Simple and fun quest. Go through the mine until you find an exit with a guard standing post. Kill the guard somewhere around to your right just up ahead you'll see a glowy cart. Click it and a worker will take you to the ship.

Here's how you win.

1. Make sure you nuke the living crap out of as many as you can.
2. Don't bother using the pitch. Hold down the right button on the mouse and move around that way. It's a lot easier and faster.
3. If they come closer to the ship, use your electric thingy to kill them.

Tip1: Make sure you have 2 others with you helping it makes it go by faster without dying.

Tip2: If your going to die, I would highly suggest you DIE. You will get a self rez. Make sure to heal up 100% before you start it or else it won't last that long.

Tip3: If you are going to die, don't escape with the scourge gryphon. Release, run back and rez. It makes it easier rather then escaping and having to go through the mine again.

Fire 1 round into their ranks, then aim at the bottom of the ship's ramp. Lay a steady stream of cannon fire there and they will charge in and die fairly quickly. Very few will make it on board and you can complete the quest and fly off long before you are severely injured.

Solo'd this at lvl 55 without a problem.

Pesky quest when there's loads of people & lag around.

It's handy to know that right-clicking your portrait will give you a "Leave"-option, to dismount from the cannon.

The cannon toolbar showed once out of maybe 5-7 mountings for me, leaving me completly clueless to what to actually do initially.

Im pretty sure that if you dont have the cannon toolbar up then ctrl+1 will fire the cannon ranged, ctrl+2 will send off electricity to the defenders that has gotten close to you.

However, if you do get the toolbar, then it should be just 1 & 2 for those two actions.

Edit: Might be due to lag, or do to general buggyness, but every now & then the cannon wouldnt fire anymore. Dismounting and re-mounting solved that though. Just a heads up =)

You do not need to go inside the mine. This <mine car> stands outside, near the entrance. Just use it.

The Inconspicuous Mine Car is located at 58.33 - just outside of the mine. After you get shuffled to the ship this is similar to the cannon in Strand of the Ancients but you get some protection abilities.

Simply bomb the ground in front of you as quickly as you can as groups of soldiers attack and when a few get too close use the pulse ability. Try to aim at the area in front of the gangplank they need to run up. After you hit 100 click on the dismount and you get flown back to Death's Breach.

Soloed as lvl56 with no problem at all.

One thing to note is that if you want to get off the gryphon before it lands, there is a "dismount" tab near the presence tabs that allows you to dismount.

This is an unbelievably awesome and fun quest. You head the mine where you turned the miners into ghouls previously, check out the outhouse to the right, right click the mine cart and watch as you get dragged past litterally undres of 55 elites. Then you get on the boat, grab a cannon and it's party time!

Just go back and forth spamming the main attack, and when they all get close, use the lightning attack. Even after I completed the quest I stayed and just kept shooting. Lots of fun. Would be fun to do later as well if there were any way possible to get to the boat without being able to hide in the mine card.

So yeah, enjoy it. Because I haven't seen anything like this in WoW before, save for the tank quest in Northrend.

You don't have to go all the way through the mine to find the car you need to jump in. Just veer to the right of the mine entrances and it is outside, right click and wait for cannon destruction greatness.

If you're having trouble with this quest, do what I did. Use a cannon, fire a shot then aim straight down and fire three or so more shots into the group that's coming at you, then disengage from the cannon - this will reset all aggro - from there just engage another cannon and start again, give it a few seconds or they will evade the shots - do this as many times as is necessary.

Outside the mine there is a Cart, right click it and a miner will drag it to the ship.
leave the cart once your on the ship, grab a cannon... shoot the middle of the group then shoot the plank leading to the ship.

Easy-to-follow quest walkthrough:

1. Get quest.
2. Run to the entrance of Havenshire Mine and there will be an Inconspicuous Mine Car out the front (58,33).
3. Right click the cart and wait around 1 minute.
4. You will now be on a ship, mount one of the cannons and start attacking the defenders on the shore by spamming your 1 key and aiming at the defenders. Use 2 if there are a lot of nearby defenders attacking you.
5. When you've killed 100 defenders, press 5 to take yourself back to the quest giver.
6. Done!

Very fun quest! They will also turn their cannons around and shoot at you so while you are killing all the troops make sure to take out the cannons as well. Have fun!

easy and very fun quest to do.

The cart is located next to the outhouse and is sparkling so it's easy to find. Get into it and wait until the miner takes you onto the ship. Once on the ship grab a cannon and start firing with the fireblasts, and when they come running just pull the cannon down and towards the ramp of the ship and constantly hit the shock button. Eventually you'll have killed 100 then you can easily escape by dismounting off the cannon and flying back to safe ground.

One thing to note is your cannon takes damage first. Once your cannon runs out of health, it will be destroyed. Simply jump on the one next to it and keep firing!

ok jump off cliff by boat but not by soldjers and dont go down ramp ull get pwned so go on boat hold down right mouse button whole time u have the cannon so u can see where u are aiming then press 1 to fire and also pick the cannon w/ the most health i think its either 3 or 2 u press when soldjers get close to cannon. good luck!

If you accidentally press 5 like I did, you might leave the gryphon by clicking exit vechile somewhere around the mine to quickly get back.

Before I was finished with the 100 kills, I made the mistake of clicking on the <Skeletal Gryphon Escape> button from the battle panel and took off on a bird back up to the top of the hill. If you make the same mistaken, don't worry: you can simply hop back onto the mining cart to return to the ship and cannons.

Sooo much fun. I continued blasting at them up even after the mission was complete...until the cannon was almost gone, then hopped on the gryphon. Wonder how much experience it would be if you were to gain exp from killing all those elites! =)

Seriously the escape gryhpon moves slower than a 60% speed mount. Seems kind of contrary to the idea of a quick getaway, if I were those hundreds of soldiers on the ground I would have picked me off in an instant after hopping off the cannon.

This is a pretty fun quest. This is what you do...
Go to the mine cart found around 58.5, 33.0 and right click.
A miner should come around and drag the cart around to the ship do NOT get out of the cart. when your on the ship you should automaticly get out. then right click the scarlet cannon and fire at them press 1 for far distance attacking and 2 for AOE attacking. Once you've killed 100 press 5 and you should go back to deaths breach on a gryphon. Good Luck.

enter the mine go 'till the exit jump in the mining car than a scarlet miner will bring you to the ship near some good guns that you will use to kill all the defender soloed whit my lvl 56

Most sadistic and fun quest of all...I stayed in the cannon for twice as long as necessary massacring people...and my Draenai Death Knight keep making childish train sounds...EPIC!

Did anyone else notice that the heavily-armed warship has been left completely unguarded. Seriously, no guards, no infantry, not even the captain is on the boat. As a tauren I stood on the edge of the boat and danced. Nothing.
It's almost comical that the only military force in the area that has a chance of actually defeating the Lich King not only leaves their war vehicles unattended, but also doesn't notice the large, dancing bull on the ship. Oh, and lets not forget that although there are bombs going off all around them, everyone seems completely oblivious to the fact that they are getting blown to sh*t.

I dont know about some of the other races, but when i did it with a male blood elf, when i used the cannon my character kept going "chugga chugga choo choo" over and over.

kk when you get to the cannon......your not going to die unless you go afk after first shot. Start by launching your first attack at them and then spamming it untill a good amout of them are next to you (i suggest using the middle or far right cannonfor beter aim) and then blast 'em with your 2 attack and then ceep spamming number 1. You will kill them very quick and then you can summon your taxi back or stick around and slaughter them more :) Good Luck

Seriously, hit the crowd then move your target to the bottom of the ramp to enter the boat and spam 1.

If they make it past the rtamp, you forgot how to type.

I started the quest, killed 60, and died. When I went back all the buttons worked except when I tried to use the cannon I got the message " Another action is in Progress" I abandoned the quest, got it again, and I still can't use the4 cannon. Can anyone help?

Click on a cannon to use it. One of your action bars should change to having three keys: "1", "2", and "4". Aim cannon into the field using the up and down arrows on the display or use your mouse. Pressing "1" fires the cannon and triggers a rush of mobs toward you. Keep shooting until they gather on the deck, then spam "2" key to wipe them out. Return to firing the cannon at the field. If you start taking big explosions, spot the cannon in the field and fire at it -- one shot appears kill it. I tried to avoid hitting the patrolling elites, but if you do this right, you'll be fine. When done, hit the "4" to return, even if you're in combat.

On the ship click on a cannon and click a target
Know that they will come to attack you on the ship so take the right cannon en fire on the people that comes
to the ship and in no time you have killed 100
After it click on the icon that the griffon will pick you up (some seconds to wait)

This isnt about the quest and im sorry for that but I cant get my addon for the coords to work. I know they are outside the mine but it would be a lot easier for people like me if people would just describe the place or tell how to get there from a certain point instead of using coords.

Make sure you read the quest close. Make sure to take out the gun on the Beach. I didn't and almost died. when you have a few on deck with you hit the second button that will kill them. Then just keep on shooting. Good Luck Do not leave the ship. The Guns are on the Main Deck.

Use the cart that is near the mine (it sparkles). A miner will take you to the ship. Man the gun to the left. Use your mouse and drag the targeting over them all. Press "1" repeatedly until you get 100 dead. Summon the griffon, quest done!

Go down the hill and outside the mine is a sparkly unattended mine cart. Click on it and a miner appears to haul you down the hill past all the elite Scarlets. He takes you aboard a ship, you can exit the cart or wait for it to disappear, then 'board' a cannon by right-clicking on it when nearby. Then use the cannon powers to mow down the Scarlets, you have a great ranged attack and a lightning attack that seems to work better at close range. Once you've killed 100 of them you can click another key to summon a skeletal flying mount to return you safely for the turn-in. In my case the keys were 1, 2, and 4 respectively.

These are the steps I followed to make this work for me when the cannon wouldn't shoot anymore so I could finish my quest.

1: Return to Gothik. If you’re still on the boat, use the gryphon to fly back.
2: Abandon quest. Exit the game completely.
3: Launch the game again, pick up the quest again. It should work correctly now.

Prince Valanar at Death's Breach has commanded you to slaughter 100 Scarlet Defenders.

Description

In their haste the Crusade will make one fatal error: forgetting to check the mine cars.

You are to return to Havenshire Mine, east of here, and locate the mine car that my minions have planted near the outhouse. Climb inside the mine car and a Scarlet miner will unwittingly see to it that you are placed safely behind enemy lines.

Once aboard one of their ships, use the cannons against them! SLAUGHTER THEM ALL!

Call the Scourge gryphon from the cannon when you are ready to return.
