Well, while these might be tough, they aren't unbeatable solo.. They do heal themselfs very easily and often, but after they've done it a few times they seem to do it less frequently.. As a lvl 49 Druid I killed these by outlasting them. whenever They healed, I stunned them with my bash abilility in bear form, shapeshifted to caster form and healed and then back to bear form and so did I a couple of times, however, in the end I outlasted the Forrest Walker and got the Splitered Log. Also, my experience is that these has a 100% drop chance, so you really only need to kill two of them to complete the quest..

They're quite easy, the treant tried to heal, i interrupted per kick (playing rogue) and from then he didn't try to heal one time again. so have a shaman (earth shock), rogue (kick), mage (counterspell) or priest (silence) and they go do just like any other mob

Like the 49 Druid above, I'm also at that level and it was a long drawn out fight to get the 2 damn logs. Took about 8 minutes, no joke. The longest most boring solo fight I've had in this game so far. It healed itself 5-6 times and so did I. When you Bash and pop out for some healing, make sure to drop a moonfire on him too. You have to find a nice spot where there are no other mobs close by or else it will be tough. Better yet, ask someone to help you, that way you don't have to torture yourself with a boring fight....

this was easy especially for warriors (myself 47) who have shield to block the spell for himself to heal....make sure no other mob gets involded.....

im a 50 mage and those tree dudes didnt have a chance, just interrupt the spell when it starts to heal and counterspell it.. after a well placed counterspell is didnt try to heal again.
another not is they hit hard, so have a health potion ready if nessesary, for me I had luck with my crits so np

Soloable.

I just did it as a 50 rogue, it was a 1 minute fight. Use kick whenever they start to heal, pull them away from mobs, and always make sure to have enough energy to pop a gouge at any moment.

I did it as a 49 priest. It was easy with using manaburn. Mob cannot heal. :P

As of v1.8, the trees are no longer elite, they are standard lvl 44-46 mobs. Makes the quest (which itself is no longer tagged Elite) much easier.

I soloed these with my lvl 48 shaman easily, as long as you can stop it healing, you'll be fine.

These Forest Walkers are at Feralas. They are near DM, on that way.

they are indeed NOT all elite. found one around 57,47 but yeah they're just outside DM

I had a pretty hard time finding these creatures. Someone in my group found one wandering west of Camp Mojache and I found another south of Dire Maul close to area where the horizontal path and vertical path to DM meet. There is also an odd looking tree stump with a contorted looking face there. I hope this helps ya'll out! G'luck.

as a 45 hunter i found this easy. i didnt get a 100% drop rate though..easy kill,, but some what difficult to find without tracking

They all not elite, 100% drop

All I have to say is they call them Wandering Trees for a reason. Took me an hour to find 2 of them. Luckily they both dropped for me. And the non aggro sprite darts just west of the village gave me a good drop rate too.

It was pain finding these, but once you find one, jsut camp the spawn :p THey spawned every 5-10 minutes or so. I found mine in the Frayfeather Highlands; South west Ferala in frot of the Ruins of Isildien in the corner not far from the water. I only have a 50% drop rate (killed four and go two splintered wood).

I found one on the way between Camp Mojache and Gordunni Outpost (to the north). Really easy to kill, prety hard to find... but it's not that bad.

wow yall need to b 48 to kill i killed at lvl 41 warlock and im not a twink first character i thought it was kinda easy sure it healed alot but i just kept doting and hitting

i find 2 of them near 60,49.
they are really rare.
drop rate is good but finding them is really hard :(

First one i found was at 54,69 at frayfeather highlands.

Second one at 68,60 near the writing deep.

Trying to find them was time consuming. If u dont find them right away, do the other quests from feralas and maybe u might spot them at a later point.

Found one in a little valley at 51,47 twice. Just slightly west of Dire Maul.

If you're around the coords 54,68 and wait you'll see treants. I had to kill two Cursed Sycamores before the Wandering Forest Walker came. You need to kill the Walkers, they're the only ones that drop splintered logs, but it seems to be a 100% rate. They seem to spawn every 5 mins or so.

Those of you having trouble finding the treants without cords for the splinter logs follow the path in the south past wildwind lake to The Lower Wilds and Felpaw Village, there is one which comes through the field, stand on the path past the lake at the edge of Felpaw Village and wait for it.

The path is just east of Camp Mojache going south, be careful or you will miss it.

Second is down the path way east to where the yeti are in Feral Scar Vale, stay on the road and look north on your map. The cave with the yetis is south of the road, look north to the road above and there is a hillside that follows the road east from Dire Maul to the Forgotten Coast. On the northern side of the road the teant walks along the hills and strolls through the field through the wolves and bears circling. If you just run up the hills on the north side of the road you will surely run into it, there is a screecher and some wolves and bears so try to pull it to the roadside if you need to.

Do these also drop from "Cursed Sycamore" treants, or do they only drop from "Wandering Forest Walker" treants?

I found one by Rockbiter at 42.6, 23.7. First time I saw one after looking down south a long time and not finding any. I found one right away, killed some harpies, and he was respawned on my way back.
