Easily soloable as a demonology warlock. All demons here can be feared and banished and with the felguard it makes it a cake walk.

Bit of information on these mobs. The tinkerers come in packs of 4 at a time. Seem to be leashed to one another. The engineers sometimes cast the magnetic pull spell which pulls someone to them, making them hard to kite. This only happened once of the 3 kites I did solo on them so I'm not sure if it was just a bug, or if its just something they do very rarely. Its definitely less common from them then it is on the next to quest encounters in the chain. The Legionnaires are just a straight melee type elite, hit fairly hard.. Not something to go toe to toe with unless you have a bit of backup.

From this part on the chain, all the others requires a group to kill a couple guys so if you don´t wanna waste ur time now just look for a group to do the whole chain.
After this step you gonna do one in Shat´tar, another one around Shat´tar, fly back to this NPC, enter the forges one more time and your done.

Solo'd this part of the quest as a 66 feral druid. The tinkerers are easy in bear form. Engineers are not totally hard but if you don't work it right, they might kill you. The legionaires are prob the most difficult for a feral druid. Charge them and kill their cannons first, then bash, shift out, entangle root them and heal. Once healed, just let the root take it's corse so that bash can cool down. Then go back in for more. Tank, bash, root, heal... takes some time but works like a charm. Keep some health potions on hand to use incase bash is dodged, blocked, parried, etc. You should be ok. ;-)

Level 67 undead shadow priest with good gear... don't recommend trying to solo it as the first engineer I came across pwned me pretty hard.

I would like to thank Dradyn (lvl 67 Tauren Hunter) and Tanaka (Tauren Prot Spec Warrior) on Draka for helping me with the rest of the quest line. Once you have a decent pug, all but the last quest are a cake walk.

As a 66 Frost Mage, I could kill every monsters but the Legionnaires. They hit about 1,000 non-crit, they have about 31,000hp and they have an ability to make us jump. Also, as soon as we leave the camp and get on the grass, he goes back to his spot.
Tinkers are easy, just focus on one. They can't be sheeped since they are demons.
Engineers can be a pain if they use their ability "Magnatical Pull" (Not sure of the name). If they do, blink out fast or prepare to frost nova, otherwise you'll die soon.

All of them hit hard on a cloth class. That's why you can't be hit or you won't solo the quest.

lvl69 42/0/18 arcane/frost mage... very easy to do that quest solo

legionnaries are harder than the rest, but they are still very doable.. just kite them with frostbite+permafrost, or if you are full frost with bonus frostnova given by the elemental

just aoe the tinkerers and the engineers have just 18k hp

Did this quest as a lvl 67 Demonology Warlock. I enslaved a Felguard Legionnaire. And i wasted about 5 Soul Shard's couse the enslavement broke. But it was fairly easy... Did it in 10 mins =)

As a Level 70 Hunter I soloed this.

The Legionnaires can be kited to Garadar where they will be attacked by the lvl 70+ guards.

Note: they can ONLY be kited if you first kill the Fel Canon they stand by.

Send pet in aggro canon, kill canon then recall pet. The Legionnaire will follow. Keep running and jump shooting Concusive Shot (to slow him down) and Serpent Sting (to damage him). When appraoching bridges, where a jump shot could result in a long fall, drop a Frost Trap to slow him down.

Hopefully by the time you get to Garadar the sting would have done enough damage for you to claim the kill before the guards slaughter him. Make sure to keep attacking while guards are pounding on him though.

Helpful note for locks: when u enslave felguard, kill some mobs, and when hp of your felguard will be low, dissmiss it, fear, dot up and nuke, so it would be faster completing it.

This quest is soloable as a frost mage. The tinkerers can be AoE'd down, and the engineers are a fairly straightforward frost kite. If the engineers use their Magnetic Pull ability, quickly blink away or Frost Nova and run.

The Legionnaires are a bit more problematic. As mentioned earlier, they are only kiteable if you take out the cannon they are at first. Put up Ice Barrier and Fire Ward, and start out by nuking the cannon. When the Legionnaire reaches you, Frost Nova and finish off the cannon. Cone of Cold the Legionnaire for the snare, then start kiting it around. Watch out for the knockback, which has a surprisingly long range.

if you are a hunter, here is your strat

i solo'ed this quest as 70 hunter, but the strat i used could be used effectively to solo even if you are 67-68.

For the legionnaires, you can pull these without aggro'ing the cannons, hit from range with anything but serpent sting. Turn pet growl off, place freeze trap on ground and back up, keep shooting. he gets trapped, wait for trap cooldown.... (helps to have survival spec with 30sec trap CD) pop trap with aimed shot, shoot more place trap, repeat until dead.

for the engineers. use the basic pet tank and mend strat, your pet will probably die unless you have alot more stam than i did, after pet dies, do your best to follow the legionnaire strat, the engineers have a magnetic pull which makes it more difficult, but it is still possible.

Tinkerers, have pet attack the pack of 4 making sure that he gets hits on 2-3, cast mend pet, this will aggro 1-2 onto you, trap 1. then just kill 'em. they are simple.

general tip, there are lvl 67 and 68 legionnaires and engineers, the 67's are FAR easier =]

Grabbed a legionnaire, tanked another legionnaire. When the target was dead, I fearkited the one I used as tank.

As for the cannons, I sent the VW to tank the first legionnare, while I nuked the cannon. When the cannon was "dead", I enslaved the legionnaire, and sent him over to another legionnaire. While he was "tanked", I nuked this cannon aswell.

The tinkerers were very fast murdered by my "legionnaire-pet" :)

Also used Legionnaire as tank for the Enginneers.

I soloed this as a 66 Frost Mage. The Legionnaires are the hardest. The tinkers can just be aoe'd to death and the engineer just has to be kited.

The Legionnaire hits hard so be careful. You also cant pull it far onto the grass or it'll evade and run back. Best to clear away any surrounding mobs, I used this rotation:

Have Water Elemental take first shot at him
Use Elementals' nova spell to root mob
Frostbolt
Ice Lance
Use your own Frost Nova
Frostbolt
Ice Lance
Repeat

Soloed with lvl 70 fire specced mage with normal lvl 70 instance gear.

None of the mobs were immune to frost nova, dragon's breath's disorient or the snare from Blast Wave.

Mobs hit very hard, so always stay at safe range.

Definately not easy, but doable when you blink at right moment, etc. :)

The Legionaires are kitable, which is exactly what I had to do because I couldn't find a group for the quest.

I kept Aspect of the Viper up, turned growl off of my pet, and used arcane shot/serp sting/conc shot as often as they were up. I also dropped immolation traps to do more damage, and then went to ice trap as i got low on mana.

Be sure to shoot him every 5-6 seconds (which arcane shot should cover) so that he doesn't lose aggro. You should be able to get in an auto shot here and there though, so deaggroing should be no problem.

Can be done with a 70 resto shammy easily enough. 5/5 in healing focus, and an earth shield. I used my fire elemental to help kill one legionnare, and earth elemental for the other.

For the engineers, just pick them off one by one, keep earth shield up on yourself and flame shock up on the mob. Heal up regularly, and keep batting away at him.

For the little fellas, easy to take a group of them. AOE flame totems really handy here.

I don't know if this only counts for the server Arathor...
Some Fel Canons seems to be bugged. Meaning, sometimes a canon will be shooting you without you even been able to see it. And you do take damage. However, you sometimes can still mount up.
Pets can aggro and kill it.
Another bug is the Fel Canon with a range that seems to go all wild, it can shoot ya even when you are in a town! This one doesn't seem to do damage, but you can see the green flickering on your character.

Some Engineers may also be bugged, when you die and try to attack the Engineer it'll just evade everything, and it won't attack you.

Great tip for warlocks using enslave demon is really awesome. Those Legionnaires have a lot of hitpoints and hit very hard. However they will grow aggressive to you very quickly. So maybe only one mob at a time to play it safe.

To be honest it looks like those mobs can be hit by all kind of cc, like fear, root, slowing effects etc.
Only thing they cannot be hit by will be... Hibernate, Polymorph and Sap.
Also... as others have said quest is piece of cake as warlock.

Solod as 66 shadow priest. It's gonna take everything you have. He runs about the same speed as you but can be feared. Keep dots and shield up, shadowfiend when you need to, and just kite him. Try not to get hit too much and I wouldn't recommend leaving shadow form.

Soloed as a level 70 Protection Warrior. It wasn't fast, and it involved pulling off just about every trick short of 30 minute cool-downs, but it's possible.

Soloed as a 66 Warlock fairly easy. Just enslave one of the Felguards, kill another Felguard while Health Funnelling them and DoT'ing. I killed the one with 6k health left on the one I enslaved, then dismissed, feared, and DoT'd for the second kill. The tinkerers are a piece of cake, and the engineers are easy if you can get them alone. Make sure if you die from a felguard that breaks his chains that you enslave a different demon next else they'll break fast.

Just did this as a 66 hunter, BM specced with Aimed Shot and 2/3 Hawk Eye. The Tinkerers and Engineers can be tanked by your pet just fine, but you'll need to kite the Legionnaires.

Start out from a max range on the Legionnaire, with Aspect of the Hawk on. Make sure your pet's Growl is off auto-cast, and Hunter's Mark is up. Start out with your best 3-shot combo (Aimed->Arcane->Auto if you have Aimed Shot, Steady->Arcane->Auto if not). Immediately begin running towards the road (to kite along it), and sick your pet on him. After a few yards, when you are out of range of the cannon's shots, pop Aspect of the Cheetah. Get a Serpent Sting up on him for constant damage (and keep it refreshed!). From there, rotate Arcane Shot and Distracting Shot to keep his aggro while your pet, Serpent Sting and Arcane Shot eat away. When Frost Trap is up, drop it and turn around to spam your high-powered shots, then resume running like hell. If you are BM specced, do the same with Intimidation. And if you find yourself low on health, pop Freezing Trap and bandage up.

At some point during that battle your pet will pass up your threat, and get aggro. At this point, pop Mend Pet and use it as a chance to unleash some high powered moves. When the pet dies, resume your kite. You also will be unable to use Aspect of the Viper, because you will need Cheetah to keep at a range. Because of this, I recommend grabbing a mana potion.

Also, if you are Alliance, head south on the road, otherwise you may run into Garadar and get owned by guards. Likewise, Horde run north; if you pump out too little damage, the mob may last until Telaar, and you don't want to run into guards there.

I just soloed this part with a level 70 Frost mage. This is extremly easy if you just have the right timing.

To kill the legoiners, simply pull at max range.
When pulled you will agro the cannons too. But if you blink away from them directly as they aggro you´ll loose them.
After this just spam away with frostbolt and alternate between frost nova and blink to keep distance.

Engineers go down just as easy, but with diffrent tactics since they are a bit hader to kite.Again, pull att max range and alter between nova and blink to keep distance.
If they use the magnetic beam to pull you close, simply pop Icebarrier and run away.

The Trinketers are the easiest part, simply nuke the first until he ide, by that time hes buddies should have come inte melee range.
Nova them and then run away. Use Blizard to do some damage and slow them down. after that hit them with Cone of cold. Blink away and then nova them again, now finish them of with Blizzard.

Did it in 10 minues without dying once, so this is truely one of the easiest group quests in Nagrand.

The only thing I couldn't solo was the Legionnaire as a 68 Spriest. He his really hard and wasn't much I could do to subdue him. The Engineers were easy though.

I soloed this part of the quest as a 66 frost mage, I read the other's comment after i've started the quest, and it seem's that the other mages have trouble killing the Legionnaires and I can't understand why :P I killed both my Legionnaires, and I didn't even use pet once during this quest.

I thought that this quest was a real cake walk, and i'll give you my tips how I did it.

Engineers:

The engineers have a really pain in the ass Magnetic Pull, but I try to save my blink for that, and then just own them :D They are really just doing frostbolt+ice lance combo when they're frozen, so you might get that double crit if your lucky :D

Legionnaires:

The legionnaires have an annoying jump effect, but I try to stay at max range when I start, and then just kite them with frostbolt and frost nova. I did not use pet on any of these, and I don't understand ppl that does, unless they want them to go down fast :P If you really can't solo them, try frostbolt abusing with rank 1, to get an easy head start after blinking etc.

Trinketers:

Just really easy mobs :D If you have imp CoC, just pull all of em, I usually get to kill one of em before the 3 other's reach me, then just frost nova + CoC and you should be fine :D

67 lock here. Having some trouble trying to solo. First try, tried to banish the demon and kill the fel cannon- banish failed and I got owned. Second try, successfully banished the demon, took out the cannon, bandaged, enslave demon failed. Curse of exhaustion to kite, feared, curse of elements to make enslave demon stick, tried enslave demon again, it worked... and promptly broke after 10 seconds. Since my health was still down from the first failure, got owned again. :(

I say you're not a n00b if you can't solo as a lock that does not have 5/5 in Suppression and is below 68.

Solo'd as a level 68 Enhancement Shaman. I could handle up to two engineers at a time. Spirit Wolves were all that was needed. Earthliving weapon helped give the instant heals a little push but I never dropped below 67% HP.

Go in, fight an elite with all totems down and spirit wolves out.
Once it's down pull a set of 4 tinkerers while SW cools down
Repeat

You can solo this as a Death Knight by first nuking the cannon, then doing damage to the Felguard Legionnaire and when he is low just kite and nuke with Chains of Ice.

Soloed as 66 frost mage using some suggestions above (I used my pet for extra insurance).

There are two legionnaires on the northeast side of FC:F that can be pulled solo without cannons, and there's also a demon gate on the southwest side of the camp where there are two engineers who can also be pulled alone.

Basically, I did what others did which is to kite them around in a tight circle near where they were spawned. Legionnaires are hardest since they can do the most damage, but I had a few pots handy just in case, plus the mana ruby.

In the case of engineers, I died the first time since I wasn't aware of Magnetic Pull (which btw doesn't work on the elemental, so just keep as much distance as possible), but after that I didn't even take a hp of damage. Using the pet to start off, slow the engy with FB / IL, used pet's nova and then mine when it broke. By the time it was out of the second FN, it was pretty much dead.

Solo'ed as a 67 Feral Druid.

Here was the strat I followed, mileage may vary.

Tinkerers

Cast faerie fire while in bear form let them come to me to avoid any possible pat agro and swiped to death.

Engineers

Cast faerie fire while in bear. Waited til 80-85 rage then cast berserk and mangle/maul til I was out of rage. Bash, entangle, heal, HoTs. Cat form to quickly finish and get the most out of HoTs.

Legionnaires

Put my heal set on that had me at 350 sp 430 healing. Entangled the legionnaire and quickly nuked down the cannon. From there it was simply starfire spam so long as he was rooted. If I ran low on mana I just kept him rooted and let me 350 spi regen some mana. First one took quite awhile but the second one went down pretty quick.

Solo'd as a 69 Prot Warrior. Didn't have that much decent gear, mostly quest rewards. Charged the cannon, shockwave, killed the canon, then took the Legionnaire down, didn't even have to pop last stand, my trinket or Lifeblood. Engineers were easy as pie.

Solo'd fairly easy as a level 67 BM hunter.

Tinkerers were a piece of cake, but they pulled 4 or so at a time. Just pull them, send pet (Crocolisk, for anybody wondering. Bear would work too) and have him hold aggro while you just volley them down.

Engineers were also easy. Pulled one at a time (which is simple, really, you have to try to get more than one), mend pet, and just dps him down while the pet holds the aggro.

Legionnaires were the hardest of the lot, but weren't too difficult, didn't have to kite at all. Mend pet first, and then send the pet in. They hit for 500-700 damage normally on my pet with 49% physical damage reduction, and my mend pet was ticking for 749, so it wasn't too challenging. At times, had to distracting shot and dps him while he struggled to get to me while my pet got a few extra ticks of the mend pet in, but did that no more than once per Legionnaire.

Good luck to anyone soloing, it's one of my favorite parts of being a hunter.

Solo'd as a 66 Prot Warrior. Strategies:

Go to the Forge Fear Camp (closest to quest giver). This camp is lower level, elites at 68. There are two legionnaires posted near the middle of the camp. I took those out first. Be careful, they will respawn before you finish the others.
Next move to the left wall (cliff) There are Tinkerers there. Attack the one closest to you and back up to avoid drawing unwanted attention from Engineers.
After that, kill one of the engineers that you will have seen further into the camp.
Find the next bunch of tinkerers just a bit into the camp - kill those.
One more Engineer and you are done.
I didn't have any health potions on me or I would have used one on the Legionnaires. So, to be prepared you should probably have at least two.

With Legionnaire's: Pop Bloodrage, charge cannon, kill cannon FIRST, alternate spamming interrupts (concussion blow, shockwave) with damage skills (devastate, shield slam, revenge, heroic strike), make sure to keep your shouts active (battle shout, demoralizing shout). You shouldn't need to activate Shield Wall, but use it if you have to (you won't need it for Engineers or Tinkerers). Oh, and activate berserker rage to keep your rage levels high enough.
As with any elite you want to slow his attacks and stun him whenever possible! I finished the legionnaires with about 1000 health left (out of 8789) each time.

Tinkerers will all aggro at once, but it isn't an issue, they all go down easy.

Engineers: If you can handle the legionnaires, this is easy. Watch for their proximity to Tinkerers so you don't aggro more than you want to.

Solo'd as a 67 Warlock.

All the demons can be enslaved, except the Pit Lord. Grab a Felguard Legionnaire as they hit the hardest and can take the most punishment.

In fact, this entire quest chain can be solo'd as a 67 Warlock.

Non insanely high damage per second/crowd control types will need some friends to complete. (It non-frost mage, non-warlock) I did with a 66 feral druid and 65 arms/fury warrior. Me: 66 protection paladin with some decent healing gear. I kept them alive while they took the bad guys down. It was a little tight at times and this was no easy quest but we did it with no deaths.

So phone a friend. That is all.

Step 2: Send it after 4-pulls and the elites.
Step 3: NEVER heal it.
Step 4: When Legionnaire is at low health, summon up a pet, attack, and win.

Warlocks have an advantage on this quest because of enslave demon. All u have to do is enslave one of the legionnaires and turn him on the engineers, both are 67 or 68 elites so if u do it correctly u can use one leg. for two eng. after u kill the eng's u can dismiss leg use fel domination bring out your felguard and finish off the leg. u have to do it twice to get the 2 legs and 3 eng's u need but saves u from having to put a group together. then just grind the tinkerers and ur done. good luck.

This entire quest chain is soloable. It's kind of silly that every step in it has a 3 man suggestion. I mean, the first step is to hop on a free ride on a nether drake, no combat. "3-man"? What the hell?

All the monsters in this chain are kiteable, and all but the last can be frozen, feared, etc.

Step 1 - Survey the Land: Ride the drake. Collect XP.
Step 2 - Buying Time: Kill monsters. If you can handle a single mob of 30k hp, and a group of four 5k hp monsters, you will be fine. Just kite, freeze, fear, whatever.
Step 3 - The Master Planner. Single monster of 30k hp, very easy. Only trick is his magnetic pull which is an anti-kite. But it seems like you can run out of it, breaking it... or something. In any event, not challenging, just re-kite.
Step 4 - Patience and Understanding (Shattrath). Single monster of 22k hp. Hits hard and bugs a lot, but again can be kited very easily. Also has magnetic pull.
Step 5 - Crackin' Some Skulls. Three easy monsters you fight separately. The ogre is probably the hardest, but he's easy compared with Step 4.
Step 6 - It's that easy? Walk back to Altrius and collect XP.
Step 7 - Forge Camp: Annihilated. Two 62k bosses must be killed. Either get a group or run them back to base, and the guards will kill them for you. They cannot be snared or feared, but they walk very slow, so you can just lead them by the nose back to town. After you kill them, head back (they'll have respawned). You can pull them off (I used a water elemental), or you can just activate the key to finish the quest. Unlike most channeled abilities, it doesn't break on damage. And the second boss didn't attack me at all where I was when I activated the key. Your mileage may vary.

I just soloed this as a 68 BM (41/18/0) hunter with 7607 health and 4615 mana. Pet has 5410 health and 8869 armor. Faced both Felguards lvl 67, just kited them down the road and whenever intimidation was up i used it, aimed shotted, and popped a mana pot almost every fight (i know :P). I turned growl off on my pet but still let him wail on the guy while i was kiting. ALWAYS KEEP CHEETAH ON. The tinkerers were simple, popped beast within, owned, and done. The engineers were the toughest. First 2 were 67 and did the same trick as felguards, went down a little easier. Third one was 68, and the first time he had magnetic pulled me and killed me. Second time i kited him and he didnt magnetic pull at all, downed him.

They are all around 25.38. The 8 tinkerers are easy enough, they pull in groups of 3-4. The engineers are tougher but not that bad. I used my water elemental to pull, had to use coldsnap and all cooldowns for each engineer and Felguard Legionnaire so it took a while but was do-able.

Warlocks, pull the elites outside and keep them feared. If you overpull one, use Banish. Very easy to solo.

The Tinkerers, although not elite, might pose a problem as you will aggro 3, occasionally 4 at once, but nothing terribly difficult.

Description

As long as the transporters stand, nothing we do to the forge camps will have any permanence. We must find a way to destroy the Legion structures.

I need time to devise a plan of attack. If you can keep their engineers and tinkerers busy, it would greatly slow down their progress, buying me the time I need.

Stay as far away as possible from the overseers, <name>. They are extremely dangerous beings.
