"Algalon the Observer is a hard mode-only encounter in Ulduar. Algalon was sent by the titans after Watcher Loken's death activated a planetary fail-safe protection, indicating possible distress on Azeroth. Algalon's task is to analyze any systemic corruption on the planet. If deemed beyond saving, the Titans will "re-originate" the planet to cleanse it of corruption, killing all currently living organisms in the process. "
The thing is: when he is defeated, he does not die, he disappears saying:
"Analysis complete. There is partial corruption in the planet's life-support systems as well as complete corruption in most of the planet's defense mechanisms. "
What now? Are all the inhabitants of Azeroth doomed?

if you listen on the sounds files you would know he has two options.
He was instructed by the titans to monitor and make a report on the current situation in azeroth and if the taint was too great so saving was not possible. He was instructed to send either two codes: Alpha code who stops the re orginate and tells the titans azeroth is no concern(Then you defeat him in time) and omega code who tells the titans to re orginate the planet and tell them it is beyond saving(then you run out of time).
He is really a cold hearted bastard and to me he is the real end boss of ulduar:)
A tip listen on the audio files on youtube they are really good.

Dumac's got the idea down pretty well. But regardless of what people say about him, Algalon is absolutely my idol. Damned be those mortal emotions!

From my interpretation of the sound files, it sounds like he has a cutscene in the middle of battle, which is the one of "failure". I'm probably wrong...

Does anyone know what actually happens when you lose? Like, what does it look like? I mean, Azeroth cant completely dissapear just for losing to a raid boss. Does everyone in the raid just die like normal?
