there is a quest chain that gives you 44000 rep, taking you up to neutral, so farming it isn;t so bad, and from friendly onwards you can loot and hand in everfrost chips, the SoH equivilant of netherwing eggs

whilst slightly tedious, its not altogether difficult, and will save you effort for the upgrad over the aldor one as its bought with gold, not dusts

Inscribers can make a better version upon reaching 400 skill:
Master's Inscription of the Pinnacle +52 Dodge and +15 Defense
but can only be used on your own armor

Yeah this enchant seems like a joke tbh, as a feral tank I dont need anymore defense. I want dodge but 20 rating? Come on!

I'm keeping my 18 stamina on shoulders, with bear form I gain alot more from that then this "epic" enchant.

Imo, the best tanking shoulder enchant in the game will be the new pvp Greater Inscription of the Gladiator, giving 30 stam and 15 resil (resil being close to useless.)

The Sons of Hodir enchant is definitely supperior to the 30 stamina pvp enchant you speak of.

this thing is pretty fail, but as i'm sure a lot of tanks have noticed, the better gear is lacking on DR compared to what you already have. since not everyone can get their hands on a Repelling Charge or a Seal of the Pantheon (not to mention that quite a few of us either got rid of or never got a Regal Protectorate or Dabiri's Enigma) the lackluster +15 DR can come in handy if you need to keep 540+ when you trade in your Daunting Handguards for those spiffy t7s or better. but, as far as this tank looks at it, i'll keep my +30 stam and trade the +22 agi on my cloak for titanweave if it's that close of a call.

The ones you get from honored https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=44132 only have 5 dodge and 5 def rating less, definitely not worth grinding the rep if you're just doing it for this. Nonetheless the 30 stam pvp enchant is cheaper, doesn't take forever to get and is better.

Not quite as simple as that.

You're neglecting the avoidance gained from the extra defense rating. 540 defense isn't a cap, it's just the minimum vs. a boss mob.

Looks like all Arcanums and Inscriptions are just being converted to BoA, there won't be BoA AND BoE at the vendors. I say this because on the live site it shows this still as the epic BoE but for the exact same item # it is BoA on the PTR site.

If you were thinking about placing this onto a BoA heirloom shoulder piece, keep in mind, it may not need the rep to use it, but it certainly does require level 80 to use its benefits! So please read this before you go and spend approx. 80-100g on it and that money goes to waste like I did :*(

Blizz has gone to making shoulder enchants available to all of your characters (with appropriate level requirements to prevent OP twinks)...so you only have to do the rep (or honor/stone) grind on one toon.

This applies to Sons of Hodir (req lvl 80), Wintergrasp (req lvl 80), Honor (req lvl 70), Violet Eye (req lvl 70), Aldor (req lvl 64), Scryer (req lvl 64), Argent Dawn (req lvl 55), and Zandalar Tribe (req lvl 55), enchants.

The enchants can be placed on gear worn by low levels (e.g. BoA gear), but the enchant will be red until the character reaches the required level. For the non BoA enchants (PreBC and BC), you have to have the gear in your inventory to enchant it. It can not be applied through the trade window (so enchanting your lowbie's quest reward gear is out).
