Diluting a cauldron will spawn Blightguards who can see through your disguise.

If you use the teleporter as a pinpoint there are 3 cauldrons on the east side close together with some trolls and abominations near by, 1 to the south east and another to the southwest beside the wall.

The blightguards spawn only when you finish throwing it in, as in the animation has finished with the object. You can throw it in, and run out fairly quick.

What is the point, of wasting our time with speculation as to what the blizz developers may or may not be referring to in their clever quest names, npc names, or npc dialog.... why not add something helpful? Anywho... above coords are correct, and yes you can outrun the alarmed blightguards before they spawn... thanks for the helpful info!

This is easy with a flying mount.

Land near cauldron, throw in Diluting Additive.

As soon as you let go, get back on mount.

I did five and didn't fight one Blightguard

To get the chain you have to get Unliving Choker that got a 100% from Withered trolls.
** Wowhead say 9%, but its wrong because it only drops if you havent done the quest**

Not for hunters, you can Feign Death without breaking your disguise when you get attacked by a blightguard. Don't know if this'll work with vanish or shadowmeld.

The quest item is bugged, so if you abandon any of the quest's you need Stefan's Horn for you will have to go to Ebon Watch in order to turn it in, or talk to him if someone else have called for him.

--Do yourself a huge favor, do not turn in this quest until you are finished in the area! You can continue to use the disguise in zul drak and run past scourged mobs with ease. Some mobs don't care about the disguise, but you'd have to fight them anyways.
--This diguise makes reaching Malas the Corrupter very easy. You can walk right up to him, take off disguise and attack.
--There are some quests the Scourge will give you while disguised as well.
--Wish it worked everywhere, I'd never turn in the quest!

Just to make it clear once you've finished both parts of this quest go outside and summon Stefan Vadu using the horn in your bag to hand it in.

This is the most annoying quest I've done in a couple years w/ this game. It's a wonder my monitor is still intact, lol.

1. In disguise, teleport up and get the quest from Drakaru
2. Teleport down using the lower green teleport
3. Still in disguise, run just down the ramp to the yellow murky pool all around the platform. Avoid blightguards which will see through your diguise and aggro. Target a geist and use the sceptre.
4 A little one-icon pet bar should pop up with a crystal on it. If not, hit Ctrl 1 If it still doesn't pop up it may be an add-on problem. Log and try again, then disable and try.
5. Walk over close to one of the crystals in the pond and hit the pet crystal-icon. Your pet geist will gather the crystal and run away up the ramp. The gather will not register until he has teleported up to his master.
6. Repeat.
7. The plague wagons around the perimeter of the area beyond the yellow pool mostly have cauldrons on them. Click on the diluting additive near a wagon or cauldron and run away. Repeat.
8. Teleport up and hand in to Drakaru, then back down to Stefan in Ebon Hold

This area is a nightmare for rogues and cat druids.

If you try to stealth anywhere in the area, blightgaurds will spawn and attack you :(

Stefan at Ebon Watch wants you to return to Drakuru and complete any tasks he has for you.

While at the Reliquary of Pain, you are to use the Diluting Additive on 5 Blight Cauldrons.

If you lose your Ensorcelled Choker, return to Stefan at Ebon Watch to get another.
