Yeah I've yet to see a successful kill of the IF king.And I'll stay next to his throne to prevent from happening lol.

I don't think these'll be awarded retrospectively, which is a shame - I've killed Magni, Bolvar and High Prophet Vaelan, but missed Fandral Staghelm and Mekkatorque. Maybe LBL will go back and I'll have a crack at the ones I missed the first time:)

LBL has reformed and will most certainly be taking down all the faction leaders again. Not until we're lvl 80 though, elite 75 guards ftl.

5.5 million HP really isn't that much and neither is hitting 7k on plate. Boss mobs in raids now hit harder than that and some have more HP. He will hit for nothing on a lvl 80 tank (especially in tier gear).

The only thing that will make this difficult now is if you can't hit the king because he is 13 levels above you. The level 75 guards were hiting my level 60 warlock for a pitiful 500-700 crushing.

What makes faction leaders hard (and has always made faction leaders hard) is the server lag that happens each time you go in with a raid group.

Pre 3.0.2 I had killed each of the alliance leaders but the king of stormwind.

Killed him last night at 4 in the morning (QQ waking up in the middle of the night) and the fight was epicly long, around 40 minutes compared to the 10 minutes we spent killing Velen. The difference between the two fights is ridiculous. Anyway, we did this with a 40 man raid group. Casters protected the raid while most melee and hunters stayed on the boss. We had some resistance from around 10-15 alliance but otherwise, a smooth kill after 3-4 wipes.

Went down twice on EU-Die Todeskrallen 11/01/2008. 19'42" and 13'40". We were about 60 in 2 Raids. Still a long fight with the right tactic.

Quelm and Inevitable killed King Magni on Doomhammer-EU on Sunday 2/11/08 4:33 server time.

The server has a high population of alliance so we took 2 full groups and went as late as we could.

This guy is like fighting Velen and Tyrande at the same time, the difficulty is not comparable now that we are lvl 70 at least.

We stormed main gate, rided through the right side of the Commons, entered the small door leading to the Great Forge and at your left entered the High Seat. Once in, focus was on as many missdirects possible on the tanks and no dps till he is on a tank.
Formed a manwall of mages, moonkins, elemental shamans and a couple of warriors and ocasionally rogues at the entrance to keep the alliance back.
King Magni's abilities are nasty. First of all he hits like a truck, although tbh with the ammount of healers we had (around 20) keeping the tanks up wasn't the problem. The problem was his aggro wipe , a knockback aoe plus a stun. He needs to be picked asap by a tank (He IS tauntable as the tanks reported), but usually this meant 2-3 deaths (imagine lvl 70 vs lvl 83 elite - resists).
Everyone must release and run in as soon as they die, that's obvious.
Now be realy careful where you are standing, there are some side ledges in the room, if you are standing on it and you are a healer (for ex resto shaman) what will happen is during his threat wipe/knockback he will come after you and will evade/reset! This is not funny at all, it happened to us at 55% and had to restart. When we killed him I realised we were fighting him for over 45mins (including the reset ofc).
Attention! One tricky part is the last few %. What happens there is ppl stop releasing being afraid that they will lose the kill. Do not do that, as we almost wiped by the alliance that got into the room at that point. Even corpse running, you get the achievement!

Hope that posts helps anyone that wanna do it, I suggest try it, it is surely an epicly long fight into the heart of the Alliance and it is actually a bigger achievement than anything the game has to give you after patch 3.0.2 and before WotLK.

Downed on Sargeras US PvP January 13 2009 at exactly 12AM PST.

Full 40 man raid of level 80s. Three warlocks summoned inside the tram, they were logged out there the night before. We full mounted straight into the room. There were a lot of alliance, but only 4 people in our group died amazingly.

The key is to have designated people guard the door. Alliance warlocks were using Seed of Corruption on us, so you need to spread out. Alliance mages were also using blizzard which hurt pretty bad. You need to take out those two classes first and then worry about the others. Deathknights, like mine, were very helpful to deathgrip those guys right inside.

Ironforge guards will keep spawning, but they aren't tough at all. They will get wiped out constantly while you fight, or at least they should. I was amazing at how fast the King dropped though, he dropped in under 6 minutes. We had a warrior in 25 man naxx gear tank him who did great. Aoe heals will also help in this fight a lot.

I honestly don't think this good have gone any better. This is by far the hardest alliance city boss, due to Ironforge being a populous alliance hang out city. The king's abilities are also quite annoying, such as his stun.

On my server Alliance 80s outnumber Horde by anywhere between 4-1 and 5-1 (granted they're mostly juvenile's but 4-5 lvl 80 12 yr olds can usually kick my ass), and most Alliance hang out right at the entrance of Ironforge when they're not in Dalaran. So running through the main gates is not an option. Most people wanting to kill Bronzebeard are going to want to kill the other Alliance leaders at the same time rather than make multiple trips. For this I recommend hitting Stormwind first. Even though Ironforge is harder and attacking Stormwind first will alert your coming, it's still better than running past 50 lvl 80 Alliance to get to the boss.
Enter Stormwind from the boat in Borean Tundra. Every1 can just fly onto the boat and avoid all guards. When in Stormwind mount up and ride to Varian. Kill the bastard. Corpse run to him if you're unlucky enough to get stunned/killed by Alliance along the way. After Varian is down mount up and proceed to the tram. Take the tram to Ironforge. If any1 gets left behind use this time to have your warlocks summon them back to the group (if you brought no warlocks in your 40 man raid you fail). Proceed from the tram to kill Magni. This will potentially be the hardest part in obtaining your black war bear as any Alliance you may have killed during the Stormwind raid will probably want to regroup and take you down while you're killing Bronzebeard, along with any Alliance players already in Ironforge or Dalaran that feel like getting easy honor points. If you manage to kill Bronzebeard (which using this strategy you most likely will), hearth out and proceed to Darnassus and Exodar for the final 2 bosses. These will be ez as Darnassus and Exodar actually belong to Horde, not Alliance :)
Now of course you will encounter some Alliance pvpers and other problems during the raids. I've got some suggestions for you:
1. Use vent goddammit.
2. Mark your raid leader and always stay stacked on them while mounted. Stay as close as possible. Do not separate. Ignore/avoid all guards and Alliance until you get to the raid boss. This way it'll make it harder for Alliance players to figure out which ones to target for their stuns and they may just wait until you all dismount and spread out at the boss.
3. Don't bring any1 under lvl 80. They will hold you back. Just don't do it. Okay? Only 80s.
4. DKs are there for pvp only. DKs go stand on top of the raid boss and yank any flagged Alliance right on top of him. The resulting aoe dmg from the other 25-30 or so DPSers should almost always insta-kill any1 trying to foil your plans. If they don't die immediately you know what to do. Every1 else worry about the boss unless your raid composition suggests others should also be used for pvp.

As a side note, if you want to defend Thrall or Sylvanas, DKs are the best way to go about it. Every1 stay outside of Thrall's/Sylvanas' main chamber, around the corner out of los. DKs figure out who the healers are and yank them back to where the rest of the Horde are. Proceed to gank. Rinse and repeat. No1 needs to enter the main chamber where they will surely die and Alliance will wipe fast once most of the healers are down. If they're smart the healers will move to the back to avoid this, at which point you can just yank their tank away from the healers. Muahaha!

5. Dks yank Alliance DKs first. If they are smart they will start pulling your healers or maybe your tank away from the raid and gank them one at a time. Beat them to it.

The only thing I would change about this strategy would maybe be to enter Ironforge first via Gnomeregan then go to Stormwind via tram or maybe boat. Either way is fine though. But yeah basically entering Ironforge or Stormwind through the main gates is usually suicide.

My raid group had the hardest time with this one. Stormwind was actually easier.
All the alliance grouped up in the king's room and we had to all rez + hearth and regroup later during WG to avoid getting slaughtered by all those alliance.

We ended up doing it though. :) Recommended to go through the tram from Stormwind, you can regroup (resummon, rebuff, go over gameplans, etc) IN the tram without worrying too much about alliance, it's pretty empty most of the time. (Except for lowbies)

1) Send in a warlock or two with helpers (pref. stealthable classes) into one of those deserted stairwells near the large chamber outside the King's room.

2) Set up stone and start summoning. Tell people to stay out of sight of the top of the stairs.

3) Run like madmen into the throne room.

4) ?

5) Profit.

I would like to point out this is almost impossible during brewfest, having 80's doing dailys for brefest when someone runs out and says "IF IS UNDER ATTACK!"

I've done several raids over the past year or so trying to get this achievement. I have all the others. This one? Not once. Seems like every time, we fail.

The raid I just recently did, was in retaliation for an earlier raid on Org by the alliance. I said to them, "Go to IF first" but no one listened to me. We did SW first, then went to IF and got killed. So we went to kill Tyrande and Velen, came back to IF and while we did better we still died. The unfair thing about this is the location. Magni is right in the center of the damn city, and it's almost impossible to get to him undetected. Even if there's not of alliance around, the guards slow you down, and alliance end up being alerted during the minute or 2 it takes to get from the front door or from the tran over to throne room.

This needs to be nerfed somehow.

Just did this and killing King Magni was the hardest.

The group I went in with got King Varian first then took the tram to IF. That was a disaster because the Allies put up a lot of defenders for Magni while Varian was being taken down (Velen and Tyrande are the least defended).

On the next attempt a day later, our group gathered in Badlands and rode like crazy to the front door of IF. We managed to get most of our tanks, DPS and Healers in without too much defense. One group took care of Magni while the others stationed themselves by the entrance to pick off defenders. That attempt was successful.

As others have mentioned before, Magni is the strongest leader by far.
