If you're a mage these Skeletal Runesmiths are insanely easy to AoE grind with an Iceblock, or Blizzard pulling the guys in front of the elite.

bring a friend, mobs in the area have a high respawn rate and pat range and aggro range. unless you can mass AoE them down. couldnt pull more than 3 rows before it repoped
. really good area too to farm for cloth

Here are the mobs that drop resist recipes for Alchemy (mighty protection potion), Enchanting (cloak enchant), and Leatherworking (fur lining):

Damned Apothecary (Frost)
Cult Alchemist (Nature)
Cultist Shard Watcher (Shadow)
Skeletal Runesmith (Fire)

Question about this pattern:

I know the LW and Alch patterns are BoP, but this one is not. Does it only drop if there is an enchanter in the group?

Don't be fooled that it's BoE. Farmed it with my druid (feral tank on swipes) and killed mobs there for 5 hours without resting, didn't drop. So instead I go a friend of mine to farm it - she's enchanter and got it without 15min of killing.

I'm pretty convinced it's enchanter only drop.

I got this farming for my JC daily, Since FR isn't important in anything atm im going to save it for ulduar to come out and hopefully hav a FR fight.

I believe the drop rate for this enchant has been increased, unless I am just a lucky player. I am an enchanter myself, and have had 2 of these drop within 2 days, all when on the quest to kill scourge in Icecrown for the new Argent Tournament quests.
Being a priest, I can AoE these down, and it worked pretty well as I was able to round up half of what I needed, and then kill them down with Holy Nova (even as a shadow priest). I mention this to prove that any class is capable of farming lots in less time. If you are capable of AoE farming, or are in a group to do it, Malykriss: the Vile Hold is a good place (its the "boxed in" area a short distance south of Ymirheim).

I will note, that I had previously done this with a mage, as a duo AoE grind to complete the quest. The mage was not an enchanter, and had automatically passed on the formula. When I asked why, he noted that he couldnt see - So I can confirm that it is currently enchanter only, and only drops off the Skeletal Runesmith as mentioned.

All the Enchant Cloak - Superior Nnnnn resistance recipees seem to have a peculiar drop pattern, watch out if you want to farm them for reselling:

1: They will only drop to enchanters even though they are not BOP and can be sold on AH (for quite good money).
2: They will not drop for you when you have learned the enchant (i have looted +thousand Damned Aphotecaries and Cult Alchemists levelling pets and i got nature and frost resitance in about the first hundred, none after i learned it 1). The same may apply if you have in inventory
3 : Drop rate is about 1% (or chance to drop is 1:100, hope for lady luck but be prepared for the worst).Never tried Frostbrood though, probably better drop rate but worse to grind.
