My client crashed when I went to upload my caches so here's the rundown:
http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=10972139545&postId=109709628521&sid=2000#0
You're able to choose between 4 versions of the trinket that have either 90 str, 90 agi, 90 int, or 90 spr and they all share a proc that increases whichever of those 4 stats that you have most of by an additional 300. So for instance if you were a tank that took the agi one for dodge but have much higher str than agi, your proc would be 300 str. It could potentially cause a lot of headaches for classes that have two stats at similar levels but the higher one changes once raid buffed. The proc rate appears to be 100% with a 45 sec internal gcd giving it a 33% uptime or in other words ~190+ of the stat over time.

The Proc chance of the rewards is exactly 35%, if you go to
the effect
this card
(and probably all cards, but as of today wowhead hasn't got the info of the other three cards yet)
triggers you'll see:
Effect - Apply Aura: Proc Trigger Spell
Proc Chance: 35%
Inscriptors (or Scribes) will be so loved for making this =D.

Question : if I pick up the Spirit kind but my highest stat is Intelect, when it procs (+300 Int) I'll gain plus 4500 on my total mana pool. Now... if I had 6k ( My total mana without the proc was 15500 and now is 20k with the proc) the mana that I'll use while the proc is up will be from my 6K (wich means NO mana save'd) or I'll gain 4500 that I can use when the proc is up and it'll disapear without usin' my 6k mana ATM ? (Wich means that I have 4500 mana FOR FREE while proc is up? )

As there is eight different ways to create the deck under the create tab, with only seven card displayed as needed for each craft, any combination of seven cards should be enough. Though when I attempted to create this deck, missing three of nobles, I was unsuccessful.
I'm confussed, do you actualy require all the eight cards to make the deck or dose any combination of seven cards suffice, and if so, how do you manage that?

Has anyone actually tried equipping 2 cards yet (different stats, eg str + agil)?
Would be interesting to know if the trinkets stack or share internal cooldown.

I've had the spirit version of the Greatness card since level 77. Just hit 80 and got a chance to equip it. I only got to test it out for a few minutes before I had to log, but I wanted to toss up this information for restoration Druids (and other HoT users): The effect seems to have a chance to proc (as the card text indicates) each time one of your HoTs ticks. I dropped down into a particularly hot part of Icecrown and grabbed about 10 mobs, to guarantee I'd always be low on health...then kept up a steady flow of HoTs. Each time, the proc did NOT coincide with a CAST, but rather with a HoT ticking.
This is wonderful news, if for no other reason than that it should proc for us very close to every 45 seconds (the assumed Internal Cooldown) because our HoTs are ticking constantly. I'll do some more testing later to see if I can further confirm that 45s internal cooldown.
Happy Nobles hunting all!

Assuming trinkets from this deck have 45 sec inner cooldown (like most, if not all powerfull "chance on" items do) buff will be up almost 1/3 of the time with such insane proc rate (35%).
So you will have about (avarege) 150-190 <stat> whole fight, counting +90 static bonus... ekhm... that's just crazy ;]
edit:
I know it's not best trinket for PvP, but with such proc rate in first 2-3 hits it will proc and buff up your initial burst dmg, for example for me as a drost DK: 2 diseases and 1-2 melee hits (2h) when starting a fight, and it should proc from those attacks, next skills are howling blast and obliterate, then frost strike and maybe rune strike - 4 very powerfull skills buffed up with 780 AP... so let's see... OMG!
So i'm sure, that when i get enough resi gear, and i'll learn more about PvP Twisting Nether trinket from Portals Deck or Berserker! from Chaos Deck won't be needed by me it will be must-have-trinket for me.
edit2:
Any1 checked what happens when you have 2 stats on exact same level? lets say 500agi and 500str, without any modifiers?

Anyone seen a disparity in the card distribution for these? on our server I know of 6 people who have completed the entire deck except for the 7 of nobles. only 2 people have successfully completed the deck so far, and at LEAST 6 people are still hunting for the elusive 7 of nobles. Was just wondering if anyone has seen anything like this on their servers, or if we're just massively unlucky.

Anyway my question is I am going to use a noble trinket on My Blood DK and I am not sure iF I will use the chaos (berseker) or undeath (death) on the other trinket slot since I know that the undeath trinket will be change from +85 haste for +85 crit anybody Have idea how those 2 trinket will proc on my DK ? thx If you are on Arthas Horde side just wp me if you want trade cards.

2 nobles 4,7
3 undeath 2,2,5
3 chaos 2, 7, 8
2 prisms ace, 3, 3
duplicates suck but they all sold for good gold. they may be expensive to make but i farm the herbs in sholazar basin so they are everywhere. the lowest card i sold was 2 of undeath for 200g the highest was 7 of nobles for 900g most were around 5-600g each. i kept the 4 of nobles cuz im going after this deck but didnt know what it made til after i sold the 7 :(

Fact check, Epic Inscription Decks (assuming the buyout cost on wowhead matches local AH costs)
There are 8 cards to make a deck (Ace-8)
There are 4 decks that can be created with the
same recipe
, so your odds of making a specific card are 1/32. (8 cards * 4 decks)
The rewards:
- Greatness -
Intellect
Spirit
Strength
Agility
(You can choose which you get.)
-
Illusion
-
Death
-
Berserker!
Assuming you have astronomically good luck and you make all 8 of the desired cards on the first try you’d need either:
- Farm 60 stacks of high level herbs and 24 Eternal Lifes
or
- 3800 Gold to buy reagents
Assuming you have above average luck…
- Farm 240 stacks of high level herbs and 96 Eternal Lifes
or
- 15000+ Gold to buy reagents
- You’re probably going to spend double that though
- Assuming you just buyout the cards on the AH: 11350 Gold

Hmm, i really can't see the enourmous profit in this.
If i buy mats form the AH each craft would cost me around 250g so that is 1000g for 4 crafts, that would, if with normal drop rate, suceed in 1 nobles and 3 others.
So i have spend 1000g on a card i can sell for around 900g and the rest of the cards sells for around 200g all together. And by now prices are falling... so really can't see the big money profit here.
Someone please enlighten me :D

The drop rate is not skewed. I made three Noble cards in a row last night and they were all different too. I guess it was my lucky day. I sell all other cards for 75-90g and Noble cards for 800-900, although they go as high as 1.5k. I always lowball mine. Look for Lokko on Velen if you need any Inscription items.

I decided to complete the deck slowly collecting the cards (AH and via trade channel) waiting for low prices on each single card. Managed to spend 6000G for a complete deck. Now the question is: will I keep the deck and claim the awesome trinket OR will I sell the deck and claim easy 7-9.000G?
#EDIT
Considering that gathering gold in Wow is not a "hard" task (while getting awesome gear pieces requires more effort) I decided to keep it for my MM hunter and get
Darkmoon card: Greatness +90AGI
. I can say this was one of the rare moments in the game where a single item change
noticeably
boosted my dps (coupled with
Mirror of truth
). Amazing trinket, it procs A LOT and it's just even better when farming with Gorilla+Volley, as you get 1 proc per pull more or less (assuming that you try to Volley 8-10 mobs at once, by the time you kill and loot them the internal cooldwon is finished!).

Just a quick numbers run for you (I am too lazy to farm this stuff so here is cost to buy):
On my server (Gul'dan), if I am patient I can get
Lichbloom
,
Icethorn
and
Adder's
for about 2g50s per herb or 50g/stack. A stack (on average) yields 12
Azure Pigments
and 2
Icy Pigments
or 6
Ink of the Sea
and 1
Snowfall Ink
.
With the new 10/1 trade in for Ink of the Sea to Snowfall Ink, that works out to a cost of 31g25s per Snowfall Ink and/or 3g13s (round up) per Ink of the Sea.
Eternal Life
can be picked up under 12g w/ patience and the paper is 50s...
So:
Paper: .50
IoS x 3: 9.38
S.I. x 6: 187.50
E.L. x 3: 36.00
Total: 233.38/per card
I have (supposedly) a 1 in 4 chance of making a noble card. . Which means that for every 933g50s I spend making cards, I should get 3 non nobles and 1 noble.
Non nobles on my server run anywhere from 150g to 350g (say 250g average) and the nobles run from 1,000g to 2,500g (avg seems to be around 1,500g though).
If luck and odds play out I have just made 2,250g worth of Darkmoon cards for about 1,000g or a 1,250g profit. Not bad for a little patience watching the AH for herbs and 1/2 an hour milling the results. Even if you choose to keep the noble card, you are only out around 250g.
I realize my server prices may not be indicative of the norm, I am on a low population PvP server but there is a fairly large margin to work with. If you are really looking to get a deck it is fairly easy to work your way up by making your own and trading/selling any duplicates and when all is said an done it should only cost you around 2000g.
Have fun with this ~
You may pick apart my fuzzy, under-educated math in...

Well after 2 months of farming to get this set i can say a couple of things about that, so, basically each card has worth about 600~1000g(max rly expensive tho)
By the way you can find sometimes players that sell Four or Three, for instance, on trade channel for 400g it's normal but you must be lucky for something like that lol
People DON'T absolutely buy cards for over 1k.
Whole Nobles set is worth around 8000-12k (10k is usually the normal price to get it) DON'T buy
Nobles Deck
for over 12k is simply a fraud

The proc rate for these nobles cards seems around 25%
I have made 40 Darkmoon cards and heres what i got...
Prisms Deck
Chaos Deck
Undeath Deck
A(x2),2,5,6,7,8 Of Nobles
7x Six of Chaos
Two of Prisms
Eight of Prisms
So out of the 40 i made, 7 were nobles, around 22-25% i believe, but i haven't slept all night, so i could be wrong, ofc this might be just lucky of me/unlucky of me to get this amount, but i'm relitivaly happy with this, i don't have herbing as a prof, so i had to buy the mats at the AH, but thanks to low price Tiger Lilly (17-19g per stack) i spent around 8.3k-8.5k including the Eternal Life aswell, by milling the herbs, trading the inks in for Snowfall Ink and making inks from the Azure/Icy pigments, now... On my server, the nobles cards sell from 500g-1.6kg, Five of Nobles worth the least and the ace/Four always being worth the most, the Chaos Decks sell for around 600g and the Undeath decks for around 500g, Prisms deck 350-400g, i have kept them all up to now, i am saving teh prisms deck for my shammy and i'm thinking of buying the last 2 Nobles cards and then either selling the deck, or using it, my problem is i really undercut people in the AH, for a "Quick" sale... Or a broadcast on the trade channel things like... "Selling Signet of Edward the odd, 900g, VERY cheap" which i've done in the past, so the Nobles Deck is on the Ah on my server for 10-11k, i would probably put it on for around... 8k? Which would give me my money back, but after the time to make it etc, alos would have to buy last 2 cards, so i probably wouldn't get my money back, blah... Anywyas... I've made the cards before, i do them in goes of 4, so i always make 4 at a time and i almost always either get 2 of the nobles cards and 2 of the others, or 2 of x card, 2 of x card, and it usualy evens out to every 1 in 2 i get the nobles cards, which is around 25%, so imo its just luck, all the smae chance of being made, so good luck )!
Sorry for the wall of text XD

gold mine, that's all i'm going to say
last night after smoking, i decided hey my 140 mining blows and i really want that deck. so at about 4:30am i find myself in Elwynn forest, gatherer on and epic mount ready to go, i then raped Elwynn Forest of all plant life, headed to Red Ridge ez mode Island adventure, headed into Darkshire which was just fun super ez and the occasional lvl 30 horde you can kill with your wand/thrown weapon
2 white Russians later i found myself in stv , headed to swamp of sorrows and through blasted lands, walked out of the portal and got to 320 in hellfire and headed into Zangarmarsh. which imo is stupid because you can go from 320-375 in that one zone.
Ok now its time for Northrend, again another easy grind through Borean Tundra to lvl 420 i think, maybe its 440, really don't know it happened so fast. and your in Scholazar Basin, where now your farming for your decks, and any other herb in the area, ok so now 9:30am rolled around and im 450 herb. while on an epic flyer this just becomes stupid. you can farm out so many herbs soooo quick. 1am tonight rolls around, im 1400g up, i have a finished profession and a nobles deck. now granted i got very VERY lucky on drop rates this is easily the best way to go. find your local Scribe and tip him well.

Where do you get the cards 1-8 to make this?
About how much would it cost to buy it all?
If I purchased all 8 cards, I'd just have to turn it in when the Darkmoon Faerie is there and I'm done? Nothing else?

Heres the rundown on the cost of making a Nobles Deck:
I will be using values slightly cheaper than the costs on my realm, (Deathwing EU), as it is an expensive realm as under populated.
To maximise the mill potential of Icy Pigment you need to be milling either Lichbloom, Icethorn or Adder's Tongue - these have a 50% chance per mill to give you an Icy pigment. These should cost around 40g a stack.
You have a 300% chance to create Azure pigment, which gives you around 12 of these per stack.
So from milling one stack (in an ideal world) you should get 12x Azure pigment and 2x Icy pigment, which means you can create 6x Ink of the Sea and 1x Snowfall Ink.
The ingredients for Darkmoon card of the North are 6x Snowfall ink, 3x Ink of the Sea, 3x Eternal Life and 1x Resiliant parchiment.
(Eternal life should sell for about 10g - I will ignore the cost of the parchement to keep the maths simple)
You can sell 10x Ink of the sea in Dalaran to get an extra Snowfall ink, which means you would need a minimum of four stacks of herbs to get the mats for one card - a value of 160g + 30g for the Eternal Life.
Lets suppose that you were incredibly lucky, (and the chances are millions to one), and you managed to create the 8 Nobles cards one after the other: the cost would be 8 x 190g = 1520g
However, (as any inscriptor will tell you), it is not that simple. As there are 4 different decks created by the Darkmoon Card of the North inscription, (A-8 of Prisms - Chaos - Undeath - Nobles), so your chances of getting any Noble are already 4 to 1.
So the cost at every fourth card now becomes 29 x 190g = 5510g bearing in mind that you get a noble first card and they appear in sequence. (starting to get expensive eh?)
Throw in repeating cards and the fact that on every server one particular card seems to be rarer than others, and I would estimate the cost of making your own deck from inscription to be around 25000 - 30000g!
But ofcourse the cards can be bought or swapped to make the deck so it shouldnt cost that much. On Deathwing EU a deck retails at aroung 15000g, so I guess on a more populated server the figure would be more like 10000 - 12000g
Hope this helps! :)

in brief:
If all you want is a nobles deck for yourself, you will have to make an average of 87 cards, at an approximate cost of 255g/card = ~22K gold. (my server price = 30g tiger lily, 50g Icethorn)
You will have:
1 nobles deck
14 assorted nobles cards
65 other assorted cards
Depending on your server, timing and AH patience/diligence, you will sell the other cards for an average of ~50-100 each, the other nobles for an average of ~1000 each, ending up that you've spent around 2k-5k on the Greatness trinket. In the process you will have milled 500-600 stacks of herbs, spent a very large amount of time pricing and repricing your extra cards, spamming trade, and generally whoring around for cards sales.
On the other hand, you could buy your way to a deck for 6K - 8K, if you are patient.
I was lucky that I got in before the bottom fell out of the card market and I actually made 10K extra in the process (I sold a few nobles for 2.5K, undeath cards for 350g etc) but those times are long gone on my server and probably on yours as well. The ink trader glutted the market . . .

If the proc chance of one card is 35%, then the proc chance of two cards is... (i think)
(1 - (1 - 0.35) ^ 2 ) = 0,5775 (57.75%)
So for the second card you only gain an additional 22.75% chance to proc.

I wanted to figure out if it was cheaper to make the Nobles Deck myself, or if I would just be better off buying it straight up off the auction house. Here is what I came up with.
If it costs X gold a stack of herbs, here is what you would end up paying to create a deck yourself:
100 = 12,800
80 = 10,240
60 = 7,680
50 = 6,400
40 = 5,120
30 = 3,840
20 = 2,560
10 = 1,280
(Please note that this does not take into account the amount you would pay for Eternal Life. Please add the going price for Eternal Life on to the rates above.)
To figure this out, I assumed a few things. Firstly, that it takes 4 stacks of herbs to create one random card (not necessarily a Nobles Card). I then assumed that you have a 1 in 4 chance to get a Nobles Card. Following that logic, it would take you 32 tries to get all 8 cards. This is also assuming that you receive no duplicates.
So, to give an example, assuming all of the above is correct. If it costs 50 gold per stack of herbs, you would need to buy 128 stacks of herbs (4 stacks times 32 attempts). This works out to be 6,400 gold. You would then add on the going rate for Eternal Life. You need 96 Eternal Life to make 32 attempts. The going rate on my server is 8 gold per Eternal Life, so I would add 768 gold to the 6,400 gold to end up with 7,168 gold.
I also assume that you are buying "good herbs" (Adder's Tongue, Icethorn, Lichbloom). These herbs, on average, create 6 Ink of the Sea and 1 Snowfall Ink per stack. So, if you were to mill 4 stacks of these herbs, you would end up with 24 Ink of the Sea and 4 Snowfall Ink. You would then convert 20 Ink of the Sea into 2 Snowfall Ink, leaving you with 4 Ink of the Sea and 6 Snowfall Ink.
Taking into account all of this, here is what I recommend. If the cost difference between making it yourself versus buying it outright is minimal*, just buy it outright. That way, you don't have to go through the hassle of buying or farming all of the herbs and Eternal Life, milling all of the herbs, converting all of the pigments into inks, exchanging Ink of the Sea for Snowfall Ink, and then converting all of that into cards. You are not guaranteed to get 8 Noble Cards in 32 attempts, and you sure as hell aren't guaranteed to get 8 unique Noble Cards in 32 attempts. You would then have to try to trade the cards you have for the cards you need, or you would have to try to sell the cards you have to buy the cards that you need. This could potentially take some time, depending on your server.
I would like to thank all of the posters who posted useful information before me. I drew on that very heavily in this post. Please forgive me if any of the above doesn't make sense. I will try to explain it if you have any questions.
*When I say minimal, I have a 1,000 gold price difference in mind. If it costs 5,000 gold to buy the Nobles Deck outright, and it costs 4,000 gold to buy all of the mats to make it yourself, I say just buy the card outright. However, what is minimal to me isn't necessarily minimal to you. You determine what is minimal, and then you make your decision from there.

If someone is wondering why it says you would only need like "1 2 3 5 6 7 8" or "1 3 4 5 6 7 8" etc, its because when you create the deck, you click the one card (which is missing on those) and it destroys it and creates the deck itself. So you need all 8 cards for this.

on a side note:
one darkmoon card: greatness usually goes for 8-10k g on my servers ah, never seen it below 8k. however, the nobles deck can often be found for 6-7k.
turning it in yourself might save you 2k gold. check your ah for both if you intend to buy one...

So I must be one of the luckiest bastards ever... I made 23 cards tonight and I managed to make an entire Nobles Deck in one go. :D

As of 7/08/09, I can confirm that you can complete the quest for the greatness cards more than once. My paladin has both the strength and intellect cards and can even equip both at the same time (not that there's much sense in doing so since the cards share the same proc).
Despite having the same name, the greatness cards do have unique item IDs, allowing you to have one of each should you so wish.

Luck is well, of course, luck. I made 18 total cards tonight and I got 10 Chaos, 4 Undeath, 2 Prisms and 2 Nobles.
Now, with the prices on the server I am currently on I ended up only spending just over 2000g for all of the mats, but I'll probably still break even. Probability however suggested I would get 3-4 Nobles cards. I've had bad luck with these on 2 out of 3 mass creation of cards. The first one I got near the same results as this time.. the second I made 16 and actually got 4 cards, which is what I
SHOULD
get. Though I have noticed that I get more Chaos than any other card.. which is better than Prisms -- I guess.
Moral of the story: Pray my friend, pray for luck when you mass produce. If I hadn't of gotten any Nobles I would have probably smashed my computer screen with my G11.

For those of you hopeful of getting all the nobles cards in 8 tries...here's the actual math.
There are 61,523,748 possibilities for 8 draws (32+8-1)! /
1 of those possibilities is an entire nobles deck
So, the probability of getting all 8 in 8 tries is 1 / 61,523,748 = .0000167% chance
Don't get your hopes up :P
Also, if you make 100 cards:
(100-8+32-1)! /
-----------------------------------------------
(100+32-1)! /
The probability is 10.73%...
And each card costs 180g to make (roughly) so u can blow 18k gold to get a 10.73% chance at getting a 7k gold deck :P
My advice is to sell the nobles cards you make on AH and just buy the deck ( or cards ) of AH ( you will save ALOT of gold and ALOT of time )

With the coming of the new instance, prices of this thing and the "... of nobles" cards have gone down absurdly. Ace of Nobles used to go for around 1000 gold, now it's hardly worth 500 (on my server). Most people would rather get the trinket from the new instance and therefore are not interested in spending as much on this trinket. I've been struggling to sell my cards for days now and it doesn't look like I'll make much of a profit, so you scribes out there might want to put this on hold for the time being and turn to expensive glyphs instead to make some profit.

In regards to how this deck is converted into a Darkmoon Card:
Low-level card decks summon a fortune teller on the spot. (
https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=37163
for example )
The high level decks (Nobles, Prisms, Undeath, etc.) can only be turned in at the faire. Refer to your ingame calender to when the faire will be returning so you can complete the quest.

The
Created By
tab here on wowhead shows eight different sets of seven cards that will create the nobles deck. It shows the
Ace + _, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8
Ace + 2, _, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8
Ace + 2, 3, _, 5, 6, 7, 8
Ace + 2, 3, 4, _, 6, 7, 8
and so on. The ace plus six of the seven numbered cards.
But in-game, I can only create a deck if I have all eight cards, ace plus 2-8. Was this changed? Am I doing something wrong?
BTW, yes, it does consume all 8 cards when I make the deck by right-clicking one of them.
Thanks in advance. the cards are supposed to drop randomly, but on Garona the three of nobles is hard to find and very expensive if you do find it, while the 7 simply is not found on the AH. I check many times a day and have yet to see one. The four of Nobles is incredibly common, often twenty or more of them on the AH, sometimes for less than 50 gold.

Nobles deck sells 3800-4500g on my char's realm, but occasionally all eight cards pop up in ah the same time and usually it's a 600-1000g profit for buying those cards and completing the deck.
Worth to check out if your realm has as easy way to make $$.

As you can see on here, the quest for the Nobles deck lets you choose one of four cards. The result is the same name... Darkmoon Card: Greatness (lame name, huh?). But the effect is anything but lame.
Darkmoon Card: Greatness
Binds when picked up
Unique-Equipped
Trinket
+90 "X"
Requires Level 80
Equip: When you heal or deal damage you have a chance to gain Greatness, increasing your Strength, Agility, Intellect, or Spirit by 300 for 15 sec. Your highest stat is always chosen.
"X" in this case is whichever of the four cards you pick, and can be strength, agility, intellect, or spirit. Note that, even if you, say, choose "Strength" as the card, but you still have more agility overall, the proc will boost your agility instead of your strength. This could be an issue with, say, feral druids, who get more AP out of strength than agility.
Like all darkmoon cards, handing in this deck will get you 350 reputation with the Faire. Yahoo.
