Easyiest way to farm copper if your horde is to just follow the mountain range around in circles, don't bother with trying to find the dots in the middle, a full walk around the mountain range will yield around 40bars of copper

The razor patches, that have the boar people, scattered through barrens also have a lot of copper mines near them. I found the mountain ridges to contain the most copper. I suggest downloading the mod Gatherer which saves the locations of mined nodes, this will help gathering ore in the future.

Along with being easy to farm, copper ore sells very well on the ah. NEVER make the ores into bar (unless you're doing it for skillups). Ores sell much better than bars because higher level players with some gold are too lazy to mine the ore themselves. So, they just go buy ours and make it into bars for skill ups. Both benefit!

Underwater is your friend. In the Oasises (on near WC and one near Ratchet) there is usually one copper node and one tin node. The tin node near ratchet will sometimes spawn silver as well.
At lower level they're great because you can also farm snapjaws and most of the things they drop sell for 1s plus and you can get clam meat which makes a tasty snack.

I've found that a good and rewarding place to farm is just around durotar outside of Orgrimmar, which I think is a lot easier that going to the barrens because, 1. there are higher levels in the Barrens, 2. Durotar has a lot more of it, and 3. if you are a just starting blacksmithing or engineering, it is easier than buying it off the auction house. Why waste 1-2 gold when you can farm it easily right outside and pick up a couple gems up while you are at it? You can go into Skull Rock and farm in there for a while, or you can just farm outside. I've farmed about 100+ copper in less than an hour with my level 11 rogue and, with rested, got a good amount of rested experience. Plus, if you are not going to use the copper, you can sell it in auction house or send it to another character to get his or her skill up.

As a horde, best way to farm copper is to run circles; barrens - durotar. Climb thru the mountain side of both places, I just did and I have 120 copper atm.

For Alliance, the best place would be Dun Morogh by a long shot. Particularly in the quarry Southeast of Ironforge.

The best place I have found for copper is Silverpine Forest in and around a cave that is full of 12-15ish spiders, The cave itself has about 3 veins and the surrounding hills usually has a decent amount too, everytime i go there i end up with about 40 copper ore in just under 10 min. Its definately worth checking out if you dont have a mount to run all over the barrens.

A really good place to get this (for horde) is in Eversong woods its all over and even better if you have mount ive seen them all over the place.

I have to say that the best farming for copper I've had so far for the Alliance was in Bloodmyst/Azuremyst isles. In just under an hour of farming I picked up 160 copper ore. And a few pieces of tin.

I've only mined it in Dun Morogh, but I can't imagine its much better anywhere else. I got 100 ore by doing a pretty quick run- start at IF, run around the northern range, till you get down to 24/52, then run through the range in the middle, then head over to the quarry (TONS there). Pretty easy way to make like 10g.

i dont know about the horde side but on the alliance side copper is over stocked in dun morough. my gnome engineering is already at 120 just by using the copper there and hes only at lvl 10. azuremyst isle also is good. there is a naga cave there with 3-4 veins that respawned for min very quickly. just mine the cave dry then head to odyseuss landing and back and the veins will have already respawned. used that place for my mining and also to farm so i could buy my mount.

I found a lot of Copper Veins in Elwynn.
So if you play as Alliance this is a smart route to take ( http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/4245/copperoretl8.png ). You may want to check the Fargodeep Mine aswell.
If you have a mount, you will be done in no time.

I must edit myself here. The Gol'Bolar Quarry in Dun Morogh is a much beter place to farm copper.

I got over 200 ore in an hour this way:

Go to Sludge Fen (It's in the Barrens) And from there go to Northwatch Hold. From there, curve around Wailing Caverns to Dreadmist Peak (It's the mountain northwest from Crossroads) and then back to Sludge Fen. Rinse and repeat. Just mine every node in the path and you'll get 150 ore in an hour easily.

I believe the Copper Vein maps need to be updated. I just found over 15 veins in the upper half of Durotar, yet the map only shows that there are 12 veins in Durotar total.

I suggest downloading the latest version of the Gatherer addon, and then download the www.wowhead.com/wotlk database for ores/herbs/treasures. Works like wonders. You can find both the addon and the database at http://www.gathereraddon.com/dl/ You install both of them as a normal addon. Then u open up WoW and check at the "addon" button that they are working. Then you enter one of your characters and press the gatherer button at your minimap (right-click) then you press config. Then just bove the "HUD" tab you press the "Database tab" and import the data. Also, bars can actually sell for a bit, some people want the prof-only items from several things, like people who want the master hammersmith stuff and engineering stuff at the same time, so they dont have room for mining and buy all the mats off the AH. try sell for 1.5g if u can.

I have seen bars sell for more than ores, but sometimes you can't tell if the ones that are being sold for the normal price have been bought already. So I usually sell a stack of copper ore for about 1g and a stack of bar for about 2 (usually the prices on my server, Alterac Mountains). then I see if the bars sell. Just to make sure that the prices are right, and it checks for both ore and bars.

omg now in patch 3.0.3 loch modan is by far the best to mine coper bars... under the influence that u have a mount or a speed buff... some kinda breathing potion or buff and a good lvl to avoid threshers... u shlould rake in about 20-40 copper ore within 20 mins (most veins are found underater or near hte caves and dam)!

Personally, when i farm copper i can just run around the mountin north of Northwatch Hold and find about 5 nodes in about 10 minutes i had 50ish copper

I've always found Mulgore to be a good copper farming area...there may not be as many nodes as in the barrens, but they're MUCH closer together. Two trips through the mine in the southeast and copper was already gray.

Was gathering copper and tin ore yesterday for levelling up JC, and thought I could share my experience.

I started with Durotar, making a nearly full lap around the zone (including a visit in the thunder lizard ravine and skull rock east of Org), and finishing with a run through the middle parts. I did this with a level 30 mount. The run took about 45 minutes. I ended up with 112 copper ore and 80 rough stone + some Malachite, Tigerseye and Shadowgem.

Then I went to 1k Needles, mostly for Tin. I did laps around the zone, cutting the middle too. A full search through the zone took about 45 minutes aswell, during that time I got around 60 copper ore, 30 tin ore, 25 iron ore. Meaning you still get a descent amount of copper even if farming for tin.

Even though Dun Morogh got more nodes i find leveling mining is way faster in elwynn.
Just know where they are and you find them all the time while questing.

Following the "hills" at the middle of the zone while you're questing is a good idea if you want nodes.

Mulgore though some what low on the list for vein Spawns is incredible for mining for quantity the ore spawns almost 100% on the edge of the area allowing you to do circuits around the area with non need for back tracking. There are two caves with 3-5 veins often in them they take a good deal of time to run in and get though (time=ore). when compared to the barrens i found it still much more productive being a constant circuit and requiring relatively low navigation. At last most people will require tin-bronze eventually. =\ Good luck mining and may the wind be at your back.

these are the best places for mining Copper: the Fargodeep Mine, and the cliffs south of Goldshire

these places are in the Elwyn forest and they are treasuries of copper veins. by running through the entire mine one can easily obtain a full stack copper ore not only that but by the time you go to Goldshire to smelt it and get back there, all the copper veins have respawned. and the cliffs just to the south of Goldshire also yield a large number of copper veins. in one hour of going along the cliffs and running through the Fargodeep mine, i had well over 60 copper bars. not only is copper very important for low lvl blacksmiths, its also a huge source of money. until i got to lvl 20, selling stacks of copper bars in the AH was near my only source of money, considering a full stack can sell for up to 3 gold.

Look, all the good places you mentioned are very fine but if you want to be close to org and still get alot of copper then go to the place south of org where you will find alot of thunder lizards. both over and inside that kind of "cave" you will almost all the time have a copper node on your minimap

ok you guys all have great locations but the best place of horde is southern barrens.there is a circle in southern barrens that i call the mining circle. it has copper (mainly) and tin and silver (one silver vein) and sevrel tin. this is the best way to farm tin and copper in my consercns. both for leveling mining BS/ENGINERING supplies and plain old farming so hf

It's really bothering me that there are no veins what so ever in Teldrassil... ok, I can understand why, cause it's a giant tree and most trees can't develope any minerals... But anyway it's still annoying.

For those who are worried about getting mining up, don't worry, there is a fair amount of veins in all starting areas, and you will probably have Journeyman mining by level 10.

How often are the maps updated?
I have the wowhead client and I know I've found a couple copper veins at least a week ago, but the wowhead map doesn't show them.

Mining Copper requires 1 skill level, and is the first ore in the Mining Profession.
After level 50, nodes become Green and will rarely level you up.
After level 100 skill, nodes become Gray and you will no longer gain skill level.

While trying to level up my Blacksmithing, I believe the best place for mining copper veins is "The Venture Co. Mine" in east central Mulgore. Assuming you can roam without too much aggro, the place repops nodes continuously.
