Very difficult to find, I believe there is only one spawn of the tower and it lingers around the U in at Plaguewood in the Eastern Plaguelands map. (top left ish)

You can find these at various spawn points, a few that I spotted were in the vicinity of these coordinates.

Located in Eastern Plaguelands in Plaguewood, just South of the tower.

It's not too bad once you know what to look for, there really isnt a set pattern.

The Large Termite Mounds from which you need to extract the termites are located in several spots in the area south of Stratholme within the Undead encampments. They look like little juts of ground with a green ring on top. Each mound will give you around 20 termites when you use the Empty Termite Jar on it, so collecting 100 will not be as daunting as it first sounds.

If you end up with over 100 (which will more than likely happen), simply discard the rest, as you will not need them.

Each termite mound gives around 20 somethin or more, so don't worry, gathering 100 termites isn't as hard as it sounds.

Don't know why this hasn't been corrected, but I received only 8150 xp for completing it at level 55, not 24k as stated above.

Absurdly easy quest. Just soloed it as a level 53 prot pally with resurrection sickness. If you have any issues just stick to the outsides of plaguewood and ride along the border until you see an open mound, then run in and grab it. Mobs around there were dropping aggro very quickly if I got one and had to run.

Just to save some people some running around, these termite mounds have the glittering gold aura about them like other items that you "pick up" for quests.

When I first started the quest I was walking up to any rock formation that looked vaguely green on top, finding the termite jar and right clicking it in an attempt to collect termites, which obviously is not the case. Just look for the twinkling ones and your mouse will turn into the gear symbol.

Just run into plaguewood and there are 3 next to the road half way in. Easy quest and you really don't even need to fight anyone. The mounds respawn in under a minute or two.

they look like mounds of dirt bout 5 feet tall with a green(bright green flim on top the one i found is in the town in the plague lands

I am a 51 rogue. I soloed this and died twice. It was quite possibly the easiest quest I've done in the Plaguelands yet.

This quest will fail in the above described ways if you are in a raid group. Before having a conniption fit, check and make sure you have left the last group you were in.

Thanks to the person who posted the picture of the termite mound. I was confused as hell with all the different mounds in Plaguelands, some with green on top, that were the appropriate size.

I was getting very annoyed with this quest. After I knew what to look for I completed it very quickly. I have submitted a screenshot to the site. They are located randomly. sometimes next to Giant Mushrooms and some times not.

This is a very easy quest once you know what to look for.

I soloed this quest with my lvl 51 mage. Its possible to do this as that low lvl, but died a few times because the hives where surrounded with lvl 56-58 mobs. Anyway, it was fun, and got 5650xp, but the money reward sucked...

For you pack rats, like myself...

you need 1 open space for "Plagueland Termites" as well as the "Empty Termite Jaw". The termites stack to 100 but since there's no set amount of termites per mound, you may end up going over 100 which will require an additional inventory spot.

I have a couple of termites left in my inventory after completing the quest. (well, not completely. I didn't get the "go back and get some more xp"-quest even though I did everything in that lumbermill.)
Are they used for anything else?

These things are everywhere and grinding here is not such a bad idea either. There are at least 4 other quests that can be fulfilled here. Here are some more corrd.

I went afk at the 35,35 mound and came back and it had respawned so if you're lower level (I was 51 when I did this quest) you can stick around a little longer and wait for them to respawn.

After using stoneclaw+spirit wolf and earthbind+spirit wolf a lot, I managed to get into Plaguewood up to 29,36 and stayed at the base of the ramp leading up to the big horned building. AFKed for the mound to respawn, and soloed this quest as a level 50 shaman. :P

What I had to do to complete this quest was place it upon the crate, and then right-click the barrel as it was sitting there to accept the return quest.

Easy.

I discovered that you can just sit for a second and they respawn fairly fast. I got one, went to grab a beer, came back and it was there again. So I said "Let's try this again". Went for a quick bio break, and sure enough, there it was again. Got 61 termites from the same mound in a few minutes.

Soloed this with a lvl 49 Shaman. It was a bit tricky, what with having to avoid hostile mobs, but I didn't die once. Aggroed a bat a couple of times but luckily my mount could outrun them.
The trick, for a low level, is to keep coming back to the gate when waiting for new mounds to spawn. And of course look out for the patrol group of hostile undead that come through the gate sometimes.

There is a way to screw up this quest for good. After you have collected the Termite's and gone back to get the next part of the quest make sure not to toss away the loose termites that appear in your inventory. Having though they were extra termites as I had though I had a barrel full. After getting to the mill and putting the barrel on the crate it leaks green smoke but without the termites in your inventory you will not get a complete for the quest. If however someone has found a way to fix this ^^ let me know. Yes I tried to abandon quest and start over but it just gives you a new barrel :P.

This is a good quest to do with Defenders of Darkshire. if you go to the northern part of Eastern Plaguelands you can find a lot 53-55 undead in Plaguewood that easily killed. Also thats where the termite mounds are located. Its worth it to kill the other undead for the Scourgestones. You'll also need to be careful as there are 57-58 level Abominations roaming. They are easy to avoid, but are brutal if they agro. I completed these quest as a level 53 warlock.

The spawn rate has been changed.
it is no longer 1 minute. They respawn at an alternate locaation so you have to move around and find them. The coords in the earlier post are still valid but I saw them at many other locations also.

1 thing I noticed while camping the same one for a respawn is that it didn't always appear in the exact same place. At one point the area I was in had it by a tree, after a respawn it was by the road.

Plaguewood is in the NW corner of the Eastern Plaguelands. Just follow the road around and you will run right into it.

The termite mounds are found throughout Plaguewood. They look like tree stumps and they sparkle, so you can find them pretty easily.

I didn't have to kill anything to complete this quest, and the mobs in the area are around level 53-58, most being 55-56.

You get a lot of termites per mound, so you should be able to complete this in 5-7 mounds. My mounds provided: 11, 17, 20, 24, 21 & 14.

Return the quest to Mickey Levine 83,72, at the Bulwark between Tirisfal Glades & the Western Plaguelands.

Use the Empty Termite Jar on the Termite Mounds in Eastern Plaguelands. After you've gathered 100 Plagueland Termites, return to Mickey Levine at the Bulwark in Tirisfal Glades.

Description

So, to bring pain and strife to the Scarlet Crusade, I want to take their precious lumber mill from them. I'm sure the loss of such a resource will cause them a great deal of harm in defending and rebuilding the town for their own reasons. Will you help me, <name>?

Start by taking this jar to Plaguewood in the Eastern Plaguelands. Fill it with the termites you find in their mounds throughout the woods. Come back when you have enough.
