When you get this achievement, the mount is mailed to you from the mount vendor NPC in Dalaran. Just head to the closest mailbox and collect your reward. =)

The corresponding 'spell' page for this item has the speed at 280%.

It's unfortunate that this mount isn't faster. Several of the mounts that are being implemented in Wrath of the Lich King are sporting the 310% increase formerly reserved for PvP Netherdrakes and Alar's Ashes. As it is, you just get another flavor of Drake.

If you get every 60%, 100%, 60% Flying, 280% Flying, Nether Drakes, Nether Rays and PVP mounts of your faction, you'll get exactly enough mounts for this baby.

/edit: May also be worth mentioning that if you're a tauren or any other race that can't use every mount of their own faction, you're stuck having to get some of the Northrend mounts or other Vanilla/TBC rare mounts to be able to get this.

As a night elf you can get this with relative ease.

That's the ones that are easy to get.
Drop mounts, bears, Winterspring Sabers, War Hippogryphs and Gladiator Mounts, are also options ofc.

Actually, there's 7 horses including the Black Stallion purchasable in Menethil Harbor, Wetlands. Another fairly easy (and cheap) mount to get is the Stormpike Battle Charger for 50 AV tokens.

As an owner of a Dark War Talbuk, I wouldn't recommend getting one of the PvP talbuks. It takes hours upon hours of grinding for Research Tokens to obtain. However, if you're smart about it, you can grind Kurenai rep and possibly Consortium rep while you're grinding for the Research Tokens. My list looks like this:

4x Blue-quality Horses
3x Blue-quality Elekks
3x Blue-quality Sabers
3x Blue-quality Rams
Total so far: 13

3x Epic Horses
3x Epic Rams
3x Epic Sabers
3x Epic Elekks
Total so far: 25

1x Stormpike Battle Charger
4x War Talbuks
4x Riding Talbuks
1x Dark War Talbuk
Total so far: 35

3x Blue-quality gryphons
Total so far: 38

6x Netherdrakes
5x Riding Rays
1x Turbo-Charged Flying Machine
Total so far: 50

Obviously, getting this mount will be far easier for gnomes, dwarves, and non-Tauren Horde due to the greater availability of faction mounts.

If you were going for the route with the lowest gold total, you'd be best off getting the 4 (or 5) PvP mounts of your faction, the two dark talbuks, and as many rare-drop mounts as possible.

Yup, got it last night on live.

Non-PVP talibuks + wyverns + skyguard mounts + nether drakes + both brewfest mounts + AV mount + UD and orc mounts + both warlock mounts + both engineering mounts + two PVP mounts + CE mount + ZA bear + the Blizzcon bear I got that day = 50.

I saw this mount last night (patch day) and i couldn't help thinking that the albino drake has a definite "not very well" look. I don't plan on getting this mount but i do feel that the guys who put in the hours/days to get this deserve a little bit more. Air brush it blizz!

Unfortunately this achievement is not fair. Due to the allowance and disallowance of certain races to ride certain mounts this mount will only be accessable by TAUREN pre-WOTLK/lvl80 if you:

a) Are extremely lucky to get rare drop mounts.
b) Have a few extra hundred dollars lying around the house for TCG and other code mounts.
c) Combination of previous choices.

And even with the help of lucky rare drops and a few hard earned bucks down the drain you, as a Tauren, still have hours upon hours of reputation and gold grinding. Realistically this mount will not be obtainable by the average Tauren player until lvl 80 in WOTLK xpac.

A few reputations to grind for the extra mounts needed (since the massive amounts of chocobo, horses, and raptors are not accessible) are:

Ogrimar
Cenarion Expedition

I had to buy all the human mounts, all the night elf mounts, all the dwarf mounts, all the netherwing mounts, all the skyguard mounts, all the kurenai mounts, all the gryphons, plus the AV ram, a qiraji crystal, a brewfest kodo, and two class summonable mounts (Paladin), but it was worth it. This is easily the most distinctive, and most recognized mount in the game right now, and being seen on it is sure to turn heads (and get you spam of "omg where did you get that mount" / "omg you have 50 mounts?").

Sorry Taurens =( guess you have to wait until Wrath to get one, or get really lucky with rare mount drops, and grab ZG mounts, Baron's mount, Loot Card mounts, Holiday mounts, etc.

Just finished this as a BE paladin who is an engineer -

All Kodos, all wolves, all BE mounts, all skeletal horses, all raptors, 2 pally mounts, frostwolf, 2 engy flying mounts, all wind riders, all mag'har talbuks and horseman's mount. = 50 for me.

I am not exalted with netherwing or skyguard :)

I have this mount & it looks good in every enviornment, Can't say that about most Mounts..& it has No Armor on it so it looks even better. It look's exactly as it should...An Albino Drake.

Tip: If you are Exalted with Stormwind you can buy a "Black Stallion" at Menethil Harbor for 8g. This will save you Some Gold or PVP Badges.

Personally I love mounts, and I also love the world companions.

I read pretty much all posts on this topic . So here are in ways some benefits and simply thoughts on my part.

The Gold side of things. ok its not cheap,getting all those mounts but you can always make gold. I Know loads that spend just as much on weapons and enchants and nobody says boo about the cost of some of those weapons and enchants. ( they say time is money) I know plenty that spend weeks in BG's so they can get a pvp weapon, I got exalted with all five city's in less than a week.

Getting ground mounts by rep is also very easy to get at lvl 70 and earns you a title and achievement .So it is in ways killing two birds with one stone. ( if you wish to gain a title other than Shattered Sun, or Jekins, and for what ever reason have not gotten or able to get some of the outer land titles )
It seems many think it a waste to get al those mounts and never use them
For me I ride them all, I choose the mount and my companion pet for each zone I am in, basically it part of my toon look for what ever zone I am in.

the lvl 30 mounts are great for when you are helping out lower lvl guild members, and again pick a mount that suits, making a simply statement t with your toon on mount.

The drakes
Personally even though I have the Nether drakes, to me they are a shadow of the Awesome World Dragons

the Albino Drake is pretty much a classic looking dragon and are a smaller look of the mighty world dragons. Personally for me it was well worth it.
I totally love my albino drake, to me it is thus far one of the best flying mounts in the game.

There's a clipping bug on the left wing. I hope blizzard touches it up, but that'll probably never happen.

Did lot's of old gray quest for rep with Horde races. Only ended spending around 200g on runecloth and I probably wouldn't have had to, I just got impatient.

If you look at the item tool-tip it specifically states:
"Requires Riding (300)"

So yes, you need to train up to 300 riding skill to be able to use this mount. The only mount I can think of that requires no pre-requites would be the Riding Turtle, which moves at normal character speed.

being exalted with all horde cities, get the BG mounts and being exalted with either skyguard or mag'har. And offcourse the gold to buy them.

OK, to all of you that think this is a "welfare" drake, keep this in mind. Blizzard decided to name this the albino drake, not the white drake, probably for a reason. In the animal world, albino animals are usually very rare for most species. Therefore, I think the plan was to call it an Albino Drake and make it white for the simple reason that since it it hard to get 50 mounts and it does cost a lot of money it will be quite rare for people to have them, and those that want one will really have to work for it. The idea was to make an Albino Drake, and since albino's are white with no black pigment, thats exactly what they made it look like........

PS. I do not have one yet, but I am working towards one, as I am a mount collector. I also think that blizzard made this intentially for collectors, the same way a rare albino animal is usually a "gem" for people that breed animals and care for more than just a few of them.....

Replying to AusSpider: actually, this is untrue now; the droprate on Deathcharger's Reins has risen to a full 1%. Much easier to get now than ever, certainly less time consuming than getting everything up to exalted.

Anyone know if that for alliance for doing this achievement and if you want to collect faction mounts, can you be able to collect mechnostriders? (if you're not a gnome and dwarf) and if you're a horde and a tauren can't collect other faction mounts besides kodos (which means they can't really collect other mounts). If so could somebody tell me if you're a specific race and want to get a mount, can you add a mount to your collection that you can't use? if somebody knows this answer I'd like to know.

This mount is a lot harder to obtain if you are already level 80 and have not farmed any faction rep in tbc.

You get 2 rep per kill on ogres for maghar rep, and the kill rate does not make up for this.

Useless bit of info, but- it seems since the newest patch that came out today (3.0.8), the drakes no longer have a /mountspecial. This only seems to apply to the new NR drakes, not the Netherwing ones.

Also, if you look at yourself head-on while mounted, you are positioned a little bit crooked.

The black war bear and the armored brown bear are not on the global cd but the white polar bear is.

The albino drake is not on the global cd but the red drake is.

The ice mamoth from SoH rep is also not on the global cd but I don't have another mammoth to compare.

It took me roughly 4 days to go from a measly 11 mounts to 50. The addition of wotlk and class specific mounts makes this easier. Had it not been for the bears, being a paldin, zherva, drakes, and sons of hodir, I would've needed to grind pvp mounts along with netherwing/skyguard. Just a heads up, get the easy WotLK ones first.

Other than the free first Nether drake and the AQ mounts, everything cost about 3000 gold in the end. Maybe more. I lost count. As far as faction rep for the Horde, I spent alot on runecloth, and time on doing lowbie quests, agian I lost count but it cost about 1000 in runecloth, maybe more.

anything you can learn and ride counts, buying the same moutn wont, you have to actually learn them. Mammoths count. If you can get on its back and control it and its in your MOUNTS tab, then it counts. And yes Qiraji mount DO count!

As for the baron mount, my husband and I ran that about 50 times with no luck, but yes the runecloth is a great idea, I turned that in for trolls, undead, and bloodelves to get exalted after doing all the lowbie quests.

Lowbie quests give a tremendous amount of rep. But silvermoon rep it super tough, once you get to the lvl 10-15 stuff in ghost lands, its all tranquillien rep from there, so runecloth is the best way to go to get the rest of your Silvermoon rep.

And yes, you might pay about 2830g total for all the mounts, but dont discount the amount of runecloth you might buy on top of farming it.

A good way to make this money is farm the dailies. I do all the ones in icecrown, the wyrmrest, the cooking daily and the Hordir dalies as well as the Bruinhildar (blue ladies in stormpeaks)

that will get about 300g, and as your doing that, farm whatever mats you need for your professions and sell them.

The Ogres in negrand drop lots of stuff, greens, netherweave and runecloth and verderable grey items.

These dragons are only usable though if you have your epic flight training, which is very expensive, I bought my training before the WotLK, and it was 5kg, I dont know if thats changed, I havent checked.

Worth noting is that unless you happened to be a sucker for collecting mounts and faction reputations already, this is actually by far the most time consuming and most expensive mount in the game.

I know this was a somewhat old post, but I'd just like to point out that this mount is certainly not the most expensive mount in the game. While the price somebody pays for it varies from person to person, you can easily get it by spending less than 5000 gold. This is far cheaper than the Traveler's Tundra Mammoth (20000g at Neutral, 16000g at Exalted) or the Chopper. It is even cheaper than the Grand Ice Mammoth (8000g).

Edit: Of course, all the mounts I linked are multiple person mounts. This is probably the most expensive single person mount in the game with the notable exceptions of these bad boys.

To get Exalted without handing in any cloth, you do quests, starting from each starting area, then going to the next place and so on for each faction, till Exalted. Personally, I got bored of this, and found making cash was a lot more fun than doing the quests. But that's just me, I guess.

Worth noting is that unless you happened to be a sucker for collecting mounts and faction reputations already, this is actually by far the most time consuming and most expensive mount in the game.

If you go with the easiest approach and focus on reputation mounts, you're still going to need to get exalted with at least half a dozen factions. After that comes the "hidden catch" of this achievement: the massive gold cost of actually buying fifty unique mounts.

While you can get a dozen or two (depends a lot on your race) level 30 mounts for 20g each, you're going to have to spend 70-200g for most of them. For me as a troll the final tab landed a bit over 3500g, and that's only because I already had a number of PvP mounts. Quite possibly the most difficult of the achievement that can be completed pre-WotLK.

Wrong - the most time-consuming mount would be the mount obtained from Mountain o' Mounts lol

I got this mount a month or two back.
Fairly easy, but a tad expensive to work up to it-.
The cost will be a lot cheaper for future collectors now that 3.2 hits and the cost of mounts has decreased dramatically.

I'm an undead warrior. I'm at 67 mounts now, but I got my albino drake with:

All Horde racial mounts (exalted with every faction)
All wyvren flyers
PvP Warstrider and Kodo
Yellow AQ tank
Armored brown bear
Talbuks

The good thing about this mount is it looks pretty nice, and it is one step closer for those of you who are going towards the dragonhawk.

The bad thing is that this mount is becoming increasingly more common, and will continue to do so in the future. It is also very big and bulky, which is a pain usually while flying because you can't see most of your screen.

As of patch 3.2(i think) basic ground mounts are 50 silver, and epic ground mounts are 9g. The training is also less.

So far we're at 48 mounts. I had already gotten my Venomhide Ravasaur for 80g, and by becoming exalted with the Netherwing faction get 1 free Netherwing, making 50 mounts. Of course it might be easier for some to earn a PvP mount for the last 2, but this is how I'm going about it. So, for all 50 mounts it comes to 1,478g. Don't forget the needed flying skill, which is 4,000g from the flight trainer in Thrallmer (being exalted with Orgrimmar earns you this discount). Hope this helps someone, please correct me if my math is wrong, it usually is lol

p.s . if your having trouble earning the rep for horde factions, my only advice is to do ever quest you can find in their starting locations. I had a HELL of a time finding Silvermoon City quests, and finally just bought the last 3 bars of rep with cloth. Wowhead is a huge help tho :) good luck

I just got mine.. it's beautiful and I love it! Well worth it. Seems it is easier now than it used to be, judging by these comments (as of this posting I'm new to wow). I don't have any rare mounts at all.. and only exalted with 4 of the 5 faction cities. I have the carpets, talbuks, plus a few pvp mounts & a few of the 5 token argent tourney mounts.. nothing that required much effort.

To get this I strongly recommend getting exhaulted with all five members of your faction. Cool thing about that is when you do you are awarded the title Ambassador. I found the fastest and easiest way is to do one faction member at a time. Start each at the starting point. You get crappy rewards but you get the same rep. as you would for higher lvl quest. Getting this drake will be a bit easier if you are a paladin or a warlock because you can get the class mounts (2). Belive me, two more mounts really helps.Next I suggest getting exhaulted with Kurenai. Its easy to do and once you do you have can get 8 mounts. So to get 50 here is what I did(am doing) Got all the alliance mounts. (I'm doing this on a pally so i have 2 exta mounts.)Got all the Kurenai mounts. Got/getting all the gryphons. Btw. You wont be able to get this use this mount till lvl 70 as you need artisan riding to use it. Expect you use alot of gold to get this mount. the Artisan flying alone is, at its cheepest, 4000g. I dont think i have said anything that nobody eles has already said but i hope this still helps somone. Im tryin to pass time cas they are updating the game.

this was easy all u have to do is bye 50 level 20 mounts and there u go so if u want to get it easy just do it 50 level 20 mounts= Reins of the Albino Drake so that is about 50g+the amount to learn artisan riding=5050g and if u dont have the expert riding then it will cost 5075g that is alot of chees so i guess it is worth it though i have a lvl 58 with it and i have to wait so u can get this mount at any level! u just have to wait untill u can use it wich is level 70 so get that chees up :)

Think those are the easiest way to get it cause Kuneri gives u 8 mounts and Netherwing six. once ur 80 its not that expensive.
