I found out the hard way that you shouldnt try to mount directly infront of Ruusk and his guards while wearing the disguise... It breaks the disguise and you get trounced by all three of them immediately. Ruusk hits a clothie like me for 3.5k or so. oops.

The Cipher of Damnation is an extremely long quest line in Shadowmoon Valley. It is a prerequisite for attunement to The Eye in Tempest Keep and Mount Hyjal in Caverns of time.

After completing the quest, you will get a message in the mail from Khadgar. If you go to Shattrath, he will tell you to talk to A'Dal, who unlocks the the three Trials. These are prerequisites for attunement to The Eye in Tempest Keep and Mount Hyjal in Caverns of time.

Landed around 47, 73 - in hills behind... (just south of Ruusk)... pulled and killed the two patrolling dragonhawks, put on disguise and sauntered in... easy money.

Yeah ... best bet? Don't cast, or use abilities, at all. I just rebuffed my Fel Armour and the costume dropped. Good news is, however, Borak will gladly give you another costume if you talk to him again.

I thought it would be cool to just kinda para-trooper in. So I dismounted above him, put on the disguise mid-air, took fall damage, and the disguise was wiped. I got owned. :(

Oh yeah! Good point ... the finished costume that you get after turning in the 6 collected costume pieces is one of those wonderful items that have a limited duration before they go poof.

The costume will only sit in your inventory (while actually logged in and playing that toon) for 2 hours. But, as said before, you can simply talk to the NPC again to get another costume.

Funny thing, if you see an ally/horde talking to Ruusk, shoot a gun or wand him, that makes him loose his disguise.

Tried this today, the ally got owned, made my day. :P

I think we cal all agree; when you're in disguise, don't do a thing :P Clear your way in, kill some hawks, put on the disguise, and try not to breathe too hard.

Just did this at 70, landed on "wall" just outside base, no aggro of course, while still mounted, used disguise but it didn't dismount me, so flew over to the guy, talked him while still mounted and flying then flew off again, not sure if I got lucky, but was nice and simple.

Watch for the birds around the guy. If they hit you while disguised, you will un-disguise.

Lorim is correct, you can disguise while flying as soon as you are within Eclipse Point. Then, it's just a matter of landing in front of the boss, a quick chat and then fly off!

Do not dismount.

Blood Elf Disguise has a two hour duration so you'll have to pick up another one from Borak if you log out and try to do the quest later.

43,69 so simple ride your mount to that loc , enter from the side I killed one dragonhawk , walked in , diguised walked right to him done! :-)
I was 68 so no flyer, but if you do have a flyer just fly same loc. I rode there didnt get dismounted so al the agro retreated .

When you are done speaking with him, by all means do not just turn around and mount up. Mounting up will break your disguise. And let's just put it this way, three elites don't need to hit you alot to get what they want.

Easy Quest, Just change into your disguise in a safe area, Dont cast or do anything and just walk up to him and tell him the message. (Emotes are fine to use)

This is very easy go to 46,72 thats behind Grand Commander Ruusk kill the dragon first. then put on disguise and talk to Ruusk...very easy....70 Pally

Once you have put on the disguise, don't leave Eclipse Point or you will lose the disguise and you will have to go get another from Borak.

After you complete the quest, DON'T MOUNT UP! The disguise fades when you mount and you will probably die. Get away from Ruusk first before mounting! LOL.

For those of us that are 70 / flight form / flying mount users fly to the steps right in front of the platform, land and put on your costume, you SHOULD be able to do so without agroing, if not face ruusk and from the top of the stairs fly to your left over behind the 'tents' and put your costume on.

for those of you hoofing it, same basic idea but you can run in from the 'gate' with it on, no real issue there.

Mental note : ANY damage will cancel the disguise.

I flew up on the roof of his seat, and dropped down, took some damage, lost the disguise, and got STOMPED ON by the guards.

...Levitate also cancels the disguise.

landing on the ledge as suggested caused nothing but trouble for me as mounting/dismounting can cancel the costume. i found it much easier to dismount in front of him but out of his aggro range of course, at 46.3, 70.8 and then run straight up and talk to him. retreat to the same coords and mount up.

This quest can also be done at the same time: The Rod of Lianthe sure that you get the key before using the disguise and talk to Ruusk before looting the chest. Opening it will break the disguise, then port/hearth out.

The dragonhawks are very easy to avoid, I just put on the disguise down at the main road and walked all the way up to Ruusk. No aggro at all, very easy.

Lots of comments about not mounting up after the quest.
However, there seem to have been some changes...

I did move away before trying to mount.
But the game told me I cannot mount with that disguise.
No worries, I thought, I'll cancel the disguise aura, and then mount.
Aura successfully cancelled, but the game still refused to allow me to mount. 🤦‍♂️
Now all the elves are enemies, and I had to fight my way out of the area on foot. 😬

Descrizione

Take this disguise and enter Eclipse Point. Once inside, use the disguise to cloak yourself. The Eclipsion blood elves will be unable to see through the disguise, thereby granting you safe passage to Grand Commander Ruusk.

Once you find Ruusk, tell him where next to move the cipher. You're going to have to act your heart out, <name>. Play it off as if you are his superior, delivering a message from his lord. That should do it!

Oh - watch out for the dragonhawks as they see through the disguise.
