A small, useless infopack which I decided to create out of simple boredom.

First off, lets try to find out what their loot is useful for, what is supposed to be vendored and whats something you might have a reason to preserve for a later occasion. Ofcourse this "list" wont be including grey quality items.

Spider Ichor
- Spider Ichor is generally treated as vendor trash for the horde-faction. Only thing you can do with it is either vendor it, or find someone who wants to use it (which is not an option, as no one has the recipe)

- Why is the recipe which uses Spider Ichor so difficult to obtain? Well, for the horde its very hard to get your hands in to, because of the fact that it is a questreward/alliance vendor in Stormwind. You can only obtain it via a neutral auction house (Booty Bay, Gadgetzan...) and it most likely isn't there - and if it was, propably only the "true collectors" would buy it. Its not wise to use the recipe for leveling cooking because of the amount of ingredients required. (P.S. hunters can't feed it to pets)

Crisp Spider Meat
- Crisp Spider Meat is generally streated as vendor trash for the horde-faction. Unlike Spider Ichor you CAN use this without obtaining an extremely hard-to-get recipe for cooking. A hunter can feed it (Diet: Meat) to its pets, most pets eat it. This item won't sell at all, because the other reagent required for the rarely obtained recipe (rarely obtained for the horde, ofcourse) is... the infamous... Tough Condor Meat.

- Recipe is obtained only by the alliance, and sold to the horde through a neutral auction house.

Crunchy Spider Leg
- Crunchy Spider Legs are not completely useless for the horde, whereas the Ichor and spider meat I consider being. They stack to 10, and depending from your realm you can get 1-3 gold per stack - its useful for leveling cooking from 60 to ~120 (or more). The spider legs can also be fed to a hunters pet uncooked, or cooked if you want to go through the trouble. Recipe sold in Ghostlands for only 4 silvers without reputation discounts.

- Alliance may obtain the recipe, too, from Bloodmyst Isle. A draenei vendor sells them for the same price as the horde vendor located in Ghostlands. 4 silvers without reputation discounts.

Gooey Spider Leg
- Gooey Spider Legs are generally treated as vendor trash for the horde, because the recipe that requires these gooey legs is only obtained through an alliance-quest - or the same Stormwind vendor that sells many other quest-reward recipes obtained by alliance.

- Vendor them OR feed to your pet. Most likely will not be sold in the auction house for a higher price than the vendor offers. A stack of 10 sells for 1s 20c. Better than nothing, I assume.

(lower droprate white quality items; Spider's Silk - not vendortrash, Large Venom Sac - vendor it, but you might find someone who wants it, used for a rare and useless first aid-book)

Alright, that was alot of work, but since I already started I'll keep going. Next up, their abilities. As spiders you'd assume them to use Poison-abilities, but these guys weirdly enough do not use poison.

The one spell used by these guys is the annoying Web, its classified as a physical ability, so it will be dodged/missed but not parried, as it is not a damage-dealing attack. Using the spell will cause you to get debuffed with Net Guard.

A mage can use Blink to escape the Web, but theres a big chance that you'll get Webbed right again after your magnificent escaping act. A Free Action Potion might keep you out of trouble for a moment, but in my opinion its not worth it - they don't hit hard at all so they're not a problem. Either take the beating and leave when you can, or kill that beast! Although if you're getting boosted as a low level through Blackfathom Deeps and you're running through these guys, expect to die and resurrect in a graveyard for the most successive way of passing them, you'll be stuck on these guys for the rest of the day if you don't do it.

The highest level spiders that share the model with this one: Gretheer (57), a rare spawn in Silithus, and Blackfang Tarantulas located inside The Black Morass.

Tameable, but a weak choice. Ranging from level 20 to 21 - does NOT learn the Web-ability when taming, so if you want it for pvp, don't try it. If you're high level enough, tame a Chimaera with Exotic Pets-talent.

I'm surprised these things have a lot of loot. Almost every time I kill them they don't drop much except for spider ichor and such, though tonight I just got two things from them, I got the grunts leggaruds of strength, and the Militant shortsword of the tiger. Not the sword that I wanted, but I'm still hunting them anyways..
