You can throw it away after you do the quest... i don't know why they have you keep it...

(Make sure you finish the entire quest chain 1st... it'll end in ashenvale after you've got the furblog transformation rod and done the furblog's quests.)

You don't need coordinates. Before the path breaks off to Zoram Strand (the path from Maestra's), there will be an opening in the mountains on the left side. Turn, and then walk until you can turn left again and see the lake.

Finished this quest 3 months ago.... and I just looted it off of a lvl 25 defias guy at the yorgen farmstead.... Just find it kinda funny

what youre doing wrong is you probably dont have the quest required to get the journal, talk to raene in astranaar first!

oops - level 62 going through bags... hmmm... ok, time to see wtf this is.... - holy crap - i've been carrying this around for 40+ levels! :P
(managed to level 4 other chars during that time!)
time to toss it i think, or maybe sell it on Ebay? ;)

The best thing I am going to do is put in the bank. This way it will empty out a bag slot. If I need it later then I will get it back.

when you do a search for the item you see it listed as "Bag Fodder" this means you can trash it with no effect. There are numerous items like this. "Library Script" is another one.

Can anyone please tell me what the purpose of this journal is? It's text is listed here. It can't be sold, it's soulbound, etc. Why should it be kept?

I don't understand why these journals don't disappear when you've completed a quest...What good are they?
I have two or three of these from different quests now and I'm very reluctant to get rid of them in case I need them for some stupid reason...

Basically it tells you that the quest item is eaten by the slimes...

DO NOT destroy this if you still have 莱恩的净化 in your log. It abandoned the quest and deleted the gem as well.
