Just a note to say it is inside not around the back as people may think. To the left of the elevator. Able to be killed by just one kill.

It's in Bink's toolbox located at 27,36 in the building on the right up the first road on the right from IF, the one with the large moving gears behind it and a large ram moving up and down inside it.

Actually, it's mage-only, not gnome-only. And yes, coords confirmed. It's a small box near the lift inside the house - hard to miss.

It's around 27,37. NE of the entrance to Gnomeregan, there are two huts on a hill. It's the one on the right with the lift. It's on the main floor, to the right of the lift. It's kind of hidden behind a chair a bit. I missed it the first time.
