An important thing to think about before getting this glyph.

Prime choices for major glyph slot speced Ele currently.

Adds an additional 1 damage to the spell lava burst for every 10 spell power (Or due to 8 second cooldown with maxed haste a max of 1 cast per 9 seconds.)

So before talents and critical strike you are looking at a DPS increase of 1 for every 90 spell power you have from using this glyph.

2% crit when using FT weapon enhancement

DPS increase will vary from shaman to shaman but ~2% (lower with more crit) damage bonus for all spells capable of a critical strike (AKA everything but LaB since it has a 100% crit chance.)

Adds 2 ticks of additional DoT time into your flame shock at no penalty additional LaB no longer consumes your Flame shock debuff.

BEST glyph Ele shaman have avalible hands down shouldn't need explaining.

Now here's the tricky part because we have a 4th DPS gylph that is useful to us.

-Earth shock https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=41526
reduces GDC for earth shock by 1.0 seconds

Before haste this effectively triples the DPS gained from ES making the DPS from a 3000 dmg or 2000 dps shock have the dps value of a 9000 dmg shock without this glyph. This % gain increases as you move up in haste becoming a 0.0 second GCD with 33.3% haste (current gear can get close to this number with raid buffs and you have 35% haste self buffed with blood lust up)

So it comes down to what is a bigger DPS boost for you it's really only between this glyph and 2% crit in my eyes at least. If you don't want to move ES into your rotation just get this one in it's place and keep the normal keep FS up LB spam and LaB every time it's up rotation I guess.

The key is dropping Flametongue for the new and improved Glyph of Lightning Bolt in 3.0.8.
