one of my favorite glyphs simply because it makes the flame shock chain lightning rotation valid in a lot of encounters since you can now stay at maximum range.

*edit* this post was made before they changed it, originally it increased the range of flame shock by 10 yards, bringing it up to 30 yards (equal to LB, LC and LvB)

I would like to note that you CANNOT stack several glyphs of the same type to increase the effect. Upon attempting to inscribe a duplicate Glyph at the Lexicon of Power you recieve the message:

"That Glyph is already inscribed in your spellbook."

Does this glyph only prolong the duration of the Flame Shock DoT, or does it increase the total damage done?

If this glyph increases the duration of flameshock by 6 seconds that would bring it up to 18 second duration on flameshock.. this should give us enough time to pop 2 lava bursts and be 1 second away from getting in another one :( wtb another 1-2 seconds more on the flameshock glyph.. ><

assuming we have around 33% haste in a raid

flameshock : 1 second GCD
Lava burst : 1 second cast (2)
Lava burst cooldown : 8 seconds (10)
Lava burst : 1 second cast (11)
Lava burst cooldown : 8 seconds (19)

But what if you were to cast flameshock as soon as its cooldown is up? so you get this:

flameshock : 1 second GCD
Lava burst : 1 second cast (2)
Lava burst cooldown : 8 seconds (10)
Lava burst : 1 second cast (11)
flameshock CD ends/recast (18)
1 second GCD (19)
Lava burst cooldown : 8 seconds (19)

with that cycle you wouldn't be wasting any time.

Even though it's one second off the CD for three LB per flame shock, it's still a major buff. Having LB not consume the DOT means, along with the additional 6 seconds, that you have space for two other shocks in between flame shocks, and you don't have to worry about losing the last tick, or any tick for that matter. I could definitely see a rotation where you recast FS every 18 seconds, and just use Lava Burst whenever the cooldown is up.

So shamans get this with a glyph for their baseline spell Lava Burst, where's the Warlock glyph equivalent for Conflag/Immolate?

Lava Burst will hardly be a baseline spell for shaman (though the low cost is surprising to me). It will most likely never be used until last second of FS DoT. But this glyph will change that. Spamming it every 8 secs freely. Rotation may end up looking like this, for me at least. (for simplicity sake, 0 haste, single target):

Flame Shock-1.5 gcd
Lava Burst-1.5 sec cast
Lightning Bolt-2 sec cast
Lightning Bolt-2 sec cast
Lightning Bolt-2 sec cast
Lava Burst-1.5 sec cast
Lightning Bolt-2 sec cast
Lightning Bolt-2 sec cast
Lightning Bolt-2 sec cast
Flame Shock-1.5 gcd
Lava Burst-2 sec cast

Personally, I rarely use shocks in raids as they cost double the mana and deal less damage while still losing that 1.5 sec gcd, it seems like such a waste especially since now that mana pots can only be used once per fight. If you get Glyph of Earth Shock to lower gcd by 1 sec then fit it in there as it will greatly boost dps.

Due to the possibility to spec in Shamanistic Focus (Reduce the mana cost of shocks by 45%) we dont have a problem with the cost of shocks anymore...
And to max out the little dmg we do compared to other classes since the recent changes i think that keeping FS up constant will do alot...

Tested this.
It doesn't change damage of DOT, it adds 2 more ticks over 6sec with same damage as usual ticks.
If you had ticks of 200 damage every 3sec for 12sec before, you will now have 200 damage ticks every 3sec for 18sec.

So with two extra ticks at Level 9, you get 556/2 = 278 extra (base) damage.

278/1056 =26.325% extra damage over a normal Flame Shock, plus the Lava Burst synergy.

Very nice. Especially for a lower level glyph.

It doesn't change damage of DOT, it adds 2 more ticks over 6sec with same damage as usual ticks.

Not to start a semantics war, but since "DOT" stands for "Damage Over Time", two more ticks would in fact change the damage of the DOT, it just doesn't change the damage of each "tick".

You still need the Flame Shock on the target for 100% crit but the flame wont be removed.

I'd imagine this to stack additively with Elemental Fury (100% increased crit damage), for 160% increased crit damage to FS.

Making a 1k hit crit for 2,3k (1000 + 500*2,6) instead of just 2k seems like a pretty good buff especially with the newest passive buff posted above.
Approximately 1240 haste made my FS tick each 2 sek instead of 3 on the PTR, which really makes the need for 4p set bonus even more attractive.
As it is now, I'd have to refresh FS every 12 sec instead of each 18 sec. Drop your pants now Toravon!
