No need to go to 54,13 they drop from apexis flayers right next to him.

I don't know if they removed this drop from the mobs in the area....but i've been killing them for like 20mins and didn't get a single 1...only got them from Apexis Shards Formations...

EDIT: after about 25mins of killing mobs i finaly got 1 from an Apexis Flayer....they drop rate is definately not 33% it's way much worse : /

Guys, try farming the apexis shards at bash'ir's landing. I got about 7 from the ethereals in 5 minutes.

I got 5 drops from the Apexis Flayers near Ogri'la in a very short period of time.

Can anybody tell me HOW you mine them out of the ground? I don't see anything twinkling or lighting up to tell me where to dig... and even if I did find a spot I don't know what I have to do to actually mine it! And I'm a miner by profession!

EDIT: I finally figured it out. What threw me off was that Chu'a'lor specifically said, "In addition to the creatures here having them, they can sometimes be found where the flayers dig at the larger crystals." (Emphasis added.)

So I ran around looking for the biggest honkin' crystals I could find. My mistake. I wasn't supposed to be looking at the big ones. The mineable ones are mostly man-sized with 2 or 3 smaller ones clustered around the base. These in turn are found either at the base of the really big clusters or occasionally out in the open. To further complicate things, the mineables can also be found as a cluster of 4 or 5 gnome-sized crystals. (See screenshots.)

Once I had this dialed in it was a lot easier to mouse over the bigger clusters and find the mineables. Too bad I didn't figure it out until I was almost done grinding out the 55 I wanted (5 for the quest, 50 for a pair of gloves I got off the AH).

found a place where you can dig up a shard at (33.1,56.9) in Blade's Edge.. I couldn't find a way up there on foot so used flying mount.

how do you even get the quest? he doesnt say anything to me. Do I need to do something special to start the quest?

Oh the pain, very easy quest its just well you will need a ton of these crystals for the quests to come.

The Crystals drop of every creature in this area you, only need 5 for this quest, but many more for the ones, to come.

These Crystals are currency. Good Luck

Descrizione

When prepared correctly, the crystals of the mountains exhibit strange powers, such as the clarity of mind that we have found here in Ogri'la.

All of the creatures atop the mountains covet the crystal shards and use them to further their own goals. An economy has even sprung up around them.

To assist us, you must first learn about the Apexis shards. Bring me some. In addition to the creatures here having them, they can sometimes be found where the flayers dig at the larger crystals.
