Here at Wowhead we love art - drawing, painting, sculpting, woodworking, metalworking, jewelry making, papercrafting, badge making, everything under the sun.
In an effort to share what our wonderful community does, we are trying out what we like to call the "Wowhead's Artist's Corner"! About once a month, we will feature an artist and their craft. This article will feature a small description of themselves so that you can get to know them just a bit, show off their art, and learn more about what they do. And of course, there will be a special giveaway for one of their items.
This month we will be featuring:
We spoke with uzZzy and asked him to tell us a little about himself.
Who are you and what do you do?
I am uzZzy aka UUZ. I'm a CG artist and I paint Warcraft arts and other stuff
Is your art a hobby or something you would like to make a career out of?
It's a hobby and job at the same time. I dream that I'll become a really cool artist and will co-work with game studios
How did you first become interested in World of Warcraft?
My first meeting with WOW happened when I was 12-13 years old or something. I played with my friends and it was one of the happiest moments in my life. Minute of nostalgia
How does World of Warcraft inspire the art that you do?
I'm inspired by the universe of Warcraft and by the great designs of talented artists. It really pushes me to move and grow up as an artist
What is your favorite Warcraft art piece or in-game model or item?
I think I can't count them. So many beautiful arts. Lately, I have been watching Bayard Wu's and Cole Eastburn's arts. My respect for them
Has your style or practices changed much since your first Warcraft-related artwork to today?
The thing is my first CG art was exactly Warcraft-related artwork. So I always use warcraft style as the reference
Do you use Wowhead tools such as the model-viewer or dressing room to aid in your artwork?
Sure. I use the dressing room quite often for examining armors and weapon design
What are your dreams in relation to your art?
I dream that I work with cool game studios one day. Probably with Blizzard, who knows, hah.
