This is the best possible scope for level 19 twinks. It can be applied via the trade window and requires a ranged weapon with item (not use) level 20 or higher.

You cant learn it from the trainer but you can get the plans from Mazk Snipeshot in STV

In order to make it, you have to be level 20 as well, as the requirement is 180 engineering to read the pattern (and to get above 150, you need to be level 20). Thus you can't make it yourself and have someone apply it for you, you have to either buy one or have one made for you (or make it on a higher level engineer) first.

This item is needed for the quest https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/quest=3641 (A) / https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/quest=3643 (H). As most engineers are not leveling engineering in Stranglethorn Vale this and the recipe (https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=13310) can go for very high prices on AH.

This cannot be attached to the Venomstrike bow (or any other BoP item) if you are 19th level. You need to be 20th level to apply it. And the Venomstrike Binds on Pickup. Third parties can also not attach it, as the item binds when the scope is applied.

You only choice is the standard scope: https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=4406 with the venomstrike.

I have all ingredients needed for this item and I also have high enough skill, but I do not have a Gyromatic Micro-Adjustor nor do I have a recipe for it. Where do I get this?

just +3, like most damage enhancers in the game, it wont enhance DPS, just actualy damage.

+3 Damage on a gun with speed 2.00 = +1.5 dps.
Which is nice. I always run to IF to get a new scope everytime i get a new gun.

When it says 'requires level 20', does this mean that it can only be applied to weapons that require level 20 or above? Or does it apply to weapon level, which is frequently higher than the level rwquired?

In 1.12, Blizzard stealth nerfed it so I couldnt put a +7scope on my Lvl6 twink gun...

Has anyone tried to apply this scope to a lowbie weapon since that patch? (with a high level doing the application still)

Yes I'm pretty sure that you put the item in the will not be traded box, give someone else the scope and have them apply it.

All scopes can only be equipped on an ranged weapon that meets the level requirement.

So if your scope says "requires level 40" then your weapon must be a level 40 item (which means any weapon that requires level 35+ to equip, since items are generall 5 levels higher than their equip requirements) and so on...

As of Febuary 13, 08, and maybe much earlier, you cannot attach this scope to venomstrike, I tried the trade window from a 20+ character, no joy!

now for someone to post their homework, if peashooter +3 dmg or venomstrike +2 dmg is better?

update: was reading the following, although it may be outdated:

"*NOTE* Although Accurate scope requires level 20 to apply to your ranged weapon, you're ranged weapon will meet the minimum level requirement of your ranged weapon, although a ranged weapon like Venomstrike requires level 19 to equip, it's actual item level is higher, meaning the scope can be attached to the bow, but you can't do it, but someone level 20 or above can attach it for you in a Will Not Be Traded slot in the trade window, incase there's any doubts of whether or not this can be done, it's a yes, I have it on my Venomstrike."

Confirmed and fully tested as of today, and probably from awhile back.

quick faqs:

You do not need to be an engineer to attach a scope.
You cannot attach a scope thru the do not trade window.
You can over-ride a scope attachment with another of the same/better/worse quality.

This has been fully tested personally, cos I cant get +3 on my Venomstrike for my twink hunter....

This a bug or nerf...?

either way it sucks...

Hopefully this saves people a bunch of time when reading outdated guides.

Its been me, making the last couple posts, anyhow. It does work, the missing ingredient with all my testing was not using an engineer 20+ to attach it. What thew me off, is I used a non-engineer to attach +1 and +2 scopes, so when I used a lv60 to attach it (non-engineer) it wouldn't work. I just asked in trade for a 225+ Engineer, cos they gotta be atleast lv20 for that.

Credit to Juicie for letting me know it wasn't nerfed.

ok i've attempted to load a +12 scope to my 29 twink hunter with my lvl 70 warrior doing the application and it does NOT work just says item it too low lvl for application which is lame thx Blizzard

100% confirmed, I tried this today. (April 15, 2008)

Picked this scope (+3 dmg) up on my friends' lvl 70 toon (whom is a 375 Engineer) and applied it onto my 19 Twink Rogue's Outrunner's Bow via Trade Window. Just put the bow in "Will Not Be Traded" and have a lvl 20+ apply it.

For any engineers out there, esp if you're level 30-40, making and selling this item on the AH is a great way to make extra $. I can normally get the mats on the AH for around 3G, so I put the starting bid at 4G and buyout at 8G. 9 times out of ten, someone buys it within a couple of hours. Easy money, and doing this once a day will put you well on your way to having enough for that first mount.

I just got my venomstrike for my twink hunter, and bought the scope tosay, what I did was I found a friend, traded them the scope and then traded the bow in the do not trade box, they attached the scope and it works Venomstrike with a +3 damage scope

How do you get this scope on Venomstrike? Ive seen people with it on it but im too low of a level (19 twink) to put it on and it cant be put on throught the trade window.

Somebody tried to charge me 2g minus mats which at AH i found to equal about 5g which is ridiculous i think i mean jade went for 2g and some change and the others were 1g++ so..I just decided not to pay 7g for one more dmg point.
