Tooga follows YOU, you don't have to follow him. He walks at around 110% speed, so running with a steed might get him lost.
He attracts almost no aggro and if you take care where you walk you can walk all the way without fighting a single mob.

If you arrive, Tooga's gonna have some words with his wife:

Tooga: Torta, my love! I have returned at long last.
Torta: You have any idea how long I've been waiting here? And where's dinner? All that time gone and nothing to show for it?
Tooga: My dearest Torta, I have been gone for so long. Finally we are reunited. At long last our love van blossom again.
Torta: Enough with the rambling. I am starving! Now, get your dusty shell into that ocean and bring momma some grub.
Tooga: Yes, torta. Whatever your heart desires...
Torta: And try not to get lost this time...
Tooga walks to the se and disapears...

Personally I think he should ditch that gold digging turtle wife of his, he can find much better over in Feralas.

This is one of my favorite quests. There's very few as fun as this one, as who wouldn't stop to help a lost turtle?

He also says a few things on the walk over, the one I like best is when he asks to be picked up and carried over. I wish I could pick him up and keep him!

look out for the opposite side you while escorting him. If you are on a pvp server this can make escorting him extremley hard, besides that he gives you a fairly easy quest, dont mount and just walk with him. I found him near the thristleshrub valley and walked him back in dire bear form. The ring you get from this quest is nice as well, 120 armor see https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=9642

Because he follows you instead of leading you, this quest can be really short or really long, depending on what the player does between the starting location and Steamwheedle. So if the turtle is not there when you go looking for him, don't bother waiting around. My group has been waiting almost 2 hours and still no turtle.

Don't try to lose a mob while leading him, seriously. Not a good idea. I lead him around Tanaris for fifteen minutes just to get a "Quest Failed" in my face at the nomads.

When he is following you, he can say something like:

"I keep getting sand stuck in my toes."
"Do we have much further to go?"
"I'm thirsty."
"Are we there yet?"
"Have you heard the one about the ogre, the goblin and the pit lord?"
"How much further to go?"

I found him wandering thirstleshrub valley he follows you try to avoid mobs. even i they aggro to you if u can cc them b4 they get a hit on you tooga wont attack him.helps to use your mount and wait a few second for him to catch up.this was a reallly fun quest he talks during the quest and at the end he talks to his wife torta =P.but note you only have 30 min so u gotta be quick with it. Good luck

This quest is extremely easy, just go to 46,65 and pick 'em up there, you cannot clear the arena before they start to respawn, and there isnt really any mobs either

I found him, accepted the quest and the game immediately froze. I logged back on as soon as I could and saw I had failed the quest. Went to his spawn point. It's been 1/2 hour and he's still not here. I think he has a pretty long spawn timer.

By the way, for those who's WoW crashes as soon as they accept this quest, Disable the "Questhelper" addon.
Questhelper automatically crashes WoW for any quests that have a timer on them @_@

Tooga roams round the south-west of the map. The poor turtle got lost when he went hunting for his ungrateful wife, Torta (https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/npc=6015). Like many others I personally think he should ditch Torta, he would be better off :) I'd adopt him :)

Apparently he also lost his way as far as in Northrend! The poor thing surely walked alot since you can find https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=37751 while questing :( But something tells me her wife found him and scolded him good with her https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=37794!

Please do not go AFK while escorting Tooga. That's a rather rude way to lockout the quest for everyone else. If you do go AFK during an escort like this one, you deserve to be ganked - some people like to do every quest (a lot of people since the achievements came out), and locking out quests isn't acceptable. If you have to go AFK for more than a minute or two, abandon the quest and go pick it up later.

Does anyone know his respawn timer?

Seems like his respawn takes a bit of time.

Edit: Okay, so after 15 minutes the turtle respawns.... awesome fun. I would suggest doing the dew gland quest and pretty much anything else you can think of to keep yourself from attempting suicide while waiting for this wondrous turtle.

Also -- Take Note -- Don't abandon this quest unless you really really REALLY want to wait. <3

Was running around looking for him / waiting for 15 mins when i discovered a guy was running around with him QUESTING and he denied to abandon the quest or go finish it. Such retards should be banned for lifetime.

Is this quest broke? I spent all day camping thistle shrub in the area Tooga paths and he never spawned once... frustrating as I'm frikken 680/685 Kalimdor Lore Master :(

Hes just south of the Crashed Blimp. You may find him patrolling through the valley, but normally he stays around the blimp.

I just found him when I was on my way to Un'goro and I was like "Huh? A turtle with a quest?" and so I clicked it and I was like "WHAT THE %^&*! THE TURTLE SPEAKS!" and so I went straight here XD But really? How comes he speaks? No other turtles does =/

If you have the OOX-17/TN chicken escort quest, you can have both escort quests running at once.

Who doesn't want to pass up the opportunity to have a chicken leading you while you lead a turtle - it's like a parade of oddities.

I recommend NOT taking the shoreline as you find level 46 elites (they're easy) but better safe than sorry. Then of course rigger coast is there as well. I took this way and fought maybe 3 mobs. One elite, one turtle, one pirate. Yep, one pirate. Just run behind everything and jump on the higher terrain spots.
Secondly and lastly, Tooga disappears (after he goes into the water at the end of the quest) at
(68.3 , 24.5).
Enjoy your last moments with him.

Torta is only a few steps away from Steamwheedle!

I found it on the beach, lets say 10 feet east from Steamwheedle.

I liked this quest, and I like my new ring. :) Had to kill every dang -5 mob in our path to Torta, but Tooga is pretty sturdy.

Since no one actually described Tooga, He is a big turtle and youll see him cause he has a exclamation point over his head. Talk to him and youll have 30 mines to get him to steam weedle port.

I found him around 32, 70.

I found this guy first and took he quest really liked the ring ;) but i failed since i tryed to go through noxious lair and aggroed to many mobs now i cant find him where i found him last time anybody knows if he got specific spawn point or if he just spawns somewhere and then wander around.

If you're having trouble finding Tooga, be aware that some jerks accept the quest and then use his tiny extra DPS to help fight Thistleshrubs.

I found him at Thislertub (or something like that) valley, made my way trought the desert easily, until i was about 500 yards away from the port. lvl 70 (not sure) rogue attack on me, and killed me, only few hundred yards away from my destination.

The only reason he is all over the map is because the quest he gives is an escort quest where he follows you freely. He's in the thistleshrub valley area.

Tooga is normally in the southwestern area of the ThistleShrub Valley. However if he is under escort, he will not be there for quite some time. You'd have to come back a while later to find him once again.

PS: This also applies to abandoning the quest. If you abandon it, he will disappear moments later and won't be back for an hour.

Just adding here some experience with the respawn timer.

Timer for respawn starts, when someone completes the Quest in Steamwheedle
After someone turns in the quest, it takes 5-7 Minutes for him to respawn
Our group found it helpful to ask in General to figure out if someone is one the quest
Duration of the quest, once started, is 30 minutes, so if you don't see him, you may wait up to 35 min
Try to group up when waiting for others
Avoid going through Gadgetzan on PvP Realms

This quest is definitely not worth it. I've waited for almost 2 hours for Tooga to respawn in Classic wow and still nothing, and even gone between two different layers.

I have seen other players run with Tooga, so I know it should work.

Tooga can be found at two spots: 29, 63 and 32, 74. YOU escort HIM, try to avoid all mobs if you can, it's perfectly doable. You have 30 minutes to escort him across Tanaris to Steamwheedle Port. Hunter's can Scare Beast, Druids can Hibernate.

This quest is bugged in Classic. While escorting him, I attacked and killed an enemy bot that was killing a basilisk. Tooga attacked the basilisk, and when I killed the bot the basilisk reset and Tooga vanished, and I failed the quest. So if you are going to escort him on a pvp realm, be careful

Possible to solo @ lvl.40 in WoW SoD.
Made it on my first try by zig-zacking between mobs all the way and not aggro a single mob.
Had about 15 min left on the clock when I arrived.

Saw when he died when another player failed the escort and had the luck to see him respawn at around 30.60.
Exactly where Questie marked his quest.
