There are several "BOTM" spells in the database which probably stands for "Brew of the Month." It looks like there will be several different brews, each with different effects:

Belch Brew - Triggers Potent Stench, belching.
Bubble Brew - Triggers bubble. (?)
Fire Brew - Belch fire.
Flowery Brew - Summon Flowers and/or Grow by up to 1300%!
Honey Brew - Become Honey Touched and attacked by... bees?
Jungle Brew - Summon Jungle Gnomes. (?)
Vomit Brew - "Slime" yourself.
Woodland Brew - Become viciously attacked/loved by furry woodland creatures. (?)

Players will probably receive a Empty Brew Bottle after drinking one of the above.

So I got this. I got given Binary Brew which lets me speak gnomish binary for 5 minutes, you can rebuy for 1silver 30copper (around there) and it lasts 14 days. Soulbound.

You missed the Binary Brew, but I could see why, because it's not on Wowhead yet.

It comes in stacks of six and you can only hold 24. After drinking six, you get a buffed called "10000001". It makes you speak in gnomish binary for 5 minutes, basically running around yelling 0's and 1's whenever you talk.

I can confirm I got a Empty Brew Bottle from each one.

belbi quikswitch says in game that u get one per month, and can talk to vendors in IF to get more if u like that particular beer.

Can someone tell me if this in effect lasts forever, or only until next year?

As in, do I need to renew my membership next year, or am I a lifetime member?

When a member, you'll recieve a brew in the mail each month and a different one each month. If you like the brew (which I don't see why you wouldn't, I'm sure it'll be neat.) you can buy some of the item in the capital city.

I know for the horde you can go into Darkbriar Lodge in the Valley of Spirits. There will be some vendors there.

When you're signed up for the club, you'll get a letter in the mail from "Brew of the Month Club" with the subject, predictably enough, "Welcome to the Brew of the Month Club!" The text of the message:

Welcome to the Brew of the Month Club! This club is dedicated to bringing you some of the finest brew in all the realms.

Every month a new brew will be mailed directly to you. If you enjoy that brew and want more, head to the Stonefire Tavern in Ironforge and talk to the Brew of the Month club members there.

It has no duration so I wonder if you hang onto the forms and don't join until the patch comes out if it will give you all the brews needed for the achievement.

Membership lasts one year and will need to be renewed the following year - but what a flavorful and refreshing year that will be.

To get the achievement:

Join the club right now. The beer you will get per mail has no duration (its the only consumable of the brewfest with no duration). Keep the beer in your bank/inventory until the achievement system is live, and start drinking the beer. :)

The first brew is Binary Brew. If you drink a few you get a friendly buff for 5 mins that makes you speak . It appears in 1's and 0's when you talk to other players, like if I said, "Hello" it would appear something like "101001". I don't know for sure if it ACTUALLY converts every letter into binary, I will have to experiment with it.

Larkin can be found at The Stonefire Tavern (19,52)

Every month, you will be sent a sample of a brew. If you like the brew you can purchase it from the Brew Vendor right next to Larkin. Brewfest doesnt have to go away!

Septembers Brew is Binary Brew
October's Brew is Autumnal Acorn Ale (not on wowhead,a squirrel comes and throws an acorn at you or it comes and loves you)

I can confirm if someone has the specific buff you can understand them ( Horde to Horde, Alliance to Alliance) there is no way of cross communicating but still a neat tidbit

Anyone know if they are keeping 'Brew of the Month' a requirement for the Brewfest title achievement? Im trying to get the violet proto drake and if they dont take it out, I'll have to wait another year?

I hope they decide to...they took out "A Mask for Every Occasion" so I hope they'll be genorous this time around too, come Brewfest 09.

I'd imagine (and keep in mind this is my own personal, 100% uncited opinion) that this will get taken out of the meta at some point, as the hallows end masks achievement did. If not, I guess we'll be seeing a whole lot of moaning on the official forums come brewfest.

Nope. There have been blue posts on the subject:

"It's very true that no other holiday achievement set has something that cannot be completed within the holiday, but then Brewfest is the only holiday that has an aspect like the Brew of the Month club, which unfolds over the course of a year. In this one particular case, therefore, it is logical to have an achievement that tracks the participation of that aspect despite the seeming incongruity.

My team is well aware of the concerns voiced by members of the community about this achievement, but we still consider it a reasonable achievement to include in the meta for Brewfest."

"To clarify quickly: we were not forced to include it in the meta-achievement. Veteran Nanny was removed from the meta because we felt it took too long to complete. A Mask For All Occasions was removed from the meta due to the sheer randomness of it. Brew of the Year, however, still falls into the realm of a reasonable time frame to remain in the meta-achievement for Brewfest."

"The Death Knights are welcome to complete it at the same time as the rest of their formerly-Scourge brethren, all characters who have previously not joined the club, and all new characters who started after the holiday who wish to complete that achievement. So, it sounds like they are pretty adamant about keeping the BotM as a required achievement. However, it is likely the QQing will get rather ridiculous as there will be (tens of) thousands of players who will have done everything else by the end of Brewfest and will need only that achievement to get their drake. My guess? Maybe BotM club vendors will carry all the old beers for people who have been in the club for a year and they go un-soulbound. But we'll see. Luckily my main is a member already, so I'll get my drake by the end of Brewfest if nothing changes :P.

The achievement Brew of the Year has been removed from the Brewmaster meta-achievement. The achievement Brew of the Month has been added in its place.

Looks like they went back on that one. :)

For anyone wondering if you have to get the membership again this year if you already had it.

The answer is Yes if you had the membership last year, you must buy it again this year to continue getting the BOTM drinks.

I had just gone to the BOTM vendor having had it last year and she states that the brews are exclusive to members of "BOTM Club". Thus I am no longer a member

No, the sample all 12 Brews of the Month does not fall into the meta. Seriously. Press the Y key, hit World Events and check it out.. Wouldnt it be faster than logging onto this and waiting a day for a reply?
