If the mob you need isn't there, you might have to kill a few of the others that seem to be too numerous... others will spawn in its place.. one of those quests where you need three different mobs and there are like about seven different ones in the area.

The hard thing is to find the Shamans. You have to look for them, so i suggest you should go and kill the shamans first, becouse you will anyway agro some of the other mobs you have to kill in the quest

Just so you know, the shamans aren't in the exact same place as the others, they're further south in another ruins area. the locs are near 'em but the brutes are to the north.

They are all placeholders for each other. That means that if you can't find a specific type of mob, just kill others and they will spawn.

I found the brutes & Warlocks easily at 60, 55

But the shamans were kinda tough till i found cave at 61, 69
but watch out if ur like a 43 or 44 there is 2 Warlords patorling entrence, i just prowled in being the lvl 43 druid that i am lol....
well the cave is full of shammys

If you dont have Cords Find the path leading up to Dire Maul as soon as you get near the place it will add it to your map/Discovered and its directly South of the Dire Maul Path.

This quest was pretty rough for me as level 42 resto druid. The shamans are levels 44 and 45, so they were orange to me half the time. This quest really ought to be level 45. Furthermore, they heal themselves for around 60% of their total health, and generally will do this three times before they run out of mana. Going to be pretty obnoxious for any class without spell interrupts. If you're one of those classes I recommend waiting until a higher level to do this one.

UPDATE: Just did the math, assuming these guys get off all three heals, which they likely will if you can't interrupt, you're basically going to be fighting something with around 4,760 to 5,040 HP. Have fun with that.

I found it easy to kill the shamans as being one myself. I used earth shock when they would cast they're healing wave and it would get cancelled.

the shamans are located near the big temple to the south. They have the blue lightning shield orbs around them.

the reason theres no shamans is because people come into the area and only kill the shamans, leaving all of the battlemasters and mage-lords around. The problem is, for every shaman thats killed the respawn could be one of the three, so eventually all thats left are the magelords and battlemasters ><

Just completed with my lvl 45 Rogue and it was pretty straightforward.

Ok, it's like this:

There are two camps one in the NW of high wilderness and one in the south. NW camp has brutes and some warlocks. South camp has Shaman and a coupla warlocks.

Never died once, but had to use a potion twice. Brutes are easy enough. Warlocks are fine cos I could just ambush and they'd be 70% dead, then a kick to stop spell casting, by now I had 2-3 combo points so a quick eviscerate and they were dead as doornails... Never lost 1 health point to a warlock, I took 0% damage from all 8 :)

Shaman are awkward cos they cast a health regen spell when they are about 20% health. Rack up a couple of combo points and kidney shot them when their health gets near to that level. When stunlocked in this way they cannot cast their healing spell... They can't do anything but die :))

Just watch out for roaming mobs. Some of these guys roam all over the place, they can surprise you a coupla times and you can end up getting aggro from mages ^ warlocks in the distance which hurts BIG after 5-10 seconds or so.

Ruins start from the road at 60,53 for Warlocks and Brutes.

Another good location is 57,65...inlcudes a few shammys there.

This is a great quest if you want to grind but frustrating if you just want to finish a quest.

Looking for SHAMEN took FOREVER to find compared to the brutes and warlocks.

I have ran around to all these coordinates and found maybe 1 shaman there. SO like i said,,,,,,,do you feel like grinding?

You can find the Brutes at the first "e" in the word wilderness on the map.

NO PROBLEM! Plenty of warlocks and shamans mixed in with maulers, warlords, and battle masters at the main part of the ruins. But no brutes. The brutes I found further north, towards the road - AWAY from the ruins - they were mixed in with warlocks, shamans and maulers. They are far enough away so as to not be seen when you are standing at the edge of the ruins. If you are standing with your back towards the ruins - run towards the road. You should be able to stumble into them. As a 49 Rogue I killed the whole quest in <30 minutes.

When I originally cleared the field out at 60,65 it was all Warlocks for casters. After they respawned they turned into all shamans.

Brutes are above the icon for the ruins on your map, i dont know why but they are nowhere near the shamans.

I am so amused to see people talking about too many shamans and not enough brutes. All I could find were brutes, warlocks, Battlemasters, Mage-Lords, tinkers, tailors, soldiers, spies, Indian chiefs, artificial insemination donors and, oh yes...one shaman.

Of course he was buried among a bunch of uglies that my 42 Druid couldn't fight, and they were so close together it looked like an unnatural relationship. I managed to carefully stealth through them, kill a few warlocks and finally got to the one shaman. Killed him. Waited for the respawn. Only took 7 minutes. Killed him again. 7 minutes (or so) again. Killed him a third time. So bored. : ( 10 minutes. He respawned as another warlock! Great. I stoned out.

Went back later. This time I couldn't find a single shaman. I snuck into the temple (where I found 4 of them on a previous character) but not a single one there except for a few big nasties that saw through my stealth and of course they have Blizzard's favorite invention, DAZE. Just love it.

I can't imagine that it's a glitch but I can't think of what other reason there could be. Might have to put this one on the shelf. If you go to the ruins and don't see any shamans at all, be prepared.

i had to farm shamans at the bonfire at 62.73 for about 40 min. i like how when the mob runs they "evade" when we run we daze.

k so basically you go to the feathermoon stronghold then catch a boat to the other part of feralas, go onto the road and go right and go to where you seen on ur map the mountain then the gap then another mountain and in that gap you have the people you gotta kill , very easy solod as a 42 assasination rogue.

Confirmed many of previous posts:

Warlocks and Brutes are at (60,67), which is just off main path going E/W.

Shamans are at (59,66) in clusters with other lvl 45 Gordunni's.

Easily soloable. Most ever aggroed was 2, and really it was at the end of each 1st fight that #2 got brought in.

is there an easier way to kill the shamans? i am a 41 druid feral spec and they keep killing me. they use to respawn at level 43 but now they are respawning at 45. any suggestions?

If you are having trouble finding Shamans, there is a cave that has a few, entrance is at 61, 69.

Thought I was gonna have trouble with the shamen but found them at 59:65. They do tend to hang around with others but was surprised that they were easily pulled with no mobs. Easy to solo as 46 Druid.

i tried to do this at 40, not a good idea(40 arms warrior) i tried to kill the brutes and locks but almost every time they got me down to about 20% health. then i said skrew it, im gonna go try again as a 41, should be a little better.

I stood at 59,67 and just turned and waited and Shamans were all in that area in the valley. You need to be patient and let them respawn...Good Hunting

The location 57,66 ( using Cosmos )was a perfect spot for the shamans. We pulled all eight out of there in a matter of 15 minutes. Hope this helps.

The Brutes are located at 60,58, along with some of the other Ogres.
The rest, in large numbers, are located at 59,67.

I completed this at level 47, when it had just turned green. I got an "increase" in my Darnassus reputation plus 3750 XP.

About 61,73 in the lower right hand corner was a good spot for me to get Shamans.

If you go to the south end of the temple there are only frayfeathers and shamans. Coords are 57,74 it is super easy to get single pulls and if you take out the birds first you can almost gurantee no add. There are only 3-4 shaman back there and by the time you kill all the birds to get to the shaman and then kill the shaman you only have a short wait for the respawn. As for the warlocks and brutes follow the other posts they are accurate.

The Ogre Warlocks and Brutes are located just off the road and a little east of where you find the yetis. The Ogre Shaman are further along the mountains and tend to be mixed in with the Warmongers and Mage-lords. You can find them outside the temple on the grounds as well as up inside.

The Warlocks and Brutes are mostly single-pulls, with a couple of pairs. Outside the temple, many ogres are wanderers; you can do single pulls, but you have to patient to get the walking patterns down. Inside the temple, it tends to be mostly single-pulls, with a couple of pairs. As such, it's not hard to solo if you're cautious or can handle an add. With a partner, it's pretty fast.

The Shamans spawn around 60, 67. They seem to share spawn location with Warlocks and Mage-Lords, so keep killing them and Shamans will eventually spawn.

The High Wilderness

Angelas Moonbreeze wants you to kill 8 Gordunni Warlocks, 8 Gordunni Shaman, and 8 Gordunni Brutes.

Description

Although it is dangerous, Troyas and I have been investigating the ruins that cover the forests of Feralas.

Lately, though, Troyas has been going on his own to the High Wilderness, and I really worry about him. The Gordunni Ogres have taken over that area, and they don't take kindly to anyone that enters their territory.

I was hoping you might be willing to travel to the ruins to the southeast and clear out some of the ogres. Make it a little safer for my Troyas, and I will be extremely grateful.
