Empoor Travels the road from Shattrath to Tuurem with his bodyguard. They will attack you once questioned, but you only need to take him to about 60% before he becomes friendly again. He'll then send you into Shattrath.

Just did this one. You can ignore the bodygaurd, they will both turn friendly again after you take Empoor down to %1. As a mage I just Frost Nova'd both and made quick work of Empoor. Any class with some form of CC should have no problem at all doing this one.

I had to fight him, but the fight was really easy. After you fight him he will have a yellow question mark above his head for you to complete the quest.

He seems to provide the continuation of the quest for a small while after he is defeated by anyone, when I approached him I did not have to fight and he had the yellow exclamation over his head.

This quest might be dependent on your reputation with certain factions. I didn't have to fight him at all. I went up, talked to him, and he told me to go find the Wind Trader. My reps were at friendly with the Lower City, the Sha'tar, and Scryers. Hostile with Aldor. Neutral with Kurenai.

well I don't know what happened but all of you said not to worry about the guard. Well after he got friendly and as I was talking to him, the guard started hitting me... killed him. when the guard re spawned the empoor said he was leaving and left

alliance lvl 63 pally had to fight him down to 1%. bodyguard stopped once he was 1%.

As a 64 rogue I easily killed Empoor, I even killed his bodyguard for the fun of it.

He does have a question mark above his head. If he's down on health because he just finished fighting someone else (as in my case), you don't have to fight. Handy trick.

Very easy.
As a priest...
1.) Physic Scream (the bodyguard will flee while the empoor doesn't)
2.) Fight the empoor as a regular hostile NPC
3.) Talk to him and you're done!

Apparently, at a certain level, you do not have to fight him. I decided to do a bunch of green quests with my 68 warrior; this was one of them. He immediately showed up as a quest turn-in guy. No talking necessary. Alternatively, someone else had already fought him, recently. But I had been within sight of him for a while and hadn't seen anyone in combat with him. Or really anyone around.

Empoor travels with his body guard up and down the rode where the Tauren is. He is very easy.Just kill him not his body guard. Because once you get him, your done the quest.

Seems that if you're mounted, he just hands you the next part of the quest without even getting agitated. With my lvl 64 druid I didn't even have to talk in big letters to get it out of him. Had the same experience with my paladin not too long ago around the same level.

The above post is correct. If you're mounted, you simply have to talk to him to complete the quest. No fighting needed.

if you concentrate DPS on Emp and don't draw aggro from the guard, when Emp deaggros the guard should as well.

just ignore the bodyguard.. when you get empoor to like 10% he stops attacking and then you're able to talk to him for the quest.. easy as pie (I could do it mounted)

Maybe it was bugged before, and he wouldn't attack you in front of the quest giver, however, he most certainly attacked me. If he has his bodyguard, expect a fight. It's not all that tough, though.

Don't worry about the bodyguard at all. Just get empoor down to low life, then he and the bodyguard will submit to you.

40,25 is confirmed hunters track huminoids he walks up and down road has bodyguard , ya fight both ,win he gives up the info , Sends ya to shattrath after that, Thanks to an alliance member passing by he came to the rescue I was going down! "FOR THE ALLIANCE"

I followed Empoor once for about 20 min, and several times after that. Here's the path he takes:

1) I found him just outside Cenarion Thicket as he was heading East.
2) He continued down this road to the edge of Tuurem, turned around and headed back.
3) As he was nearing Shat, he takes the left fork going up.
4) At the T shortly after, he turns either right or left.
4a) If right (North) he goes to the northernmost entrance to Lower City
4b) If left (South) he goes to the southernmost entrance to Lower City
5) When at the entrance to either of these tunnels, he turns around.
6) He returns to the path just outside Shat.
7) He turns back down the road toward Cenarion Thicket.

Note: Flying between Allerian Stronghold and Shattrath City (either direction) will pass over the length of the road from Tuurem to Shat, making it easy to see if he's there.

Took about, a minute to find him, waited by the crossroads outside Shattrath.

Easy peasy 64 Combat Rogue. Didn't have much else to kill so I pooped every cooldown I had....went down in about, 4 seconds.

i saw him walking east of 40,25 after walking back and forth on the road for 10 minutes.

Part of the reason people have trouble finding him is that while he ends this part of the quest chain, he doesn't have a yellow dot on the mini-map until after you find, talk to and defeat him. So, don't look for a dot.

After turning in "Clues in the Thicket", this quest was not available. I had to also complete the other initial quest from this questgiver, "Strange Energy", in order to acquire this quest.

Well, I quickly knocked Empoor down to low health so the fight was out of him, but the bodyguard kept on fighting until I killed him.
I could then talk to Empoor.

Well, I ended up interrupted right then, so my dialog with Empoor timed out.

I started again, and when Empoor was 15% health, I hit him again, and then the bodyguard stopped hitting me (with a Q-tip I think it was).

To complete this quest you need to find and convince Empoor to tell you what he knows.

Okay, Empoor and his bodyguard roam along the road from Shattrath to the east of Terokkar forest. You don't have to kill them to complete the quest, just beat a little.
So, that means you don't need to wait for respawn, just follow the road that passes by The Cenarion Thicket to the west and then back to the east if you didn't locate Empoor.

Sometimes in TBC Classic you may not be able to find Empoor as he has despawned even though he should continuously patrol, and not be killed by any players either. If this happens try to jump to a different layer as they do not seem to be linked with regards to this bug.

FWIW, with Empoor getting beaten up by everyone, I've always thought Blizz should've done a followup quest to this one, given their love of movie references.

"The Empoor Strikes Back" or something along that line.

I don't know what to make of all of this, but I do know how we can find more clues.

Empoor is a Broken merchant that traffics in all sorts of goods and information. If you were to persuade him to talk, I'm sure he might have something interesting to say.

He travels the road here between Tuurem and Shattrath. Watch out, though -- he travels with a bodyguard.
