. If they are below the maximum, their pet will be proportionately below those maximums.

I am sorry I made a mistake, but the situation is counterintuitive.

However making snide remarks (such as "why do you even talk on the forums?") is not called for.
