This quest is the prereq for Jail Break! (https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/quest=4322) and the final step before escorting Windsor out of Blackrock Depths and into Stormwind. When turning this quest in, do NOT take the follow up (Jail Break!) because it will start the escort part of the quest. Either keep the items until you get a group for Jail Break! and warn them ahead of time you haven't turned it in yet, or turn in the items and do not hit "accept" to the next quest.

When killing the Golem Lord for the first bit of information be sure to clear all of the gnome mechanics and elite golems sitting in the nearby area.

When killing the General be sure to clear all mobs before pulling him and to conserve mana during the fight. When he gets low in health he'll call out for aid. Most of the creatures that come are non-elite and can be aoe'd down; however, there are elite "Anvilrage Medics" in the group that will heal, so be sure to single target them down quickly.

General Angerforge: He's in the West Garrison. Assuming you have the Shadowforge Key, from where you enter BRD, open the gate north, then open the first gate along the right wall, and open the East Garrison door. You'll be in a room with a mechanism. Kill all the mobs in the room, then use the mechanism. Head upstairs and clear left until you reach a hallway with windows overlooking the Dark Iron Highway. The bridge on the other side should be open, so cross it and enter West Garrison. Angerforge is downstairs on the left from where you enter the garrison.

Golem Lord Argelmach: From the West Garrison, go north out into a large area with gnome mobs and golems. Kill every mob here. Argelmach is in a small room north of this large area.

Also.. keep in mind that the Drop rate on these two quest items are around 16% each.. which I believe to be false seeing as how I've recieved them every single time it was required. It's also Lootable for all party members.

This quest chain appears to have been killed since the pre-WotLK patch. I turned in the lost info and Windsor didn't want to break out of jail. I take it that the Onyxia attunement is out the window since she no longer hangs out in Stormwind.

Starts from a Crumpled Note you get off random mobs in BRD. I believe the note doesnt drop until you have completed Windsor's previous quest, Abandoned Hope.

I have both informations i just have to give you windsor. Can I wait till I get a jail break group then go turn them in and then start escort or will turning the information into windsor send me somwhere else before jailbreak starts?

You all talk about the note dropping outside BRD and dropping 5 times etc etc.

LOOK at the quest you are writing information about here. This is the follow up quest following the crumpled note.

PLEASE STOP CONFUSING PEOPLE. It is not rocket science. This quest has now been extended since Thottbot registered it and it now needs a drop of two pieces of information, one from each boss found in BRD. You have to kill the bosses to get both bits of information.

The quest has to be done as a group and not a raid.

well there pretty ez doable with each 5 party group you dot even need aoe

Angelforge is down the stairs to the left...
just let ur MT tank him... and let the rest get the 4 adds.. (they die very ez, with my paly they were dead in 3-4 hits)

then dps the boss in the end he he calls for reinforcement..

try top have him killed before they arive saves alot of time since he is getting medics...
again just kill off the ez normal mobs before killing the elite medics and it should be no problem at all
IMPORTANT in the room there are 2 fire elementals.. kill those and go back up the stairs and jump off the other side and kill the 3 mobs there or they get pulled and its alot harder...

Argelmach (aka the pussy) he is guarded by 2 golems... just take down the golems one at a time beofre going for the boss..
He runs away thorgh the golem part getting help, so make sure YOU KILL EVERYTHING THERE before going forthe boss
when killing the golems argelmach is just running arounmd trying to find help... so you wont be bothered by him, whent he golems are dead kill him, he does do some hard dmg so be carefull about that

after that go back to marshall deliver the 2 peices of info and get jailbreak..

IMPORTANT do not accept folow up quest till EVERYBODY delivered the quest, else someone might just miss it..

I just finished the Masqeurade....not at my computer at home so I dont remember the name, but there is another step that involves getting some kind of dragon essence or something. I was told that this is the next step to getting the key. The person told me it was in Winterspring they thought. Does anyone know anything about this? Anyway, there is an earlier post in this thread that alludes to the fact that you get the key after the great masquerade...that is not correct.

It was true I guess. But new patches have prolonged quest chain.

Now you need to get to winterspring, get through a cave full of elite dragons (preferably in stealth) and teleport to the top of a mountain.
There you get the quest that takes u into UBRS to get the blood of the end boss. Not unlimited blood drop so if you are more than two in group with quest you are likely to have to do it again.

When you have it however you bring it back to winterspring, past the dragons, teleport back on top of the mountain and finish quest line.

Don't even bother trying to stun him hes immune, plus for some reason whenever you begin to fight him he runs away and makes ads, now the worst thing is if you haven't cleared the room... if you haven't prepare for wipe because the arcane aoe damage is insane i was killed outright by 2 bolts, 985 arcane dmg followed by 800+ and his melee hits for around 200-400.

BTW only raid quests can be completed with a raid group.

Since these People are trying to Confuse u, i will update this quest for people 1.11 Patch, BRD can only be 5 man'd now. The Crumpled Note will only drop after completing the other quest chain with The True Masters and onwards. Several Mobs Can drop the note if u look at the drop rate. Remember Jail Break Cannot Be raided. Jail Break Requires Getting Marshal's info from Golem Lord and Angerforge. Any questions, Ventral/Ventrel in Uther Good luck YA'll

Need advice on THIS quest, "A Shred of Hope"...

Does someone have a good strategy for a group of FOUR level 55-60's to kill General Angerforge and Golem Lord Argelmach?

We knew enough about Angerforge to clear the ENTIRE room first, upper and lower floors. The general himself would be easy to kill with our Warrior/Pally/Druid/Mage combo; his guards and most of his adds die like paper dolls. But our group wiped because the (main healer) druid got ALL the adds' aggro and died before we even noticed they had arrived!

We're gonna try switching roles, so the int-geared druid pokes at the general, while the plate-wearing pally acts as the only healer... hoping he grabs aggro from the adds, which would give the mage time to nuke them down and polymorph one of the medics. (Anyone think this will or won't work?)

If we make it to this point, should we all focus on killing the other medic or bringing down Angerforge himself? Or *gasp* does he call for yet-another round of adds once we bring his health down again?

So now, after all these wipes, we're even more wary of our second boss Argelmach! I remember reading somewhere that we may be able to single-pull his golem guards, so that we can get boss-man SOLO. Has anybody found this to be true?

If not, does anybody have any suggestions that might help our team avoid the multiple wipes that it took for us to figure out the Angerforge battle?

All I can say for the above post is this...

Last night my group, (which consisted of 4 guildies) a 60 Frost/Arcane Mage(me), a 60 Restro Druid, a 60 Rogue, and a 60 Holy Pally pretty much owned BRD. And none of us are decked out in Epic's, all of us have mostly all blue's from our tier .5 set and other pieces. See here is what happened... We all needed to get the information, so we had to go kill the bosses. Only one problem, none of us could remember how to get to those bosses (had been a long time since we ran BRD-we had been spending our time in strat and scholo) so we had to roam around looking at our atlas to find it, roamed for probably an hour and a half, killing bosses and this and that, before we remembered how to get to what we actually needed. So off we go, to kill the bosses. By now I am in my second set of gear (green crap) cause my first set was a paper doll.

Here is how we handled Angerforge... First of all when you get to the room with the General you need to go to the bottom of the stairs and kill the Fire Elementals, then go back up the stairs to the little landing and jump down and kill the group of 3 off to the side and now you're ready to take on the General. Basically our holy pally tanked the general, me and the rogue took out the general's little friends standing with him(not the adds at the end), after we take out his friends the rogue and I finish off the general with the Pally. Oh, yes and we can't forget the adds, umm basically I conserved mana during the fight with the general and then did aoe to take out the adds at the end. And our druid, who is an incredible healer (has out-healed preists consistently!) healed us during battle. Pretty easy battle if you know what to expect.

Here is how we handled Golem Lord...
First of all the Golem Lord is way at the back or the area in a small, kind of circular, room. You need to clear out all the other golems and tiny people before killing the Boss. Once you get to the boss you have to kill him and his two big golems with him. We had our pally tank the Golem Lord while me and the rogue took the other two, then we helped finish off the boss.

Done, now it's time to turn in the info to Windsor back at his cell.

here is the way you do it.
first clear the outside room - given
then when you go to attack the guy , don't attack him. get his small golem first, the lord guy runs off looking for help, then kill big golem. you should be done killing the golems before he returns.

all i can say about chain lightning is that except to interrupt his spell casting, shield slam, pummel, stun , then he drops quick

Come on people! Try not to overcomplicate This fight.

1. Clear the golem factory
2. kill blue golem
3. kill red golem
4. kill archelmage
5. Enjoy an easy victory

It's an easy fight. Had a healadin as groups only healer.

Just wanted to summarize the strategy that worked for our 4-char group (55 resto-druid, 56 warrior, 60 paladin, 60 mage)...

General Angerforge

*	Clear the entire upstairs part of Angerforge's room; Greater Fire Protection Potions may help here.
*	Kill the two fire elementals at the bottom of the stairs.
*	Jump off the landing (where the stairs turn to the right).
*	Kill the group of three dark iron dwarves. WATCH FOR RUNNERS!
*	Reposition for the boss fight:
	* Leave your healer in this same corner (off the stairway landing).
	* AOE'ers move to the base of the stairs; CONSERVE MANA for the adds.
*	Tank(s) charge Angerforge, while all others wipe out his wimpy ~1000hp guards.
*	Once Angerforge hits about 1/2-1/3 health, WATCH FOR HIS CALL FOR HELP.
*	Refocus on the adds, who come running down the stairs:
	* Only the main tank stays on Angerforge.
	* Healer may stay with the tank, as needed.
	* All others focus on killing the two MEDICS, while the AOE handles the rest of the adds. (If you have a mage, as we did, you can polymorph one medic for a much quicker boss kill.)
*	Remember to loot Marshal Windsor's Lost Information.

Golem Lord Argelmach

*	Clear the entire Manufactory in case Argelmach runs for help.
*	Prepare for the boss fight:
	* Everybody (but especially the main tank and main healer) drink a Greater Nature Protection Potion in case Argelmach does not run for help, or for when he gets back.
	* Healer and casters should avoid the doorway to avoid aggro when Argelmach returns.
	* Main tank charges the right-hand (smaller) golem, then cycles through the three targets to grab aggro... or
	* If you have an off-tank, they can focus on the second (larger) golem.
*	Take down the smaller golem first, then the larger.
*	Save Argelmach for last.
*	Remember to loot Marshal Windsor's Lost Information ...and the (300 skill) engineering Schematic: Field Repair Bot 74A on the floor nearby, if needed.

Got the stuffs when in a group but managed to solo turn in the q as lvl 59 hunter.

Only to FD a little and send pet at the guards infront of the door... unlock it while the guards are beating up your pet and complete then FD and use HS :P

Has anyone lost the Marshall? We finished killing the lords and got the information, and when we went back to his cell, he was gone. Even resetting didn't help.

Is it because we did it for fun past level 65?

Well, i can't agree with those who say that Golem lord Argelmach isn't a sissy. We killed him + golems all under lvl 56 party.
1 Holy paladin level 53
1 Fury warrior level 54
1 Arms warrior level 55
1 Demonology warlock level 53
1 Holy priest level 54

General angerforge wasen't a problem just killed him and addds but Priest wiped on adds.

On Argelmach don't forget the side rooms, or else ur all doomed.

its not a escort mission & if you don't know how to get to most of these bosses you have to finish BRD arena then go through that area and open a door most of this is easy to find the bosses are white close together.

I've tried this once with a 5 man party. Well it was pretty hard with no warrior and only a druid. But over time, we managed it quite well. Only wiped at the first group of 5 dwarves, then we tried some tactic ;)

But we weren't able to find those bosses, we walked around half of BRD, I even have atlas, but how are we supposed to get to those two bosses?

Did this quest 3-man with a pally, mage and resto druid. Not too hard if you have good healing.

I was told this and all previous quests leading up to this point must be done with only five people (or less, of course, if possible, depending on the task).

Has anyone tried to complete this stage with a raid group? It is quite doable at level 60 with five people, but time-consuming and you have to be careful.

I was also told that it is possible to do the escort quest with a raid grouop; some people say you must do it with a raid group. Any comments?
