You actually can guess whether this item will drop or not. If Rhank'Zor is wielding a hammer upon engaging him, he'll drop the hammer; if it's an axe - then prepare the roll button :)

Warrior, pally, shammy, and hunter axe. The str is a big upgrade from what it was. If you're runnin VC, and you can use axes, pick this up incase you can't find what you want. I think one of the best at this lvl

I'm using this on my 17 Warrior, and it's great. With the Midsummer Festival buff, I can one shot mobs with Heroic Strike. Good weapon =]

Extremly low drop rate you maybe would have to do him 20-30 time and then if you were very luckey it maybe would drop for you.

rockslicer only drops if the boss is wielding it instead of his hammer, and if it does drop, his hammer will drop also. it is a very good axe, i have it on my hunter.

wow! Why do people keep saying it is a good weapon for a hunter?

I just have to say it is not a good weapon for a hunter. If you are a hunter you shouldn’t be getting in melee range so strength should be of no benefit to you.

Even just a green weapon with some agility or stamina would be way better for you. So if you are in a group, hunters please pass on this. If you’re being rushed by a 70 then fine you can pick it up but all you will use it for is to disenchant or sell to a vendor, because seriously it won’t help you at all.

If for some reason this does help you as a hunter because you always seem to be doing melee attacks then you are doing something wrong and need to learn how to play a hunter.

EDIT: Oh sweet it looks like they are actually changing this weapon to a hunter weapon in cataclysm, so now hunters go for it, I will no longer make fun of you (with this weapon)

Just for reference however when I originally made my comment this weapon's only stat was +11 strength and was no good for hunters

Hunters at level 19 can still use a melee weapon to some extent. If you've got overaggro your pet can't always pull the second mob off you. Besides, a quick Raptor Strike inbetween moving can add a load of free damage. More so in battleground, where half the classes will be in your melee range anyway. Still, if you're going for a 2hander for that purpose, get the Taskmaster's Axe, it has stats you can use at every time, contrary to this weapon.

Wow i have a nice story... I little lvl 50 rogue was bored one day so he decided to kill the deadmines. As he went through there was a boss that had a hammer. the rogue killed him and got a hammer and rockslicer...he felt like a dumbass because a lvl 17 noob was willing to pay 150g if it dropped. The rogue ran out in rage and went into the ocean and drowned himself.

If you are fighting Rhahk'Zor, and you see him wielding the axe, this means that he will drop it. Have seen it drop about 10-12 times out of a hundred or so. Everytime he is wielding it he drops it.

What's funny about this drop is that if Rhahk is going to drop it he'll be holding the axe when he fights you as opposed to his normal mace.

Like I've never seen it drop but who cares... I've seen a pally and a hunter with it, amd the last comment up there ^^^^^^^ that said they where doing 111 -112 dmg or whatever what's your class and lvl, because that is amazing dmg if you are lvl -20 and you should heaps twink at 19 for a while and get some pvp gear honour and tokens.

hi eveyone im a level 14 hunter and i have a owl for a pet i am working on this till it lvl 19 then im going in WSG to earn some big honer points so i need a good two-handed axe or a two-handed sword which is better axe or sword if it the axe plz right back if sword dont write and im thinkin of this axe for a weapon

After about a hundred VC runs while helping guildies, I got this to drop last night. The level 16 hunter that I had with me was quite happy with it until we got the taskmaster's axe to drop.
