This shield is absolutely beautiful and I could be mistaken but one of the first shields actually made by blacksmiths. I'll be equipping this bad boy and shield slamming my way through heroics with this thing.

Edit: So I just looked and I was wrong about it being the first made, seems there's a few lower lvl shields made by blacksmithing as well. Still a beauty though.

The Best thing so far about this shield is that it comes from the Grand Master Blacksmith trainer. As of now it its not even going to be a 1500g BOE BS receipe in the AH. So the way that im looking at it there should be easy access to this sheild for anyone wanting to make one.

Seems that out of the 3 shields this one has the highest defense, while COT shield has a good mix of bonus stats(adding hit) and def and Crygil's has the least defense but has hit and dodge.

If you stacked mitigation on your gear and need some extra defense to get capped. this is your best bet.

It appears that this shield is completely mis-aligned on female blood elves and female humans. It could be mis-aligned on others as well. When viewed from behind, it is clear that my blood elf's right shoulder is "jutting" through the shield. When wielded in her left hand, one can see that her hand is poking through the shield. These graphical glitches are unfortunate since it is such a beautiful shield!

Is anyone else incurring these glitches?

i believe it will only display the "requires armorsmith" if you have to be an armorsmith to USE the item, or to gain profession specific set bonuses . He asked if he coule MAKE it.

Try not to be a sarcastic jerk and insult someone's reading comprehension, when you don't understand the mechanics yourself, or just didn't take the time to read his question.

Note that the symbol in the middle of the shield is the Kirin Tor symbol. It creates a very nice, subtle combination when wearing their tabard.

Being one of the first on the server to have it, I've been using it solidly for almost 3 weeks, it's an absolutely amazing Shield both for Defense and Aesthethics.. however unfortunately the Royal Crest dropped for me on a Drake run (I won it :D) And as I was already far and above the Defense cap I had to go away from it in lieu or More Stam, Str, and Hit.

That said, it's Banked with my Amani Bulwark <3 It's taken me all the way through Naxx, it deserves to be kept.

Fantastic, utterly Fantastic piece for beginner tanks picking their Defensive stats up.
If I were doing it again, I'd still pick this up in a heartbeat.. then worry about how my T7 isn't an upgrade over blues.. oi.

Has an additional 125.5 AP when Armored to the Teeth is factored in.

7530 x 3 = 125.5 AP

Bring the total to:

125.5 (AttT) + === 201.82

So this shield gives 202AP this increases the damage of basically everything but Shield Slam.

This is an excellent piece for gaining your last few levels of blacksmithing. It requires the least amount of materials that will guarantee a skill point at 440 and over. True there are 3 other pieces that will also do this. But what makes this item the superior choice is resale! Warrior and paladin tanks will most likely be trying to farm up Boots of Heartfelt Repentance rather than buying your Tempered Titansteel Treads. All of them however will buy this.
