Drops from Prince Valanar in Icecrown Citadel 25 Man Heroic. From the looks of it, everyone and their dog will be rolling on this due to it's downright stupid stats.

This item is defiantly a contender for caster BiS. The heroic 25 man fight is not terrible for any guild that has downed lk25 and it will defiantly be wanted by many.

Best-in-Slot offhand item for all Warlock specs EXCEPT for rDPS Demonology.

As rDPS Demo values Spirit over Haste or Crit (more Spirit = more SP = bigger Demonic Pact), the BiS offhand for them is actually the Sundial of Eternal Dusk, from Sindragosa 25-man Hardmode.

Now, actually managing to kill Hardmode Sindragosa may be problematic for some... and so this item would be a great "placeholder" until then.

Fun and strange fact: this offhand and the Sundial of Eternal Dusk are the only non-trinket items that drop in Heroic ICC 10 or Heroic ICC 25 that do not contain a socket. In fact, no weapon or piece of armor is without a socket in Heroic ICC 10 (again, excluding trinkets).

A quick search shows that Blizzard has never been fond of including sockets in offhands, for some reason. But what is that reason? Big beefy shields are customizable, so why isn't my skull on a stick (or in this case, my over-sized Eternium Thread)?
