Not fearable sadly.

I'm a 66 affliction Lock and I did it with a rouge tanking (I know, lol).

First time around, I died, SS'ed, then he died with the guy having 1000 HP left. Reset half way (WTF?) before I could finish casting. :(

Second time around was easy as he had half health. Rouge tanked tho and died at the very last second. I got key though, so we were fine.

Simply put -- doable with 2, easy with 3.

nuked, jumped down, nuked while he was running down, ran up, wen't ooc (out of combat) nuked, jumped, nuked while he was running down, invisibility, repeat :3

This is how you can solo it on a hunter:

First, turn on "Aspect of the Viper" and turn off "Growl" and all damaging special attacks on your pet. You want "Viper" because it's a lenghty fight and no special abilities so you can aggro him easier.

Clear the entire area immediately before the attempt.
Run up, send in the pet (with "Growl" turned off) and activate "Mend Pet" right away (apart from making sure that your pet won't die, this will aggro him towards you in case he's out of sight after you have jumped down).
Put the pet on "Stay" and jump down the ledge. Chances are he'll already be following you because of the aggro from "Mend Pet". If not, wait until he does or start shooting right away if you have an LoS to him.
Be careful not to fall down the ledge to your right. When he gets close, feign death. He will not reset but run back towards your pet which is conveniently parked at his spawn location. Rinse, repeat until dead.

If your pet dies, you lose because he'll reset to full health as soon as you FD. The video posted above will help you getting familiar with the setup, but I think it's pretty clear anyway when you're at the location yourself.

This is actually a prime example how to exploit pathing to effectively solo difficult mobs with a hunter. Ironically non of the quest rewards are especially appealing to us ;-).

Just killed Cho'war in a duo (68 feral druid, 66 BM (I think) hunter), without jumping. It was very, very close. The only way it'd work was if the pet tanked, I (the druid) started in cat form to help with dps and after that shift to help heal the pet, shift back, do damage, shift out to heal. Worked, but only just.

Done with a 67 fury warrior and 65/66 shaman. Relatively easy fight. Just sword and board with the shammie switching between DPS and healing - I never got below 1/3 health.

Pull the mob in front of Cho'war seperately first.

Didn't try to solo him as a 67 feral druid (learned from experience from leveling my mage), but is easily 2 personed as long as you have a dang good healer. Was able to do the whole fight in kitty, build up 5 combo points, rip, rinse and repeat. Keep Faerie Fire(feral) and Mangle up at all times, as well as rake for the bleed damage and he goes down pretty quick (about a 2 minute fight, maybe less but I didn't exactly time it) Improved LoTP aura and the idol from MT first boss (idol of the claw) helps with the heals a little. Your own results may vary, so have fun :)

This is soloable at level 70. I can solo it as a paladin by outlasting him. All of my gear I use to kill him, as a paladin, is from normal five man instances and group quests.
I did this as a druid. I got him down to 40% before being killed. For some reason, he did not reset. When I got back to him, he was still at 40% HP. I proceeded to kill him. I don't think I could of soloed it if he had reset. :D

It's worth mentioning that killing Cho'war and getting the key is not an explicit requirement. You just need someone in your group to open the cage.

This is also soloable as a 70 enhance shammy, just use ur earth elemental and dps , as the earth elemental gets low on health , heal it ^^ (u may want to take a mana pot with u for if you get low on mana but u can also use ur shamanistic rage to replenish mana)

Just soloed it as a lvl 68 demo lock. Tried a couple of times with felguard, however he is simply too squishy.

Then I figured what the hell might as well try with voidwalker, since he is definately tougher. I kept CoW on Cho'war throughout and just kept health funneling voidy to full health all the time, while keeping myself bandaged (health funnel sucks health, not mana).

Cho'war sometimes procs an armor debuff on your pet which makes voidy take a lot of damage quite fast and he also procs Mortal Strike, which halves your Health Funnel effect. Therefore you need to keep voidy close to full all the time. This is very very important.

It takes some time (about 7-10 minutes) since voidys dps is really bad and you have to watch your threatmeter carefully. If you get aggro from Cho'war its practically over, since he hits really hard. You have precious few seconds to react and he is immune to terror/fear. Your best bet is to pop Soulshatter, after which you should be golden (as long as you dont pop it very early in the fight). I would also advise to lifetap once in a while in order to give mana to your pet, which he can use for his taunting ability.

Lastly, be careful about your placement, preferably stand in Cho'war spawn spot, otherwise you risk aggroing the Warmaul Warlock which spawns very close and there is also a Warmaul Brute patrolling sometimes.

But all in all, definately doable by a lvl 68 demo lock. Prolly not by a normal lvl 68 lock tho.

I love it how you have 50 people telling you have to kill the guy but not how to finish the quest. This listing is for the quest, not the NPC. You kill the NPC in the quest but still have more to do.
After you get key from killing Cho'war, corki is in middle cave all the way in back, 29,26. Then return to Arechron.

Just Solo'd with 66 Affliction Lock (690 Bonus Damage)

Easy as hell, clear first.. don't loot (spawn quicker if you loot) then Keep him fear'd with IMP Fireballing his ass, and then just DoT him up... and keep the process. Went down in about a minute and a half!

68 aff/dest lock (SL-CoE/S&F, a very versatile spec that has served me very nicely, at least until the talent rework patch next week!), soloed. Took 2 tries. As someone earlier stated, you really have to keep the pet's health topped off as much as possible. That person's good idea was to use Curse of Weakness on Cho'war, which I hardly ever use but which is appropriate here so that your healing can keep up with the damage your pet is getting (I did not get the Improved talent though). Improved Health Funnel would probably help a ton too but I don't have it. I barely survived the fight. Use Soulshatter if you pull aggro off the pet. It was a long fight...

Just soloed as 69 prot pally, with no exceptional gear. Just kept hammering him, with devotion aura up. Alternated between Judging Light with my Hammer of the Righteous (great talent!), and kept my Holy Shield up as much as possible. Also used Kings instead of Salvation for the added damage, health and mana. Used one bubble, one super mana pot and didn't have to LoH at all. Don't waste time trying to stun--he's immune.

Soloed as a L66 DK with average gear.

Major strength and major fort elixirs as well as +20 strength food. Summoned a ghoul and used Dancing Rune Weapon as well as Mark of Blood, a couple of Death Strikes and one Super Healing Potion for health.

When I was at about 20% health, I jumped down and as he came around to follow, the ghoul picked him up halfway down. I was able to bandage and get back in to finish him off.

Not simple, but doable.

I just soloed Cho'war as a level 68 Unholy Death Knight. Ironically, I dinged 68 by pulling his addon alone and killing it. After that, I buffed up as much as a DK can, and I pulled him with Death Grip. I used Icy Touch and Plague Strike and kept up those diseases whenever they ran out. I continued to pound him with Blood Strike, Scourge Strike, and Death Coil. Whenever I was low on health, I used a Death Strike. My Ghoul Minion slashed at him, and with this process I took him down with little difficulty. I didn't even have to use a pot. :)

He's in the top level of the Northern Cave in Warmaul Hill. You're on the lower level when you enter the cave; fight your way to the back and then a path will lead to the entrance to the upper level. Just fight up the ramp and you'll find him. Grab the key, head back to Corki where he gave you the quest, and then back to Telaar. Enjoy...

Solo'd as a 66 Blood DK.

Used Frost Presence, and 1 minion. Just blow your CD's and he should die with little to no problem. By the end, he only took off about 40% of my hp.

Soloed this at 69 as a prot Warrior.

Made sure I had Commanding Shout up before starting and charged in. Shield Blocked immediately then Shield Walled when SB's CD was half over. Shield Blocked again then used Last Stand (again, when SB's CD was close to half over) to get me through.

All in all, used a health pot and ended the fight with ~3K HP (out of 9.8K).

Soloed as lvl 67 ret pally pretty good geared; 7.6k HP 3.5k mana and 1.3k AP; used only one Divine shield and one mana pot, not LoH, great HP but he doesnt hit that hard, just time your heals with his Mortal Strikes and you are done.

Respawn time is about 15 seconds.

Easily solo'd as a 67 ret paladin. Just keep using your instant flash of lights everytime you come up and you'll be fine. Didn't even need the bubble but ended the fight at about 35% health. He should be no problem for any ret paladin since you'll have your bubble and LoH still.

Hmmm.....i just did this as a shaman and i did it easy.. just pulled him let my spirit woulf get agro and then i nuked him til my spirit woulf died then i used my stone elemental totem and that one hold agro till the elite died... simply like that.... i got no problem to do this as a enhancement shaman....lvl 67

Did it as a shadow priest. Trinket > dots ... stood on this ledge until my bubble broke. Hopping down and flayed until he was out of range. As he came down reapply dots and mind blast. Work with your Weakened Soul timer.

Once he reaches you dps until he breaks your new bubble. Dispersion right there and start heading back to where he spawns. Go out of form and heal until you get to his spawn(make sure SW:P gets refreshed with flay). Pop a pot and shadowfiend for mana. Reapply dots and hop off once more. Flay + MB as he comes down and finish him off.

Soloed with a level 67 Protection Warrior. I made sure to clear the area before taking him on because I knew I couldn't afford to divert any of my damage to any other targets. I don't now how much it helped, but I used a Scroll of Protection to add 285 armor and ate some food that gave me +20 Stamina and Spirit. I charged in and used Bloodrage simultaneously, generating a fair amount of rage. I then used Regal Protectorate (+900 health for 15 seconds, trinket) and Uniting Charm (+185 attack power for 15 seconds, trinket) as well as Battle Shout and Demoralizing Shout.

With so much rage at my disposal, I was able to use Devastate/Revenge/Shield Slam and Heroic Strike often simultaneously for the first several strikes. After I lost about 2000 health, I activated Shield Wall, but otherwise continued my normal rotation. Did not bother using Concussion Blow or Shockwave as Cho'war is immune to stuns. After Shield Wall wore off, I activated Shield Block and was able to toss in a couple more Revenges than normal.

I activated Bloodrage one more time and kept pounding away. When I dropped to 2000 health, I activated Last Stand and finished him off right before the effect ended. I had about 100 health left by the time it was over.

Gylphs that helped me in this fight were Glyph of Devastate and Glyph of Bloodrage, since it removes the health cost. This battle probably would have been a lot easier if I'd had at least one health potion on me. :/

As a Death Knight, know you CANNOT SOLO THIS, unless you are a VERY POWERFUL 69+. Chains of Ice doesnt work, and he doesnt fight fair. The only way you MIGHT beat him is with the 65 level Health Potion. Other than that he is in the Big cave across from Corki, and you have to fight all the lame ogres un less you are 70+. Good Luck!

Heck, forget DPS DK specs, I just did him frost tank specced without needing Icebound Fortitude or Unbreakable armor. Did use Lichborne at the start though to get some dodge... Delivered a good beatdown =)

Pretty hard as a elemental shaman, I suggest to kite him as the hunter above showed in his video for the inital pull for some start damage. When he reaches you, drop Earth Elemental Totem and wind shock to remove the aggro you gained from the pull. Let the elemental tank while you dps and heal your earth elemental occasionally

I solo'd him as a 68 frost mage. Used water elemental, icy veins and trinket (sp trinket from 'Overlord'). Went max range and frostbolt all the time.
Then, when he almost reached me, I started running, ice lancing him. Then, when my shield broke, I jumped down with slow fall, Ice lancing him in the air. Almost near me > frostbolt and ice lance him down.

I used mana gem and lifeblood. Close fight but downed him in 1 try.

Simply put:

Navigate through the paths in the caves until you find Cho'war. Kill him. Loot his key. Jump down a level and walk outside. Re-enter the cave were Corki is and free him.

Note: Warmaul Chief Bufferlo (66 Elite) is standing next to Corki's cage so you'll have to kill him or at least free Corki and run to complete the quest.

Soloed as a 66 BM Hunter.

Soloed as lvl 67 enchantment shaman, If u are enchantment shaman put ur strength of earth totem, healing stream and windfury totems, start fight with earth shock and pop ur shamanic rage and gift of the naaru (alliance), when those cooldowns are ending pop spirit wolves, then just kill him, you might have to make some instant cast healing waves cause he hit you about 1,7k mortal strikes.

soloed as bm 67 hunter in greens with raid talents and ferocity pet with dps talents (the pet dies faster + bad build for leveling), no pots or any special buff
you have to know when to use the distracting shot so the pet can recover a bit while you run and disengage/deterrence/feing death and then combat again
I had to resurrect my pet in combat two times since he hits hard but was easy since he's a slow ass runner (although he charges), the last time my pet died he was with 6k health or so but I dedided to finish the job without him
no need to kite, easy fight (at least not as the other ones in which you only have to press one button and send your pet while you pwn 9999 mobs without any skill needed)

Im a 70 unholy Death Knight and I admit, this guy is tough. I have set my ghoul on him and put ghoul frenzy on and then use range attacks once my ghoul is low ill death pact so i gain a bunch of health and then gift of hte Naaru and i STILL die. What am i doing wrong?

Just soloed as a 66 BM hunter in lower level blues and quest greens and white core hound with heart of the phoenix yesterday.

I gasped to myself and was about to give up when I saw the number of hp Cho'war had... 40-50K HP, that sure looks like an elite mob you solo when you are 80... If I had read the discussions here and knew he was soloable I would have surely tried, but since I didn't, for a while I was thinking about hearthing - although the reward ring was an upgrade over the Mason's Fraternity Ring I was still using from the ZF days, it's really not that great for a hunter anyway. But I decided to give it a try anyway to give myself a challenge because BM "shoot and loot" level up was getting quite boring - and as it turned out, no skill was really needed at all, and I was glad I did try.

Cho'war surely doesn't hit as hard as a 80 elite, and my pet didn't die in two hits. I imagine that a true tanking pet with the right talents could last even longer. I just had mend pet on so that the pet could last as long as possible, and popped all damage cooldowns I had. I was able to take more than half of his HP by the time my pet died, so I tanked and meleed him for a few seconds while my pet used heart of the phoenix to revive, and then I used intimidation to get aggro back (don't remember whether the stun worked but at least the aggro snap worked - or did I have to feign death, don't remember, but in any event getting aggro back on the pet was no problem). Then I ran out of mana so by instinct I switched to aspect of the viper, but then I remembered I had too many potions in my bank anyway, so I switched back to hawk and popped a super mana potion instead. Then Cho'war died and I looted the key. That's it.

This is one of the most difficult mobs (in terms of max hp of the mob) I've ever taken solo with this character so far, so I gave my pet a big pat on the back and said "good job Shiroro!".

I've seen him die or helped someone kill him maybe 30-40 times. He is a tough fight for many 67s and he is relentless. For all classes; don't let his charge knock you off a ledge. Avoid going toe-to-toe with him if possible. Do what you can to keep him away from you, and hit him with everything you've got. Take out all the preceding ogres quickly and start on Cho'war as soon as you're ready. Once you have him lightly killed and ransacked, get out of there - he respawns quickly.

He is the perfect hunter target. George the gorilla keeps his attention with growl and stomp. I keep my distance, unload on him and keep George healthy. Afterwards, George gets a crusty flatbread and some Halaani grapes. George is such a good boy! Oh, yes he izzz...

Solo'd as a 67 Enh shammy in BoAs with zero difficulty. Popped rage, wolves and totems, finished the fight with full health and mana. If you're a vet leveling a pimped-out alt, don't be shy about doing this one solo.

i would strongly suggest grouping on this quest. This guy is not soloable at least for me. as a lvl 67 BM hunter with a pet wolf and Heart of the Pheonix, i still only got him down from 45 K to 15 K before my pet and i died irreversibly. maybe soloable with a true tank pet like a gorilla or a turtle and a little more experience with WoW than me.

an arcane mage pared with a BM hunter and a good pet should have no problem killing this guy but solo I just just got raped.

further more: Why the hell does Blizzard always make the good quest rewards available only after killing a guy who has 10x more life than you and 3x more devastating attacks? I dont like having to spend exorbitant amounts of money at the AH for armor and weapons.

As a 67 Combat Rogue: Here's what I did.
(I was in a few BoAs and quest item stuff)

NOTE! HE IS IMMUNE TO ALL STUNS, CCs, INCAPACITATED EFFECTS, AND DISARMS.ALSO, AFTER KILLING HIM FOR THE KEY, GO BACK TO CORKI (located at the cave where you got this quest, coords unknown but is the eastern cave on the plateau where you kill Cho'war. Eggs)

That being said:

Step 1: Kill usually the add right in front of him (can easily attack it at level 67ish without pulling him).

Step 2: Start off with Garrote, since Cheap Shot he is immune to.

Step 3: Immediately pop Killing Spree (and an attack power trinket if you had one, I had 2).

Step 4: After Killing Spree, pop Evasion, Blade Furry and Adrenaline Rush and get off about a 3 pt Rupture and get maxed out Eviscerates off.

Step Q: Pop another attack power trinket if you have, and keep getting 5 pt Eviscerates (hopefully you can parry an attack or two to get a free attack and melee speed reduction Riposte off).

Step Eleventy-seven: ?

Step Done: Hopefully you killed him and got his key! I had to use Lifeblood, the Cooldowns mentioned, and a Super healing potion. I lived with about 25% health :D.

This isnt easy for a rogue, considering this fatso is immune to Gouge, any stun, Blind, Sap and Dismantle. Apparently he doesnt like it from behind.

If you wait around long enough, Corki respawns. When Corki respawns, the door to his box is shut. Standing inside the box stops the ogres from aggroing, yet you can leave at any time. (Now why couldn't Corki phase through the box?)

the hunters break down isnt working idk maybe becuz im beast mastery but as soon as i jump off the ledge my pet takes agro maybe becuz he does too much damage but i tried it 2 times an wiped both times..

The trick to soloing this guy, on a healing class, is that you fight him for a little while, then drop down to the level below his spawn point, making him run around the circle down to you.

However, you HAVE to cast a spell on him while he runs down, or he loses aggro.

Soloed on my druid just now, the fight went like this. Attack him, get him down to about 70%, drop down to the level below him. Easiest to do this to the left of him as you face him. Then, wait until he is running down the ring to you, and moonfire him. Has to be done before he gets opposite of you, as that is too far to cast on. Hit him with any spell as he starts the run around the ring to you. Then heal yourself to full.

Switch back to bear, and back up around the ring as you fight him, gets him down to 40% or so, and repeat, using frenzied regen on the last bit.

The real reason for the drop is the break in Mortal strike debuff, though I suppose if you time it well you can heal around it.

Was fairly tough on a moderately geared lvl 68 druid, but fun.

Previous advice says to go in the back entrance, but there are two of them. Make sure you go in the upper back entrance or you will see the guy on a ledge but won't be able to get to him. Also, the big mobs in the cave have this habit of throwing you in the air backwards, so make sure your back is not to one of the drop-offs when fighting these guys. Once you get him, don't stand there chatting. He respawns real quick, I would say in less than a minute.

Managed to solo as a lvl 69 Shaman. Fire Elemental Totem, Spirit Wolves and a couple pieces of Northrend armor from the first couple quests in Borean Tundra.

not to be like i'm uber or something, but i soloed him on my 65 DK.... i had 8.2 k HP and i just frost presence(ofc) and i had him down to 1 k HP when i died.... but then i had shadow of death, and i killed him and looted his key.... so it is soloable on lvl 65....

I (BM hunter) soloed him very easily). I didnt use any potion during the fight. I just kept healing my pet and feigning death whenever I got aggro. At the end of the fight, both me and my pet had abt 90% of our health. I didnt have to use "heart of the phoenix" or "lick your wounds" on my pet even once. I did have to use 75% of my mana. But so what? All in all, an easy quest chain.

that KEY is another quest, if you look that up you see it's clearly stated you need to talk to Corki FIRST .. very common mistake apparently lol

I soloed this at 70, but it wasn't easy. Dropped my Earth Elemental burned Heroism, used my Merciless Gladiator with Crusader, Had a Stonebreaker Totem (+110 AP on proc) and the SSO necklace with Exalted on Aldor (+200AP when it procs). Had a 25.8% chance to crit. Used Heal and Healing Pots

Barely won with 900 HP remaining.

Did this today following the information below as a 69 Demo Warlock with 2/2 Imp Health Funnel, 3/3 Mana Feed, 3/3 Demonic Resilience. Voidwalker never fell below 75% HP - took breaks when he was full to bandage myself (did it about 3-4 times), drank a Super Health Potion, ate a Healthstone, even through a Death Coil. Only had to Life Tap twice to ensure he was topped off on mana.

Had to Soulshatter super early since I got threat way too fast. Fight went on long enough for me to Soulshatter again. On the 2nd Shatter I was able to dish out a lot of dmg and finish the fight quickly.

Just soloed it as a lvl 68 demo lock. Tried a couple of times with felguard, however he is simply too squishy.

Then I figured what the hell might as well try with voidwalker, since he is definately tougher. I kept CoW on Cho'war throughout and just kept health funneling voidy to full health all the time, while keeping myself bandaged (health funnel sucks health, not mana).

Cho'war sometimes procs an armor debuff on your pet which makes voidy take a lot of damage quite fast and he also procs Mortal Strike, which halves your Health Funnel effect. Therefore you need to keep voidy close to full all the time. This is very very important.

It takes some time (about 7-10 minutes) since voidys dps is really bad and you have to watch your threatmeter carefully. If you get aggro from Cho'war its practically over, since he hits really hard. You have precious few seconds to react and he is immune to terror/fear. Your best bet is to pop Soulshatter, after which you should be golden (as long as you dont pop it very early in the fight). I would also advise to lifetap once in a while in order to give mana to your pet, which he can use for his taunting ability.

Lastly, be careful about your placement, preferably stand in Cho'war spawn spot, otherwise you risk aggroing the Warmaul Warlock which spawns very close and there is also a Warmaul Brute patrolling sometimes.

But all in all, definately doable by a lvl 68 demo lock. Prolly not by a normal lvl 68 lock tho.

The guy you need to kill is in a cave opposite of where the map marks it. Entrance for the cave to find him in is /way 27.26, 18.91
After you kill him you get the key and can go to the cave that is marked on the minimap.
