Its a magic effect. Improved mend pet removes it, as well the felhunter's devour magic. If you are playing a demonologyst lock, you can just simply summon an another felguard in half a second. It has 3 minutes cooldown, so hardly usable twice in a duel. Ridiculously overpowered? Doubt it.

guys you are looking at this the wrong way, put this on the MT in a raid when there hp is getting low, whenever that boss/mob attack the tank, he gets healed for 2% of his hp, thats alot for a tank, say he has 20k in a raid, thats 400 extra healing to the tank each attack, thats a pretty nice dmg migitation. and you could use it twice in a boss fight, that could save a tank from dying and you guys from wiping twice.

You can only place it on enemy targets, so that dispells the ability to put it on main tanks. But this would help on a raid boss/mob that does AoE damage. It deals the damage, and then reheals everyone for 2% of their health. This would also be fun to use on a rogue, if you can use it before he/she uses Kidney Shot that gives you that extra % change to kill the rogue.

It would still work since it's just the other way around. You put this on the boss and whenever the boss hits the tank he gets healed so it's still imba in raids :D

Unless I'm mistaken, you don't know what your talking about LordStriid. This shouldn't have any effect on a test dummy. You place it on an enemy target and whenever they deal damage it heals whoever they hit. Unless you somehow got the mark on yourself and it healed the test dummy every hit.
You make it sound like you get healed when you hit the dummy. I'm not on Beta so let me know if I'm missing something.

Fat chance but I wonder if these are able to stack, i.e. multiple DKs throwing this down on the same target, or if it'd just overwrite. Any testers in the know?

This wil probably be changed in live to include a "healing can only occur once every x seconds", or else it will be an I win button verses rogues/kitty druids. But honestly I hope it doesn't, screw rogues. Rogues can always pop a CoC, so kittys will be affected the most.

Anyone thought of putting this on the MT of the opposing faction, while he's tanking a World Boss? Sure, the healers can dispel it, but if they're slacking the boss can quickly regain 8-12% of its health in a matter of seconds(considering that most tanks use a ~1.6 speed weapon). Also if it procs off of dots like Rend, Consecration etc, that would just heal the boss even quicker.

Hopefully bosses will get immune to the healing from this ability though

Good luck killing a faction leader if there is an enemy DK around. Puts MoB on rogue (fast attacks) and bam, faction leaders gets at least 300k hp back per hit.

It's also helpful to put this on Hunter pets in PvP. Most players are smart enough to realize they have this debuff and simply snare you and run for the duration, but pets tend to be overlooked; also, unlike players, they can be taunted, which gives you a bit more control.

20 second duration, 3 min cooldown. Can you imagine a 25 man raid with nine blood DK's, all keeping rotating Mark of Blood on a boss that does a lot of AoE? Granted it wouldn't heal through all of the AoE damage, but my god, the strain it would take off the healers. Can you imagine it in 25-man Naxx, on Sapphiron?

Currently a physical effect. Not removable by cloak of shadows on current build, but should be in 3.0.8.

This was nerfed once again to be 10 second duration in PvP in the 3.0.8 patch, in addition to only have 20 charges.

patch 3.1, since gargolye is being swapped with unholy blight (51point unholy), now unholy pvp specs will have to choose between Mark of Blood and getting Gargolye

unusual indirect nerf without actually nerfing gargolye a 2nd time (earlier one was cutting its max duration by half, used to last up to a minute)

Tank wise you take much larger hits from bosses on top of that you have to consider your avoidance as well because if they don't hit you, you don't gain health making spending the point kinda of useless for PvE raid tanking, besides, your healers should be taking care of heals or there's problems in the first place.

This part I also disagree with. Every little bit to lighten the load off healers or just reduce the damage of a boss might be the little bit between a wipe and a kill.

Not only that, but it works on AOEs. You're not just healing yourself here, you're reducing the damage the whole raid is taking.

Not only that, but I have 45k health raid buffed and flasked. Each hit would heal me right back for 1800. I'd consider that pretty meaty, especially compared to other useful effects.

Hmm, It's another cooldown, and not a bad one, but I think looking at its effects on the tank would be a mistake.

In Ulduar, you often get hit for 50-60% of your health, so the 4% you get back won't make much of a difference - you have better cooldowns to survive things.

Now, in places where there is some AoE damage, this can help. Sure, the limited number of charges kinda sucks, but on 10man, I see a lot of places where this can be helpful, and in 25man it can easily make the difference between a wipe and narrowly surviving something.

Running some numbers in my head, I can't say that it's a must have talent, or even that it's great in pve, but it definatly has it's uses.
(It's basically a 25k heal, spread out through people getting hit.)

This talent shines on dual-wielding bosses like Algalon, where it will heal you multiple times in a burst damage scenario which can add up to 6 to 10k EH.

Even on other bosses though, MoB is 2k effective health for the duration of the debuff if you are going to get 2shot, 4k EH if you're gonna get 3-shot, and so on... Every bit counts.

On Valithra, On Deathwhisper, On Lk, On Blood Princes, You can put this mark on off mobs and or bosses and it has a very high viability
